On to the topic, I would like to know what you think the future holds for us as humans?

My future is much like Ray Kurzweil´s future.
That we will sooner or later we´ll merge with robots/technology to create a race of human robot hybrids.

Everyone might not like it but thats what I think will happen. 3nodding

maybe only new technology coming mrgreen

I know you don´t like them, thats why I usely don´t bring it up whee

@D-ve: We are talking about 50 to maybe 1000´s of years here so I hope we as the human race make some technological advances. xd

If not that would be the end of us.....

@Artanus: Yeah it´s sad but we have become a pretty lazy race.....

I think robots will have assumed control, and we won't be here, but the robot race will be perfectly content with the way the world is and not have to worry about war, famine, and all that stuff.

Until the decide to look up porn on their mind-web. >.>

anyway, i'm actually fairly optimistic about the future as of right now, just because there's so many wonderfully awesome things being invented. also, people's attitudes towards the planet and the environment and our impact on it are changing for the first time in a LONG time.

nanobots are going to be in use within 25-50 years. did y'all know that? you get sick, they'll inject you with wonderful little disease fighting machines. 3nodding i'm hella excited!

of course, the next ice age is on its way, and that'll certainly put a damper on things. and then of course there's the next time ((within 200 million years)) when the continents for another super continent, and that'll suck...

and there's always the possibility of an asteroid crashing into us and wrecking havoc with our climate...

but other than all those things, i think stuff is looking up on the whole. 3nodding there has never been a time of freer idea exchange, or a time when equality has been so embraced. there's never been a brighter period of advances in medicine and knowledge of the world around with within us.

i think its easy for people to get mired and bogged down in all these "OMG WE'RE ALL GOING TO DIE A HORRIBLE, COMMUNIST DEATH!" ideas about the future, but you have to look @ history and where we've COME from and then @ where we are today and THEN you can get a better, more evenly rounded out idea of where we're going.
