 The starry marked mare bounded along the melting snow looking for some fun to have. She hadn't been home to see her parents in a long time though she had found out that her brother had a mate and children which she found out the hard way. Now it was time for some exploring and hopefully maybe coming across her brother wherever he may be. As this hyper active mare bounded along she couldn't help but wish that spring would hurry and come. She wanted to chase the butterflies again and see the pretty colors of the flowers.
Coming across a stream of unthawed water Del'nal paused to take a drink. The water was very cold and it made her shiver as she drank a few sips. Raising her head a couple of water droplets fell from her chin and she pulled her wings in close to her, trying to warm herself up. "I wish there was someone about. It'd make the boring colors of winter look better if there was someone other then me about." The mare said aloud to herself. Winter really bored her.

Adamu was wandering a bit far from home, himself. He himself didn't find winter boring, but the lack of anyone else out here was slightly depressing. He had a large family, and liked being near them...even if his sisters liked to explore more than he did. He'd finally given in to his curiosity, however...and now, found himself staring at a dark mare, streaked with silver and winged as his mate-brother and nephew were. "Hello there..." he said softly, hoping not to startle her.
(( Mate-brother seems a better word to use than brother-in-law, even if it's not an actual word. xD ))

Hearing someone talk Del'nal whirled around to face the newcomer. "Hi!" she said excitedly not caring that he had slightly startled her. She was just excited that there was now someone around. "I didn't hear you come near. I must have been caught up in my own thoughts." The mare was starting to go on one of her famous rambling sprees. "My name is Del'nal. What's yours? Most others call me Del for short. Do you know any of my family?" A subconsciouses thought tried to say it's mind that she should calm down or she'd scare everyone away but she ignored it.

Adamu laughed good-naturedly, grey eyes warming. "It's nice to meet you too, Del'nal. My own name's Adamu, but I'm afraid you're quite new to me, as your family would be. I don't know anyone really, except for my own family." Her energy was amusing, to say the least...it was such that one could almost imagine being swept up in it themselves. "How's the water?" he queried, dipping his head at the rushing stream.

"Oohh." Del said in aw as she listened to him say that he didn't know anyone. "I don't really know that many either. I know the butterflies though. Butterflies are really pretty!" She smiled as she thought about the butterflies she had seen during the summer. "Oh! The water is really cold but it's good. I wish it was summer again though. Then I can see all the pretty butterflies again." She was amused by the simplest of things.

"Butterflies?" A winter foal, Adamu had never seen a butterfly. This mention of a beautiful 'butterfly' creature was intriguing. "I'm sorry if this sounds stupid, but...what's a butterfly? I really mean it, I don't know what a butterfly is," he added hastily, and a touch plaintively. Maybe his sisters had it right, if there was this much to learn about the world. What other creatures did he know nothing of. Places? Things?

Never hearing of butterflies!? That was almost sacrilegious and her eyes opened up wide. "You've never seen a butterfly?" she asked not meaning any offense. "A butterfly is this really pretty insect that can fly. Some of the others in the land have wings not like mine but like a butterfly!" she exclaimed still not quite believing it herself. She heard of them but never seen them. "But they are really pretty and can have just one color or many many colors! They also come in different sizes to but never bigger then a flower though. Also very delicate they are too. At least from what I've heard. I've never been able to get close enough to find out if it really is delicate or not." The mare could keep on rambling on about butterflies all day if she could.

"Oooooh..." Despite himself, Adamu's eyes widened in childlike wonder. "If that's so, then I'd very much like to see one! There is so much I don't know...what other beauty does nature have yet to reveal to me?" The question was musing, almost to himself, though his eyes were still on Del'nal. "Perhaps you could show me some of your favorite places to go? My sisters explore much more than me, so I'm not very good at it."
