There was nothing like being a father. Kiganja had known no other joy quite like this one. His children were all as beautiful and as healthy as could be, thanks to their mother who was, as far he could, the gods' gift to the world. There was a gentle breeze on the air that shielded them from the powerful heat of the sun's rays. He rested comfortably by the side of a shallow river that flowed with a stubborn and kind of feeble force. It pushed it's way through the middle of the savanna, and was ideal for small creatures like cubs (and prey) to play around. It was deep enough to cool down in, but not so deep that his beloved children were in any real danger of drowning. Kiganja wasn't sure how long they'd been traveling. The moon had come and gone too many times for him to keep track of. He did know, however, that there was no place he'd rather be than right here, right now. Unlike his own father, Kiganja was a family man through and through. He had every intention of giving his children and his lovely mate the lives they deserved, for as long as he was able.

The small white cub stayed close to her parents, but was still quite happy to be around her siblings. There was a certain freedom to the open air that she loved... though she never let any members of her family out of her sight. She was terrified... though she would never admit it, to let them get too far away.
Mkia grinned and ran towards her father, seeking out her siblings and her mother as she looked around the wide-open space. This was so much fun! Now all she wanted to do was climb a tree.

Lochal was blissfully napping in the sun, his paws twitching as he imagined hunting with his father. The sweet grasses tickled his nose, and he awoke with a sneeze, shocking himself out of sleep. Yawning widely, he made his way over to his father. Sitting himself down, he quietly put his head on his paws, and yawned again.
Lochal loved to nap. He had large bursts of energy but then suddenly felt sleepy all of the time, and constantly napped. It probably drove his siblings nuts, especially since he could probably sleep through a stampede of wildebeests, if the need to ever arose.
Lochal started to snore. He felt very safe by his parents and siblings and was content to snooze his life away.

Ohenewaa had been blessed through and through. It was amazing that her world, which had started with such simple beginnings, had transformed in to something so glorious. Never had she thought herself lucky enough to find such a beloved mate and often, in the solace of night, had she wondered if she didn't deserve his love and affections. When they'd first met, she had never thought he might look upon her with all the love that she could catch within his gaze; he sometimes wasn't easy to read, but he'd blessed her with a devotion that many animals on the savanna could only dream about.
And now. . . . well. . . life had only gotten better. Kiganja had given her the greatest gift, and their love had produced three beautiful, wonderful cubs. Never had she found herself so entranced by young ones; never had she felt such instant affections and need to protect as she did now. The little cubs, all three of them, were forever tattooed upon her heart, competing only with her adoration from Kiganja. Subdued as ever, the patient female pausing in her vigorous grooming to watch the young ones at her feet. Two had ambled closer to her red furred beloved, and Ohenewaa decided that such an idea was tempting. Offering a lazy yawn from the afternoons heat, the leopardess gave a might stretch, allowing her claws to tap softly against the ground, before she padded over to Kiganja.
She pausing only to offer Mkia an affectionate nuzzle and luck, before carefully stepping over the now snoozing Lochal. Teal eyes bright, she said nothing as she settled comfortably beside her mate, but no words were needed. Her tail wrapped loosely about him as she gazed down in pride at her little family. . . . their little family.
But this was but the beginning of a glorious life. Any doubts she might have felt, any concern she once harbored over their future were now washed away like sand in the sea. Great times were ahead and meant for them, and Ohenewaa looked forward to them.

The five of them painted a beautiful picture together. This was something that Kiganja knew, and it was also something that he took a great amount of pride in. While, he had not always been subjected to the best treatment at the paws of his father, the leopard could not deny the fact that his family had many numerous and enviable traits. Everybody he knew that he was related to was on the stronger side and, while not all of them were the brightest people he'd ever met, Kiganja couldn't help being grateful for his 'lucky' genes as he gazed at his family through contented, half-lidded eyes.
When Ohenewaa, who had many just as many wonderful genetic contributions to their children as he had, got up and made her way towards him, he shot her a delighted grin and nuzzled her softly with his nose. She was all that he could ever have hoped to find in a lady, and so much more special than he ever gave her credit for. If he'd known what an ice cream sundae was, Kiganja would have described Ohenewaa as the bright red cherry at the very top. Somehow, she made everything sweeter.
He turned his attention from his mate and directed it at the pair of his children that had gathered nearby. Mkia was a sweety, if a little bit clingy, who never failed to make him laugh. Lochal, on the other hand, reminded Kiganja a lot of himself.
An amused smirk twisted the corners of his mouth upwards as the little boy snored the day away. It wasn't so long ago that he'd be the exact same way.
"Shhh," he winked and whispered at Mkia, while pressing one sneaky paw to his lips for emphasis. Then, he gestured at Lochal's sleeping form and mischievously nodded his head once at his daughter as if to say; 'bug him. Somehow.'

