I need to stop posting my rants in multiple places.

Have you ever had one of those moments where you read or watched something so remarkable, you just have to simply talk about it to whoever just to get it off your chest? Well, I have a ton of those moments, and this moment in particular is concerning Kusunoki Kei's Bitter Virgin. With a title like that, it definitely sounds like generic shoujo series number 5, happy-go-lucky "I don't want to like this guy but I like him" shoujo series, or something like that, but it's actually a seinen. It's not just random school stuff with sci-fi elements like Haruhi either, but it's just something else. Daisuke is your normal high school boy who does stuff and rates girls and such. At the moment, he's with a whore named Kazuki, which seems to be an odd name for a female, but I really don't know much about Japanese names. Anyways, he said he'd date all except Hinako, the innocent, pure virgin type of girl. Daisuke has his special hiding place in this church place that no one goes to since it's rumored to be haunted, which is a lie he made up. Hinako, who is new to the town, enters in and confesses some secrets Daisuke wasn't supposed to hear. In her old town, Hinako lived with her mother and her to-be-stepfather. This stepfather was a horrible man, as they tend to be in most cases. When her mother was to come home late, the stepfather would rape Hinako at night. Later, it is discovered that Hinako is pregnant. Her mother thinks she is doing bad stuff and thinks the stepfather has no part in this. Hinako gets an abortion, life goes back to normal. The stepfather comes again and rapes her again. Hinako gets pregnant again, but she cannot get an abortion, as it will not allow her to become pregnant again. Her mother kicks out the stepfather, finally realizing after it had been too late. Hinako ends up having the baby and puts it up for adoption. Well, this all comes to a shock to Daisuke, and he feels a need to protect her. However, Hinako is afraid of men now, and this whole series is probably going to involve getting back to normal after such trauma. It has only been 23 chapters, and this is really good. Many issues dealt with include rape, child birth, still births, and many others. In the end, the whole pregnancy issue, I don't feel right blaming anyone. It is probably the stepfather's fault for doing such a thing to his stepdaughter. Then again, it is the stepdaughter's fault for not trying harder to resist and call the cops. At the same time, it is the mother's fault for being completely ignorant to the obvious and believing a guy she knew for ten months compared to her daughter. Kazuki is a really annoying female character and reminds me of the whole ganguro thing other than the fact that she doesn't have tanned skinned. It's still disgusting though. Yuzu, the third female character, doesn't seem to be that bad either. The only problem is that she's the childhood friend, and the childhood friend always gets nowhere in most series. Especially since this is written by a female, the one with the best chance is the strange girl who is associated with the male lead. Kazuki is unbearable, Yuzu is tolerable, and Hinako is probably the best fitted. Daisuke is a really good male lead and his self control is better than most seinen male leads. He reminds me in Hosaka in the sense that he's able to put up with their bad past for the sake of love. Kazuki isn't stealing Hinako's first kiss or first time. Hosaka is able to put up with the fact that Haruka already has kids, even though those are just her siblings she's taking care of. Hosaka is a genuinely good guy. He deserves a loving happy family.
