 Welcome welcome one and all to the fabulous, the magnanimous, the Moulin Rouge!
We have a fantastic show for you tonight esteemed patrons!
Please welcome the exotic, the rare, Cirque du Coeur Torve!
Won't it just be incredible to see your fellow Cirque castmembers performing on the big stage? Sit back, relax, and wait for the curtain!
Anyone can RP in this thread, even non-Cirque characters.
By RP'ing as themselves in the audience each Cirque character can earn .5 performance credits ;D ...
The show hasn't started yet, so no posting!

___Hazina had never seen this girl before, but she knew this interesting young lady was a resident at Cirque. Settling herself in her seat, she watched the morbid striptease avidly. Creative, what was it leading up to? Hazina reached out to touch a wineglass and then withdrew her hand, she really shouldn't be drinking before a show. Sighing, she went back to watching the girl, completely sober. This was creative, if not a bit dark, it made everything a little more dangerous. When her various clothing items caught fire Hazina squeezed her armrest, grateful after the flames were out that the girl, Lily, hadn't been harmed.
___Feeling something creep up on her leg, Hazina turned and looked at the greasy man attempting to feel her up. Without a second thought she slapped his hand away hard, and turned back to the show. Pig. As Lily's gloves burst into fire, Hazina almost jumped out of her chair. She had been burnt so badly her arms were nothing but bleached bones! For a moment Hazina thought she might throw up or faint, until her brain figured it was an illusion. Hazina laughed, completely impressed, this was really great. Without warning the girl danced up to the front and gripped Hazina's face, planting a kiss on her forehead before dancing away. Prickles shuddered through her as she felt Lily's hands touch her, this must be what it felt like when people touched her arm. Cold heat ran through her body as the show ended, peculiar, morbid ... and it just had to be an illusion ... right?
___The crowd rose and gave a standing ovation to the act that had started off the night so magnificently. Encores were called, and men laughed, what a sexy little number! Hazina stood and clapped her hands forcefully. That was absolutely fantastic!

Lily had shot back into the dressing area and changed as quickly as she could into a more appropriate audince outfit. Something with long puffyish sleeves and a short set of rich looking black gloves. Then she pulled the feathers out of her hair and pinned on a small decorative hat. The skirt was long and full, almost tripping her as she rushed out the side door and came to take a reserved seat near the front row. She'd pulled out her contacts and given her eye makeup a cusory swipe, so she wasn't immediately recognizable, but she was still Lily....
She managed to catch her seat in the middle of the light show, and immiediately she found herself mesmerized. It was so unbelievably pretty. "Beautiful" she found herself muttering. And momentarily she was jealous... Beautiful had been one of the things that she supposed her act would never be described as. So she watched, and when the woman dissapeared but still held her last note.... Lily was amazed! The woman dissapeared!
And as the act ended and the audience erupted in appaluse, so did Lily. She didn't even care that anyone sitting near to her would be able to hear the hollow clacking sound that her applause made... That was one spectacular act.

___Hazina let out a long whistle as her friend came onstage, the outfit causing Hazina's copper cheeks to darken with an excited flush. She had been right, Aemilia did look fantastic in one of those pretty outfits. The Masai almost felt a little vain in her prediciton, grinning as a pleased attitude settled over her. The men next to her were agape as they stared at the skimpily clad girl, and a few of the women were completely aghast. Aemilia had clearly chosen an outfit that was a bit more risque than traditional burlesque, but it did indeed have the desired effect.
___The second the redhead heard her friend start to sing, her heart leapt into her throat. She had no idea that Aemilia had such a sweet and lucid voice, which dipped every now and then into a rich chocolate sound. More wrapped in awe than lust, Hazina leaned forward on her knees to give her friend complete visual attention. Things were springing off of her, bits of light, going in time with the lyrics, but it wasn't until Aemilia presented the massive diamond and began the real show that Hazina was blown away. Light illusions! It was incredible! Glancing around, the Masai searched for hidden mirrors, but was unable to find any. These ladies at the Cirque must be master Fakirs, and with that thought Hazina swallowed nervously. None of the Fakirs back home could manipulate light, or shed their skin, and if they had they didn't teach it to her.
___Out of the corner of her eye she noticed a pretty little redhead trot out from behind the stage to sit somewhere in the audience. Perhaps she should introduce herself to that girl later. Her mind temporarily thinking about that mysterious young lady, it was snapped back to Aemilia as she hit the final lyric and then suddenly ... vanished! Bewildered and completely throw aback, Hazina couldn't do anything but once again stand, whistle, and clap with fervor. Another magnificent performance! A thought clicked in her head, if Aemilia's act was done ... didn't that mean ... Hazina cussed quietly to herself as she jumped and hopped over audience members to stumble backstage. God damnit.

