Her fur was pale as the winter snow only dotted with the odd patch of jet black. The young lioness lay quietly peaceful, a calm seemingly emitted from her as she lay there below one of the many acacia trees of the pridelands. A small breeze ruffled her short fur and she let out a slow, relaxing breath before eyes of softest jade opened to greet the world.

Looking to her side she admired the little bundle of fluff which lay sleeping beside her. Her only child, Ghilt, the light at the end of her tunnel. Smiling happily she shifted carefully so as not to waken the dark child that lay curled at her belly, simply moving to release some tension from her bunched up limbs.

Tilting her head slightly to the sky, the dappled light ran over her face as she admired the sun through the ragged branches above. It was the perfect day though she felt company would certainly be appreciated.

Arasi needed a serious break. Better yet, one of these days...he needed to move out of the family den. It was getting much, much too cramped. He'd have to wait, though - he couldn't bring himself to leave his mother and their nanny Sheshe to tend to ten cubs all by their lonesome. Aziza sort of helped, but his sister just wasn't mature enough for motherhood. She still spent most of her time away from the den, leaving her five cubs to the family to take care of; she was more friend than mother.

None of them really minded, though. Shomoro was thrilled to have grandcubs, Sheshe felt much the same, and Arasi was happy to help. He did need to get away now and then, though, away from the close quarters and many voices. Enjoying the quiet awway from the den, he sighed happily as he walked.

Her round tufted ears twitched as she looked out over the lush pridelands, the sound of someone approaching put her on edge but she calmed ehrself, seeming uptight never got anything done. She took a deep breath and with a voice full of whispered words the young adult spoke. "Who's there?" She puurrs her sopft, watery green eyes searching through the tall grasses for the stranger.

It had been hard for Radi since returning to the pridelands, though not nearly has hard as being out of them, to readjust herself to it's way of life. She had grown up here but her trust had faded slightly since her 'adventure' away from the lands she knew.

Still, she had to be polite, most likely whom ever was comeing did not want to harm her and if they did she would fight tooth and claw to protect her child. One good thing had come from her unfortunate time outside, Ghilt, her boy.

Arasi was a stranger to suspicion, fear, and uncertainty. He'd grown up in a secure, loving family, and had never left his home - and had no desire too, either. Chances were, he'd live here until the day he died, and became just another part of the circle of life. The want to harm another was also completely unknown to him. Though she had no way of knowing it, the white and black lioness had nothing to worry about from him.

At the sound of the soft voice, he smiled cheerfully, seeking the speaker. "Hello! I'm Arasi, son of Shomoro."

Radi's ears perked gently at the sound of the others voice, her pale, emerald green eyes finally catching full sight of the large, thick maned male. She smiled softly as he introduced himself. Noone bar a pridelander would speak in such a way. He announced himself.

Lifting her head slightly, she took in the scent of good health, well being and that sandy, green scent of the world she knew so well. This was definately a pridelander.

"Greetings to you Arasi, I am Radi, Daughter of Tufani." She whispers, her gentle lilting tones floating gently through the long grass. "I appologise if I sounded skittish, it's a little unnerving being alone sometimes." She coos, her gaze fixing upont he pale form she could now make out through the grassy fronds.

"It's nice to meet you, Radi," he offered sincerely. "Don't worry, it's nothing to apologize for - I ought to have introduced myself sooner." He'd quickly noted that she was not alone, and was careful to speak softly.

Arasi couldn't help but peer at the sleeping cub, curious. They were certainly related! As he often helped to watch over his siblings, nieces, and nephew, he'd been mistaken for the father of them more than once, and so he didn't immediately assume she was the mother. "Is he yours?"

Radi smiled weakly at the large male her watery green gaze watching silently over him as he spoke. His tones were so comforting to her, though she had been spoken to in such a manner before, and tricked, she could tell that this male was not here to hurt her. For one he smelled of children, the scent of cubs drifted off him like a cool refreshing breeze on a hot day.

She decided he must be a devoted father of cubs some where within the pridelands. When he motioned to Ghilt she turned ehr head to look at the sleeping infant. "Oh yes, he's my only one." She puurrs, she was so proud of her small furry ball of fluff and she would have faught to the death for him, should she have felt the need to.

"And you, do you have any children of your own?" She coos her voice always barely above a whisper. Her smile flickered shyly, perhaps this was too intrusive a uestion to ask a stranger? "I'm sorry if thats very forward of me, it's just, you smell so heavily of cubs." She flushed slightly, her cheeks burning red, she couldn't help but feel shy, it had been a long time since she had spken to another adult that wasn't a member of her family.

Just one. Arasi was used to many more than that! His cousin Mira had been an only cub, however, so he did know it was possible...it was just odd, when you were used to four or more.

"Me? Oh no," he answered with a sheepish smile. "It's my little brothers and sisters, and my sister's cubs too. There's an awful lot of them. Oh, and it's alright. I don't mind."

"Ohh.." Radi chuckled softly, her soft watery green gaze flickering over the big male before her. He was a nanny then? "You are a nanny for your family? I have never heard of a male nanny before." She whispers, curiosity in her gaze. She had heard of plenty of females being nannys and looking after the cubs of the whole family, but a male, even she found that strange.

"It must be fun to have so many youngsters runing around. I should really bring Ghilt further in, he's growing up without any friends." She whispers looking loovingly upon the jet black bundle. "I had five brothers and sisters myself, I feel a little sorry for him being alone, just with his mother."

"Well, I'm not really a nanny," he clarified, embarassed, "I just help out. Mom needs a break sometimes, y'know?"

"Maybe he could come visit sometime? Or I could bring one to visit him? Rika's pretty friendly.." It was hard to imagine being an only cub, with his mother all to himself. He wasn't sure if he liked that idea or not.
