Niruzu & Shetani
Niruzu & Shetani
Niruzu growled silently to himself, laying upon a rock next to the pool of water that his waterfall had created. Yes, he claimed it as his own, for the cave behind it was his, and thus, it was his territory inside this dreadful jungle. At least, he thought it was his own, he was sure if another, larger rogue came along and claimed it he probably wouldn't stand much of a chance at all.
Although, the reason for his crummy attitude was not the thought of his waterfall or the fact that he held only as long as no other became interested. No, his crummy attitude, as usual, was attributed to the female that insisted on nagging him constantly. He hadn't seen her today, but he was still full of anger from the day before. Imagine, the brat pushing him out to go talk to the elephants alone! Sure, the conversation had been nice, but he had made a right full of himself.
He huffed, hitting a paw against his rock, and then pushed himself up onto all fours. Nearer the shoreline of the pool he spotted an old turtle shell - empty, but muddy. He moved to sit down beside it, mumbling angrily to himself as he began to wash it off. It was something to do, at least.
"Wotcha doOooin?" that familiar nagging voice asked. Shetani appeared like a ghost--or a demon--on anearby rock. Already she was lounging as per her usual fashion and watching his actions with interest. Washing a turtle shell? How weird. "Y'look shulk-hey.... Ach, yer still mad o'er yisterdhay, ain't ye?"
"What the hell does it look like I'm doing?" he muttered, without even looking over his shoulder at her. Oh, he knew what she'd be doing and he didn't have to look to see it. He continued to wash it off, slowly showing off the patterns on the shell. "I'm cleaning it off to see what it looks like," he said finally, pushing it a little farther into the water to clean out the middle.
"Maybe I am," he shrugged, but his face contorted rather grumpily. He threw her a sidelong glance with his pale eyes, tail lashing through the grass behind him.
"Tch, yer worsenna womhen, ye is." She giggled, "An washin loike un too." That shot emparted, Shetani slid off her rock and moved closer to look at the shell, "Whut ye need ta see h'it fer, hanywhey? ain't no' buhh'ah tur'ty shell."
He growled at her comment, narrowing his eyes on her as she started moving in his direction. "I am not," maybe if he drowned her, her dad would never notice.. He shook his head to rid himself of the thought, then sighed as she started bothering him about what he was doing. "I want to see it, is that okay with you?" He pulled it out of the water finally and set it down on a patch of grass to look at it. "I've never seen one without the turtle inside," he admitted, shrugging as he tipped it this way and that to look at. He thought it was kind of cool.
"Eh.. oi've ait 'em befar." She shrugged, but watched him with interest. Okay so... it actually was rather pretty... but she wasn't about to tell him that! Shetani grumped, mentally, that he was paying more attneiotn to that thing than to her. What did it have that she didn't. "Y'arrr too. Ah man'd see oi wus only troihin ta 'elp 'im."
He quirked a brow at her mention of eating turtules, then shrugged a bit. "They don't look that appetizing to me," he admitted, shrugging his shoulders. That, and they looked like an assload of work to get into. Just easier to get a softer prey. "And I'm sure eating them ruins the shell," he said finally.
"Maybe you were, but doesn't mean I appreciate it." He huffed at her, though it wasn't quite as irritated as before. Then, picking the edge of the turtle shell up with his mouth, he started for the cave. He liked it, so he'd keep it. He didn't really bother looking back - he just figured she'd follow.
She did so as not to 'dissapoint' him. "Well ye shud. Elphants ain't somfin ye shud be scared o'. Dey ain't done no 'arm t'no wun, an' won't less you mess with dere baybes or somefink. Din agin, Oi'd be purty piss'd iffin somfink mess wit moi baybee."
He sauntered up his little pathway to his cave, ducking behind the waterfall, and set his turtle shell against one of the walls a little further away from the entrance. "I don't think they'd do it on purpose, girl, I'm not that dumb. But hell, elephants are damn exciteable and I've seen what they do in stampedes." He snorted, shaking his head, "I don't want my a** trampled, thank you very much." He was going about adjusting his turtle shell idly when he heard her words, his head jerking up and wide eyes settling on her, "What bloody baby?"
"Ye." She replied with a giggle. "'OO else? ye ain't knhoked may oop yet." The girl smiled and licked his maw as she settled next to him. "thu one'd tink ye're cert'ly troi-in.. d'spoit yer 'atred o'me."