Mkia grinned, catching her father's eye right away. She quickly crouches down, dragging herself along the ground until she stood right above her brother. She slowly got up and grinned, placing her face almost directly over his, before she said a loud, "BOO!" Right into his face.
She quickly ran away though, running right behind her father, in hopes of staying hidden from her brother, after he awoke. She loved her brother, but teasing him on occasion could be... oh so very much fun. Still, she couldn't play around with him a lot if he was going to sleep the day away, now could she!? Still... as long as he stayed asleep, he wouldn't wander away and leave her. But he might stay and play if he was awake... and even though Mkia hated being alone more than anything, she would rather play than watch him sleep! Besides, maybe her parents would play a game too, if they were all there. Now she just had to figure out where her sister had wandered off too...

The midday sun beat down upon their little den, and shined beautifully on a small cub's spotted pelt. Penzi'Moyo hid behind her mother while her other sister began teasing her brother. She didn't know what exactly was going on, but she forced her eyes shut hoping they would just let her sleep. She was not in the mood for playing jokes and pouncing around, so she just tried to stay as calm and quiet as she could hoping that no one would notice her. The timid little cub made some little peeping sound without really meaning to while she tried hiding from all of the interaction.

Lochal snorted awake, his paws flailing wildly at the sudden increase of noise. Lurching to his feet, Lochal looked around, more afraid than angry. Composing his frantically beating heart, Lochal lurked around his parents, knowing that Mkia would never go too far away. She was far too timid yet at the same time, seemed to enjoy tormented poor Lochal. Lochal turned and saw Mkia and snarled, pretending to be angry with her. With a lunge he jumped at her, aiming beside her but close enough to startle her.
"Tag!" Lochal yelled, and prodded her with his paw. Lochal giggled and tried to clamber over his father. Being asleep made you miss a lot of fun, and Lochal was happy that Mkia wanted to play with him. But he wished Penzi would join in the fun.

Mkia let out a small 'Eep!' of suprise as her brother jumped beside her, but she didn't honestly think that he would try and hurt her. She loved it when he started playing with her, as she was very playful by nature. Despite her timid ways whenever she got too far away from them, when she was with her family she was very excitable and good-natured... in a teasing way.
She laughed happily when he tagged her. Then she went to crawl over their father after her... glancing around for Penzi as she went. If she couldn't find her sister, she would just go after Lochal... but if she caught sight of the other cub, she would be sure to get her to join in the fun!

((Sorry for the delay! I'm back in my home state now so life is good. x3 ))
Ohenewaa gave a soft purr in her throat as her beloved nuzzled her. Kiganja was her world, and she adored him like none other. Though there had been objections from her family over her choice of mate, she had listened to them not; though she had suffered criticism and had even turned away from her family members, the leopardess never doubted for a moment that the red and black spotted male was meant for her. They were in this together, and had suffered more than a few battles to see their love true - but with three little cubs to call her very own, Ohenewaa knew that the gods had smiled down upon them.
The brown and tan furred feline brushed against her mate, nuzzling her face against his neck before she turned towards her cubs. Mkia and Lochal were playing, which of course brought her to delight; it was better than sleeping the afternoon away! But there were two. . . . where was the other?
A sniff to the air, and without moving much Ohenewaa swiveled around in her seat to spot the remaining cub. Green eyes softened as she stood, bridging the distance between herself and Penzi. "Boo!" She chuckled gently, reaching out playfully with a paw to ever so affectionately swat at her peeping little baby. Without waiting for a reaction, Ohenewaa leaned down with every intention of snagging the little cub within her jaws, tucking her firmly in her grasp, and grooming her from top to bottom. Penzi needn't play, but all her cubs could stand a little grooming. . .
It amazed the brown mother how quickly her cubs were growing. It wouldn't be too long before she'd be unable to pick them up! Oh, if only time would just slow down.