Perched in one of the very back seats with a handful of other roustabouts and a string of frenches, haloed in smoke and who knew what else, Jo just managed to keep himself from choking on the business end of a shared cigar once the second act started. Jesus H., that's Aemilia.
The first act had been enough to get any decent, blood-and-vitals man sitting up a little straighter, but the visual of on-stage Aemilia in her high cut bodice and skimpy bottoms combined with sweet little confused Aemilia from the messtent was enough to make a guy double take. Jo gave one of his cat-calling neighbors a drilling to the ribs with his elbow before sinking a little lower in his chair. Jesus H.
He wouldn't have guessed she'd have such a smooth voice, all smooth and confident. Multi-talented, his sub-conscious spat out a little snarkily before he could quickly beat it down.
As the dazzling light act came to an abrupt close, Jo whistled and clapped supportively along with the rest of the audience, half-rising from his seat before his leg complained and forced him back down.

Lily had told herself backstage, that while she was an audience member, she would play the role of a noble person, sitting straight and tall, and never seeming to be too uncouth. Apparently, however, all this had been forgotten as she now sat leaning forward with her elbows on her knees, head in her hands, and all her fingertips curled up around her jaw and into her mouth. She stared at the stage with the utmost fascination as she watched the fire dance... so full of passion.
She felt as if she could almost feel the other woman's thoughts. Love and hate, fury, passion, friendship... sex... that's what was so fascinating about her... she reeked of seuality. The woman practically invaded your head and made you realize things that you thought you didn't even know in the first place.
Lily shook her head to clear it a little and gasped as Hazina when through the snake and the sword... and then two swords.... and fire! lots and lots of fire. Beautiful well used fire, every flame only a perfect addition to each step....
and a kiss for the audience at the end... then the woman was gone in a blazing glory... Lily found herself clapping uproarously again, showing her appreciation for the beautiful fire dancer.
'I wanted to join the circus so I wouldn't be so damn wierd... ' she thought to herself. 'Little did I know that the circus wasn't full of wierdos, but rather true artists....' She laughed a little and sighed inwardly. She had a lot of practicing and thinking to do before she'd fit in here as well.

