Hated. Despised. Fooled. Alone.

Always alone.

Forever....alone.

The night had been long for the disturbed looking filly, the spring air still nipping as her new pelt while the noises around her kept her tense and bleary. She couldn't sleep....how could she? Away from her family and the comforts of safe slumber who knew what would be willing to rip her body to blissful shreads the moment she closed her tired eyes? No....sleep was something that just couldn't happen till she located a familliar face; and seeing that now her mother was not one of them it would mean trying to re-trace her steps back home to Sabriel, Gabriel and Reaper.

Mother....

Eyes narrowing as they nearly burned with hatred and confusion, the little filly let out an animalistic snarl in her throat. Oh how she'd been the fool to believe her mother would love her....would love any of them. Nimue wasn't able to love any of them thanks to her cruel mind; and although the filly couldn't blame her fully - her inner darkness pointed all fingers towards her. She gave birth to them....her own monstrosities come to life. Wasn't that why she freaked out and attacked her, even now the filly had a hard time limping along in the woods where her own mother had drove her horn into her shoulder. Covered in blood and her body shaking from the pain of the wound and her curse; the filly left an impressive trail of blood along the ground. Yet what made the girl smirk was the fact some was her dear mother's blood where she'd drove her armored tail into her sides during the attack....she at least had the satisfaction of knowing that Nimue was in the same boat as she.

As dawn began to break, so did her anger. The pain was becoming increasingly overwhelming and she wanted nothing more than for it all to stop. The pain, this lonliness, blood.....blood....so much of it. Stopping dead in her tracks along the trail, the filly looked up at the brightening skies above when she felt something warm trickle down her cheeks. Looking down as it dripped onto the ground, her suprise was unkept as it was tears and not blood. She had yet to cry since her birth....and the sensation to go along with it was strange indeed.

But it felt good. And thats all that mattered to her now. So hanging her head, the filly cried near silently to herself. For one who felt little to no emotions; it made her body feel good to let out the frustrations that was taking a toll on her very soul.

Being a foal gave someone a good reason to be ignorant on the true meaning of life.

To be unaware of all the horrors that resided in the world. All the pain that many had to live with. The sorrow, the tears, the hatred...all of it.

Being a foal usually gave someone the ability to be free. Careless, fun and well, stupid. Being a foal was supposed to be the 'best time of your life', where one could just enjoy their exsistence, and not have to worry about anything worth being terrified of.

Running around, playing tag, laughing, getting dirty, misbehaving, exploring....all of it came with being a foal. And it wasn't just a stereotypical thing, everyone expected it. No matter who the parents were, or how the foal was going to act when they got older...being a foal was a wonderous experience.

...

Well there are exceptions to everything.

He knew. Not as well as others like him do, but he had his reasons.

Having a Father who was ignorant of pretty much everything you could think of was tough. Bliss was a great guy, but not a very good Father. He wasn't meant to take care of three boys, he wasn't cut out for any type of responsibility. The dark silver bay stallion was a carefree soul, one only meant to live life on the edge and not tied down with children. He had his female friends, all of them with 'benefits', and he had his foal-like charm that stilled stayed strong even years later. It made the mares weak at the knees to see Bliss, and he loved the attention. But he didn't know just how wrong that attitude was when he had little ones to watch out for. Especially ones who didn't act anything like their Father.

There was also the dream like Mother on the other side of him. She didn't love Bliss even though they had children together. He wasn't one to fall in love with anyways, but she...she was a wandering soul. Bond forever to walk the face of the earth alone, never shackled down with worry. But now she had boys. Her heart wasn't where her mind was when it came to her children. She loved them, obviously, but that's because they were hers. She wasn't the type to show her love for them, she was just their Mother, nothing else.

So the foal in question, along with his brothers didn't have a normal foalhood, even to this very day, the boys didn't play as often as expected.

Well, maybe Jamison and Connor did, but not Ian. Not the one who prefered to watch his family have 'fun' on the sidelines. Not the one who didn't go looking for trouble when trouble wasn't already around. Nah, the colt was quiet, smart and definitely an adult trapped in a little body.

He had asked his Father to go out for a bit, and the answer was yes, of course. Stupid foolish stallion...didn't know something could happen to his boy if he wasn't carefull. So Ian walked slowly down an empty trail, his head faced down so his foggy eyes were staring downwards.

It was hard being a foal.
