It was a warm day on the Savannah, and the weather was pleasant except for the fact that it was unusually windy. Strong, random bursts of wind seemed to appear out of nowhere, rattling the dry grass, shaking the leaves from the trees, and sweeping the dirt into small dirt storms, before it all settled once more. It was quite peculiar, and if one was caught in the middle of it, it could leave them quite disoriented.

That was Kyprioth. The sable-colored leopard glared around him in obvious confusion. He was never one to lose his way, having traveled the Rogue Lands since childhood, but the sweeping winds left him feeling confused and dizzy. So, it was with a sigh of disappointment that Kyprioth decided to leave off his search for a few hours and seek shelter. After some searching, he noticed a rock formation made of a few stacked boulders nearby. It seemed pleasant enough, and he could be out of the wind for a few hours until it died down.

He padded over to it quickly, and noticed that two of the boulders had created a rather cave-like dwelling where he could rest. He hopped up to it, pleased with his find. However, he was not as pleased to find that it was also being occupied by someone else.

Kijeshi was calmly prodding his catch, seemingly upset with himself with losing his appetite after getting caught in a small dust storm. His prey, a decent sized hare, was now covered in bits and pieces of dust and dirt, and it made his meal look much less appetizing when he had initially caught it. So with a sigh he tossed it aside, lowering his head to his paws in hopes of a taking a pleasant nap.

Unfortunately for him, a peculiar scent was on a passing breeze, and his ears perked when the sounds of padding paws coming toward him began to grow louder. With a frustrated grunt Kij sat up, eyes narrowed into a significantly fierce glare, and he growled. "Who goes there?" the male demanded, though when the figure of fellow leopard came into view he loosened his gaze.

Kij was never threatened by the presence of another leopard. He felt he could hold his own well enough against a normal sized lion, so a leopard would be no big deal. So with a bit of an angry grunt he proceeded to ignore the other's presence, lowering his head once more to take on that wanted nap.

Kyprioth had recognized the scent of another leopard, but it wasn't until the other came into view that Kyp realized it wasn't a female, but rather a male. What a shame. Still, Kyp wasn't about to attempt to brave the dust storms, so he pushed aside his sense of pride to ask permission to be there. He didn't want to, but the other male had been here first, and Kyp was certainly not in the mood for a fight.

So he sighed, and stated as nicely as he could, "Sorry for disturbing you, but could I possibly share the space until the weather decides to be agreeable?" Kyp's expression was aggravated, but that could easily be caused by the weather. Right now, all he really wanted to do was curl up and rest, but to be fair he stood and waited patiently for the other's decision.

While he waited, Kyp took a second to look the other male over. He was a little larger than Kyp, but that wasn't too unusual, and completely brown. The coloring might have been dull, except that it was a rich shade that was rather obscured by a layer of dirt. Glancing down, Kyp say that he didn't look much better. His dark fur looked grey, while his cream-colored fur simply looked filthy.

Great. So now I'm stuck here with a leopard who isn't a lovely female and I'm filthy. Just my luck.

His mood wasn't lifted much, especially since the other had decided to be polite, very much unlike him. To be honest, Kij would've rather this stranger be rude than to calmly interrupt his almost-nap. So Kijeshi looked up, a dull look on his face, making it apparent that he didn't like the situation any more than him. "Be my guest," he said bluntly. He scooted a little toward the wall closest to him to make some more room between the two of them. As awkward as it was, the two of them seemed to think alike in finding some sort of shelter instead of stubbornly facing the small storms outside.

As soon as he got comfy again, Kij lowered his head back down to his paws, though he kept an eye open to watch the other male. While he wasn't at all intimidated by him, he felt it was still necessary. They were strangers, and it'd take a bit more than a dust storm and similar thinking for him to lower his guard.

With a sigh Kij pointed at his catch from earlier that day. It was lying a bit closer to the other now, and having the company somehow made him feel inclined to inform the other of his wasted meal. "It's a small rabbit. I'm not hungry for it anymore, so you can take it if you like," he mumbled. "Just the top layer's dirty, so it's still edible." And with that he closed both eyes, hoping to finally catch that nap.
