Just minutes ago I PMed a moderator about getting my old account back. It's the same mod that helped me get the guild back when I was scammed, so hopefully she will be just as willing to help. <3 I just want everyone to hope, wish, and pray that she helps me get my account back. And I just wanted to let you guys know that I'm still trying. xD
(guild oldies know the situation about how my old account, `PrimeRib, was scammed and banned back in September of 2007.)
Edit: I have bad luck. sad

Hey Umaeril! I don't know if you remember me (my old username was CityScene), but you helped me out with a guild issue a while back. I'm still very thankful for your help, you're truly a blessing! I've been hoping that you'll be able to help me with an even bigger issue.
On September 10, 2007, I opened a PM of someone asking me to vote for them in the avatar arena. Wanting to help, I clicked the link they gave me and was brought to Gaia's sign-in page. Not thinking anything of it, I signed in and was brought into the arena where I voted a ten. At the time, I didn't realize this was a scam. I just thought that Gaia glitched and signed me out. Within minutes I found out that I was very, very wrong.
People started sending me messages claiming that I was trying to scam them, when I would never do anything like that. That's when it hit me; the avatar arena PM was a scam! The scammer was sending out scam messages from my account, so all of my friends thought that I was trying to scam them. People even reported me!
After about five to ten minutes of panic, I tried to change my password, but it was already too late. The scammer signed me out of my account, and I was no longer able to sign into my account. I was devestated. The next day, I tried to log into my old account, hoping that I would be able to sign in. The page told me that my account was banned. Mods must of banned my account because they thought I was the scammer.
I made a new account (this account) and looked up the profile of my old account. Everything still appeared to be on my avatar (Golden Laurels, Baby Seal Slippers, Guitar of Angellus, Pixie, Bani Clips, Winged Anklets, etc.) I think that moderators banned the real scammer before he was able to take any of my items, which I'm thankful for, but it's still a bummer that I cannot get into my old account.
A few months ago I sent a hand-written letter to Gaia Online about the scamming, hoping that they would help me. Nobody helped me, but one of the admins put a note in my old account stating that I could get my account back when a moderator helped me. This is where I'm hoping you will help me. Please, Umaeril. You're my only hope! Thank you for your time.

Hello,
I do remember you, I am glad I could be of help at that time. I am not a hacking or scamming moderator so my assistance will be limited at this time.
We understand that your account was hacked and the hacker is the one that did all the damage to get your account banned.
Your first step would have been to try the password recovery link. Did you do that? Was the email changed as well as the password?
Next step would have been to fill out a hacking report. Did you do that?
Also, which admin contacted you? Was that via email? If so, do you have a copy of that? Or maybe a PM?
Thank you,
- Umaeril
Thanks for replying!
The scammer changed my e-mail, so I am not able to recover my password. Besides, even if I did, I wouldn't be able to get back into my account. My account was banned, too.
I did fill out a hacking report...the day after the situation happened. I still haven't received any replies about it. I'm afraid that they won't be able to reply because I changed my username or something. I have friends who got scammed years ago, and they still havent gotten any replies from mods about their hacking forms. It just worries me that I'll never get help.

Hello -
We received the letter that you've written to us about your account `PrimeRib.
If you've filled out a scamming report (or hacking report) then your account will be returned to you.
I've made a note in your account that you were scammed and then your account used to phish passwords from other users.

Ok, well as Taligator said, if you've filled out a hacking report you will get the account back. Make sure to save that message by the way. Now "when" is problematic. It does take a long time. Don't quote me on this, but I have heard some users say that it has taken many months.
You will be contacted by PM to the account that made the hacking report. The name change should not matter. But if you want to tell me the name under which you made the hacking report and what it was changed to then I can mention that in your account.
That is about all I can do. I cannot expedite your case. It is in the database waiting for review. And they will eventually get to it. I know it is hard to wait and I apologize for the delay but they are working as quickly as they can.