Aemilia hadn't, unfortunately, seen her friend before her act. She hadn't seen her yet that evening, actually, and she had been a tad disappointed without that extra bit of support. She felt awful about her performance the more time that passed, wondering if she had done this or that, or if the audience had noticed this or another thing. Holding a dirty rag to her nose and lips, she'd managed to steal a robe from the dressings rooms and slide into the audience. It was a thin, silky thing, but she fit in just fine with the rest of the Moulin Rouge employees. She didn't bother changing, it would have taken too long to find someone to help her out of the corset (unfortunately, tying laces was not something she had retained when she'd left the research center). Sliding into an empty space at the front of the stage but nearest to a side door, she eagerly looked to the stage expecting to see Hazina's act already begun. When her eyes were met with only the copper-skinned woman standing in the middle of the stage, her brow furrowed as she was understandably surprised. Was everything alright?
Listening to the comments by the people around her, she was confused further. Coloured? A what-apron? Her mix-matched eyes were dull with exhaustion and uncertainty as she quietly willed her friend to begin. She could never have been prepared for the act Hazina would perform for her audience. She'd never experienced anything even remotely similiar to it.
She knew fire. Or, rather, knew of it. She had never seen it in these quantities before, only in lamps or the occasional campfire around the camp. These were quickly becoming monsterous bonfires and her mind simply couldn't comprehend what to do about it. She wasn't necessarily frightened, but entranced. She wanted to investigate - to touch, to understand, to get a closer look - but she knew to do so would interrupt it all so she only sat with rapt attention as the woman worked.
She was magnificent. Full of so much energy that Aemilia briefly wondered if she had sucked it from everyone else in the room as they were nearly still with amazement - or, at least, Aemilia was and she was too enraptured to look at anyone else. It was fantastic! Better than her trivial light show as it now seemed to have lacked passion and danger as this act did. She felt the sexual energy of it, and she hadn't any idea what it was she felt. Her mouth was dry from the heat, and luckily she had the sense to jump back when the flame licked too close for comfort. It came so close that she could have touched it, could have felt it's true warmth, but instinct had taken over and her body knew that would be a bad idea. It just kept escalating until Aemilia felt dizzy watching her friend spin round and quite suddenly she noticed something extraordinary.
There were creatures! On the stage with Hazina, and they were most assuredly nothing that Aemilia had ever seen. She felt the danger, but seeing new animals had always been sufficient distraction to make her forget all else. Her eyes widened, one hand nearly resting on the sooty stage as she tried to look at the beast. They were long and ... noisy! They were making low noises that sounded like air escaping a tire. Hissing! She'd heard that word somewhere in the cages. As she watched, the snakes began to fight and she recognised the death of one immediately. The other, however, turned into a new creature slightly different and larger than the others. Before she knew what was happening, he had eaten the last and was being consumed by Hazina. You ate them!? These were food? But then Hazina was pulling swords from her mouth! Aemilia knew these because she had seen them in the prop room.
There was so much to take in! She didn't know what to look at or where to watch. Another dance followed and she did her best to take in everything but the fire was distracting. Nevertheless, Hazina was, herself, quite the attention grabber and she eventually found herself staring at the woman once again. It was all beautiful! Just when she was really being drawn into it, farther than she had ever been pulled into anything before, there was a burst of fire and Hazina, quite abruptly, disappeared. Eyes wide, she cast about from side to side to find where she had went but, instead, was left with nothing. The people around her were clapping, so Aemilia deduced the obvious answer. Hazina could bend light, too! At that thought, she began to clap with earnest, standing a bit closer to the stage as her curls bounced over her shoulders like an excited child. Unlike an excited child, however (or... well, we won't go there), she was goosed by an older gentleman while she was distracted. A squeak slipped past her lips before she turned to look at him in complete shock, unsure what exactly she was supposed to do with that behavior. Confused by his leer, she took a step away before she continued her clapping.
She was definitely racking up a list of questions today.

___Hazina blinked her eyes as the lights went out, trying to adjust before they came back on. A large unmoving lump hung inside the ribbons, and the young woman watched from the side quietly. She had made a great effort to view Lucrezia's performance, finally allowing someone to clean, redress her, and seat her in a wheelchair. Holding a cloth to her mouth to keep the occasional blood from dripping out, she watched her newest acquaintance in quiet admiration. She was quite flexible, that was for sure, and very graceful. Her performance was basic, nothing very flashy, just right down to the basics. Lucrezia had done a very nice job with her costume, and it fitted her well.
___The Masai tilted her head, analyzing her small movements that seemed to make a large difference to the crowd. It was a very demure act, not as flamboyant or sexually overwhelming as some of the others, but still it held on its own. Perhaps this was the young girl's style, in a way, not conforming to what was expected or simply doing whatever she felt like. Hazina smiled softly, wasn't that what they all did though? Cirque was an amazing place, allowing people to be themselves, and it showed through their pieces. Each Cirque resident was an artwork in themselves, something amazing created through unknown circumstances to in the end become visually pleasurable.
___It was over, quiet and as unexpected as the beginning. Hazina clapped gently, it had made a very good impression upon her. This young girl may not be as ostentatious as the majority of Cirque, ladylike, perhaps she was meant for something more.
