He yawned, walking across the grasses rather lazily. Makani had just been running again, his usual insanely high speed(well, insane since it was for no particular reason! ) and now was just walking to wear it down. He was near where Freya was with the girls(and this time, the boys, since he'd dropped them off for the day), on one of his constant visits. This was the one litter where the kids wouldn't be able to complain about a 'deadbeat father', and they were.. roughly, a happy family. Just mommy and daddy weren't mated, and the girls lived with mom and the boys travelled with dad and they came home about twice a week! Siiimple, no?

Now, just what else should he do..?

Skuld knew he would be about... That father of hers. She didn't know quite what to make of her family. She got to see everyone often enough... but... She felt it was still broken in a way. This she would never complain about to her family, since everyone else seemed content. She just... found it... not right. She resented her father for not being mated to her mother, but as before, the female would never vocalize it.

Instead, she decided she had a better way to use her time, yes. The bone-clad cheetah cub ducked down in the grass and slunk her way forward, step by step as the stranger, Siri, had taught her. Then, when she was close enough to her target, and she bolted forth with the speed that her parents had given her, leaping at her father's tail, aiming to bite it and continue on her path. She could only hope she'd gone unnoticed.

And the next thing Skuld would feel was the back of a foot on her forehead.

"Why, hello there, little Skuld! I can see you're even worse at his than your sister. " Makani grinned, turning his head to look at the cheetah cub. He knew better by now, because of the white cub, that he shouldn't be around 'home' and not be ready for an assault. As a cub, however, neither of the kids had quite enough grace(or seed) to sneak up on an experienced guy like Makani. Especially not with those.. clunkety bones.

"I know you like the bones, dear, but whenever you're trying to "hunt", I suggest you take them off. " What exactly had happened? Makani'd hear her, lifted his tail and stopped her leap with a hind foot. Simple as that. "Noisy, gives you all away, y'know. They hit eachother once, and thats all a gazelle will need to fly off! " Not to mention. straight bones like that on her paws just didn't bend. When she grew and truly had the ability to run like a real cheetah, they might seriously slow her down. Perhaps even get in the way and make her trip; in the cheetah world, even a twisted ankle was terribly dangerous. They relied on speed to survive, should something go wrong... Lets just say, don't try and rely on brawns you don't got.

The male turned to face the cub, lying down before her with his tail twitching at his sides. He hadn't quite expected to have had them(they probably knew it, Freya was every bit as fliratuous as Makani; it was clear neither had exactly planned cubs! ) but he didn't resent them either.

He was, however, slightly disappointed with Skuld, in a way. She worried him. Verdandi, Urd, Loki and Xippi were happy, pleasant enough little kids. But Skuld was somehow.. different. Skuld was all wrong in his eyes, odd.. broken? And he had no idea how to fix it. He wasn't even sure what it was, though he knew it was there. He'd picked up she'd never been all that fond about flirting(though, of course she'd never said anything), and perhaps even about the fact he and Freya weren't mates. But.. that just shouldn't be enough.

However, he was as good an actor as he was a charmer, and none of this could be picked up; not by the gaze that he locked on her or even a ripple of his fur. He seemed perfectly normal, and to those who knew him, it could be startling. You never knew exactly what was going on behind those neat green eyes.

"And after assaulting my tail, what were you planning on doing? " He smirked through half closed eyes, ears perked. "You do know I don't like that, right? " He quirked a brow, he didn't get why those cubs just couldn't take no.

Skuld landed with a heavy plop to the ground from the sudden stop. She'd prepared her musckles to continue going, not to run into something solid in mid-flight. She uncoiled herself and sat down, tail flicking behind her, clearly frustrated. She gave her father a glare, though not one full of blatant hate, but that she'd wished he'd at least let her fly on past! Foot to the forehead wasn't exactly a good feeling.

Her ears flattened against her skull as well. She didn't just like the bones she wore, she loved them. A comfort blanket, of sorts. At first, she'd thought them cool for their looks, but now... She'd come to the realization that they could also have a function. Cheetah cubs weren't anywhere near as fast as an adult, and the only thing she could outrun were other cubs. Should something try to trample her, attack her, whatever, those bones would break before her own would. But her father did have a point, and she didn't want to admit it. "Yeah, I guess..." She muttered, contemplating whether to take them off now. On top of everything else, the experience had been more than embarrassing for the cub.

She pondered for a moment at his next question... What was she planning on doing after she had his tail? "I dunno what I would've done," She admitted finally, "I guess chew on it." Never was there a more cub-like response. "And I know you don't like it, that's were half the fun is!" Spoke too soon, there's the ultimate typical response.

Well, now this was awkward. She was too proud to admit defeat, and decided she'd just ignore the issue- it was the only way that Skuld could see. She glanced around for a bug or something interesting to go look at and bring back, but nothing in particular caught her eye. Skuld plucked a blade of grass and flopped on the ground, rolling over onto her back. The blade of grass stuck out from between two of her toes as she ran her eyes thoughtfully over it, though there wasn't much to think about. She'd spent many days before she'd been allowed to roam far pondering the grass, and she didn't enjoy pondering it much more. "So, have you seen a lizard, ever?" Skuld asked randomly. She was sure he had, but felt she needed to ask.

Never, not once, did the idea that she concerned her father enter Sukld's head. However, she couldn't help feeling different in her family as the only one who saw a problem with the way the family was living. She thought her parents saw her as normal, and she was the only one who thought she was different.

"How predictable, " He teased, curling his tail around his paws. "I don't make you do stuff you don't like, " Makani snorted, poking her semi-playfully. He was more of the "fun parent", if anything.

"Of course I have. Have you? You know, not those tiny.. boring ones, a real one? " He raised his brows, resting his chin on a paw and swishing his tail to the side , rolling, twisting, curling and uncurling it. This wasn't for any particular reason, though. He just liked to move his tail.

By real lizard, however. He meant crocodiles; the boys had certainly seen them before, bu he highly doubted Freya would have taken them anywhere near the "dangerous waters".

Skuld's father knew how to hit her curious spot. Her brow furrowed thoughtfully, she thought the thing she'd seen was a real lizard, she'd trapped it under her paw, after all! It wasn't an illusion, and it wasn't that tiny, (after all, by tiny, she envisioned a lizard the size of an ant.) "I think I have..." She didn't even know crocs existed, how would she know that she'd never seen one? "It was about this big-" Skuld held her paws about 6 inches apart. "- I cut its tail off on accident- but I didn't mean to! I felt sorry for it..." Skuld added on defensively. She felt guilty for having done that to the poor thing, she wouldn't have liked to have her tail cut off. Skuld was fond of her tail.

"Why, what's a real lizard like?" Skuld asked, tilting her head. A new animal she hadn't ever seen before? Could it be?
