Sure, a great singing voice and the natural ability to draw are great gifts...
...but why is it that when someone can do something extaordinary, like tell when demons and angels are around, christians and people in general treat you like you've got the Black Plague??

Because people can hear and recognize a great singing voice or other more tangible gifts; they have no way of telling that the more spiritual gifts are real. My mom saw angels, and was accused of being 'crazy'. Be careful who you share such gifts with.
(And let's face it - there are mentally disturbed people who see things that aren't there - I had a neighbor who was talking to 'people' when she was all by herself - She's on meds now and doing MUCH better!)

I know that feeling. Sometimes at night when I'm sleeping, God gives me a glimpse of the future. It started with deja vu experiences, but I have seen visions.

I told my mom and she says I have Empathy and Discernment of Spirit. Not many people, let alone christians, have that. (according to her)
Sometimes it's real cool!!
...and sometimes it freaks me right the heck out!!!! *cowers under covers*

I've had that deja vu feeling a lot - I think most of them have been times in my life when I needed to make decisions - I always am sure I've dreamed of that moment before. I think it's God trying to tell me to really pay attention to what I'm doing.

There are many reasons why modern Christians are skeptical and some don't believe Charisma is for today. Christianity today in general is a messy one because there are to many fake televangelists and immaturity. I myself, have to be a skeptic concerning spiritual gifts due to the matter that there are many fake claims. If there is evidence of the spiritual gift through biblical testing then I could not deny it. There will always people who will deny anything concerning Charisma, been there.. done that...

Many people don't like to think that GOD Likes you more then them, or the other way around, so they choose not to accept the fact that some people can. And there are reasons why those people have that, and not you. Just think about it. I have a gift, and it's one I don't wish to share, as I have been accused and persecuted socially because of it, but it really helps me out in tough situations. Then again, Discernment of Spirit is a rare ability. Your mother is right, not many people on this earth have that. Use it to the fullest.

I am autistic so my mom raised me differently than most. I was taught to consider myself normal. I always figured, if I can do it, so can everyone else!!
I'm figuring out that it's not the case in most situations!! The Discernment of Spirit, for one. I always thought that if I can tell when demons are around, so can mom and my neighbors!
It's kinda weird. Finding out I'm different. Special, even. It means that there's not many people who know what I'm going through. Not many to relate to.
I'm glad I've found some people who DON'T give me that "possesed freak" look!! *hugs* Thank you all! You've helped me a lot!!!

I have prophesied sometimes. Like their was this one prophecy about the general state of our nation's youth that I had while dreaming. There was a bunch of dark, stormy looking clouds and the people standing their by the clouds weren't that happy. But then the clouds disappeared and the people started looking happy again!

Well, why do some people have the gift of teaching and others don't?
I don't know. To tell you the truth, the biggest factor is unbelief. I've recently learned that God really does still do that sort of thing. It's life-changing, lemme tell ya. People are also scared of and burned by sensationalist things, sometimes. Too many people say you can't be X if you don't have Y gift. Not true. Make sure you don't treat others badly because they don't have your gift.
But yeah, you don't have the black plague. You are gifted. So is everyone else. Call out their giftings, too. Don't just want your own called out. The "ordinaries" are just as miraculous as yours. =)

They do that because they really don't understand, or they don't want to hear about Jesus........ Does that answer your question?
