Saints row 2 features-

The abilly to plant mines on anything like roads,buildings/walls etc..
New parts,roadways and updated city
A.I. is has improved
Use people as Shields in gun fights
You can customize you house, cars, and your character.
New Weapons and they are working on the draw distance.
The story sounds better and more to a point than the frist.

GTA IV (4) features-

You play as a Russian named Niko.
New detailed Liberty City, which is based on the Eastside - New York and New Jersey.
No more loading screens as you play.
A whole new mark in the GTA series, everything redone new engine, graphics and Motion.
Getting into cars are not as easy as just opening the open and driving off- you have to break the window and hotwire, also you have to sneak and make sure no one is looking.
People can report crimes on you on their phones.
You can lose health if in a car or motorcycle crash.
Police and People AI are more intelligent, realistic, and diverse.
Getting away from cops are better and more real, you have to hide or lay low till the heat gets off you.
The Gun fighting is going to be more like GEARS OF WAR, cover,shoot,blind shooting,ducking and all the other works.
Only heilcoppers, New Cars,motorcycles, New Boats, taxi and train rides.
The abilly to hold multiple active missions and trip-skip like San Anderas
Access to in game Cell Phone and web-sites over 100 installed.
You can change Niko's outfit only.
Take Niko's girl(s) out
Online play will be more like Saints Row 1,Death Match and Cops Vs Robbers.

As long as neither one of them is like San Andreas, then they're both okay in my book.

Saints Row 2 because of Protect Tha Pimp

Totally both. And although they're similar, I think they're on different levels.

I loved Saints Row, especially with all the little cheats (like the evil cars one.)

And I love GTA. I do have a problem with not being able to customize your character. I guess they wanted the whole story to be an experience.

Whats wrong with San Andreas? that was is favorite GTA to date.

To me, it seemed a little... artificial. Even with all the things to do between buying food, getting haircuts, working out, exploring the towns, or just doing the mission, none of it seemed to accomplish anything. Same thing with Bully, but to a lesser extent.

Then again, I did like GTA1 and Saints Row and I've yet to play GTA4. It could just be me.
