Just some great anime that started off by them lonesome selves and became manga.
And Code Geass was a collaboration between CLAMP, an all female mangaka (manga artists) group and Sunrise, an animation studio. CLAMP provided the character designs while Sunrise did the animation. It was then later that Kadokawa Shoten, a manga agency, created the various spinoffs you see today 3nodding

I believe Sunrise and CLAMP weren't the only ones in on it.
Though perhaps I'm mistaken.. I guess I'll have to read that article again..

I know what came first , it was the manga.
I shall explain why the manga came first. The first few i dont know how many was about leouche and his rebelion, the second season in the manga was about the rebelion but this time we see the event true the eyes of suzuku or something. Both manga are still ongoing . Simple answerd the manga of code geass came before the anime . razz

The first few i dont know how many was about leouche and his rebelion, the second season in the manga was about the rebelion but this time we see the event true the eyes of suzuku or something. Because of it's popularity, three spin off manga's have Been Released: Knightmare of Nunally : AU. Lelouch is Dead(?) and nunally gets the geass Lelouch Of the Rebellion : Meh. Manga Spin-off Suzaku of the counterattack : Suzaku's POV? I only read Nunally's D:

I've heard many times (and found on little searches) that the anime comes first, but the manga is released a few months before the anime.

The anime came out on October 5th. The manga spinoff was first serialized in Asuka monthly magazines in the same month. However, Asuka issues come exactly on the 24th of each month, therefore the anime came first by a wonderful 19 days. domokun

The anime came first. I had read a while back in an interview of some sort that CLAMP had never before been asked to do character designs for an anime. Also, on Wikipedia they quote:Kadokawa Shoten has published four manga adaptations of Code Geass, each containing alternate storylines. And they provide the link to where they got the info from (it's in Japanese though) [official C.G. books]
Although it's true that in many, many cases the manga comes first, C.G. is one of the other many cases where the anime came first.
