I think they addressed this question in one episode, but I don't remember which one. From the little I remember of it I think the position of leader in the Keron army is given only to those fit to lead. And I think they also keep back-up clones of their leaders in case something happens to them because it's so few that can be leaders, if I remember correctly that is. Weird species stare

Really? Cause I think I remember that in one episode that said that Kururu didn't want to be leader...

Guys, remember when Keroro's star was taken by Neko-chan?
I think the position is given to anyone bearing a Keron star when they are born.

He also doesn't have the keron star. in book 16 the kitty-sama isnt even ranked and she became the leader of the platoon just from stealing the keron star from keroro. so i guess it all goes back to that silly sticker (haha)
