I think that the Brass instruments are very overrated. In my band, at least, the brass always hold precidence over the woodwinds, especially the flutes. It frustrates me so much because there are more woodwinds that brass put together, and we hardly get any songs that have a woodwind feature in it!!! Grrrr!!!!!!!!! evil evil

Yea well at my school there woodwinds over power brass just a bit..but Flute Clai and Trumpet get the songs..i hate it being a trombonist we get crappy background beat stuff evil

it's like that at our school. the brass basically overpower the woodwinds, and the lowest of the low sections,
the back row! (tuba, bass clarinet and baritone saxaphone)

at my school we all get treated equally with important parts for songs. ^^; but we mostly have trumpet solo's cause thats what the band director before the one we have now ordered cause the rest were like trombone, clarinet, flute and euphonium.

I actually changed from clarinet to bassoon because I preferred playing the (awesome) countermelody. redface
