The chocolate brown lioness had yet another restless night, uncomfortable being so far away from her familiar stomping grounds. She knew the urgency of their travel and understood that it was hard for all of the displaced pride, but it felt harder for her for some reason, her abdomen was uncomfortable and she was constantly flipping from side to side trying to get comfortable.
Deciding it was best just to get up and wander, and wondering if it was the great lion punishing her for being blasphemous and trying to be normal the slave walked off into the cool night air wondering what sort of trouble she would find herself in tonight, the moon was coming around again to being full and she wondered if he was looking down upon her.
"Oh, great lion," she murmured almost an exclamation as she walked.
(P.S. She's the lioness in my sig. XD)

Nyack sighed as he traveled through the darkness. He'd told his group he wanted time to himself to hunt. After all, three different animals had three very different styles of hunting. The male shook his green mane and gazed around, tail flickering.
He scented something in the wind. The violet eyed lion gazed up and saw another one of his kind, walking around. With a slow and steady steps he walked toward her, remembering Taban's warning about being too friendly. Instead he walked toward her. "Hello!" He called, tail flickering about excitedly.

Nerit nearly jumped out of her fur as she heard a voice coming near her, cursing herself for not being more perceptive the chocolate lioness looked up. Instinct told her to run from another lion in the dark, but she had met Riko, a sweet lion named Mioyo and many others since setting out on her journey, and why would this friendly seeming lion be bad?
"Hello there, lovely night, isn't it?" She said cheerfully, hoping this was no trick, she had never met a lion yet who was as bad as her past lover's brother, but she would not put it past a stranger to be mean.

He pinned his ears back as she jumped and lowered his head. "Ah, sorry for scaring you." He trotted the rest of the way up when he reveived her greeting in return. He had been told to trust no one but it was too difficult for him. He believed all to be good until proven otherwise. His violet eyes glinted and had a glow to them in the moonlight.
"Yes it is!" He grinned. "I'm Nyack...." His eyes noted that her belly was round and he blinked. She shouldn't be walking alone with a belly full of life. A smile broke out across his face. "Are you expecting?" He questioned, his tail twitching frantically.

"It's alright," she said cheerfully and then her whole demeanor changed, she looked sad and confused, "No, I don't think I am..I mean.." it was the first time she thought that perhaps her encounter with Riko could possibly have lead to something she was not prepared for, children.
"I don't think so," she said again thinking back to her discomfort with sleeping.
"I umm.." her slave nature was kicking in and she wanted to avoid a confrontation of any sort, "I'm Nerit," she said peacefully. She for now was being 'owned' or took orders from Shira, but she did not belong to any one lion, she was something of a community slave.

Nyack frowned deeply. "I ... didn't mean to upset you..." He said sitting down and putting his ears down. "I just... last time I saw a lionness..." He trailed off and lowered his head.
He smiled and lifted up his head again. "Nerit? That's very pretty." He offered as a peace offering. He didn't want to make her paranoid. "Do you live around here in a pride?" He sounded nervous and glanced around for males that might dismiss him dangerously. "But still... even if you aren't, its it dangerous to be wandering alone at night? I could walk with you if you'd like."

Nerit frowned deeply, not likening the idea of this lion taking her home, besides they had no home, they were travelers.
"No, my pride has been moving, looking for a place to stay, we all travel in small groups looking for the right conditions," she answered her expression lightening to a slight grin.
"I am not alone, I travel with a friend..you do not upset me," she added. She thought that he was very friendly, "You have a very nice name too."

"Really? That's kinda what we do... I'm traveling with a two cheetahs, a hyena and a wild dog. Its really cool!" His tail flickered quickly, catching the light. His ears went down slightly as he looked in the direction he'd come. He rather missed their company but he liked adventuring on his own. Taban had reassured him that all he had to do was roar and they would come to his aid. He knew everyone needed their time to themselves. Nyack grinned slightly. Taban was a great leader.
He shook his head and went back to the present. "A friend?" He glanced around for this secret friend. He gave her a smile and puffed up his chest, glad he didn't upset her. At the mention of his name he reddened slightly. "Thanks... it means never give up."

"I have only ever met lions, well until recently I met a hyena," she thought him traveling with so many different creatures was odd, like stayed with like. "Her name is Shira..she is odd and a great Shaman, I spend all of my time at her side right now..except at night."
"That is a lovely meaning for a name, I do not know what my own means," she answered him intrigued as to why so many people name their cubs certain things, she assumed the sound of a word was what drew the parent to the name in the first place, not it's meaning.

"I though hyena's were bad until I met Fubar." He grinned. His eyebrows furrowed. "Shaman?" He asked tilting his head to the side. "What's a Shaman?"
He proudly puffed his chest at the compliment. "Well I was told what it means by my Dad. He said mom gave us all that kind of name."

"A shaman is a..." she paused thinking, how to explain when she herself did not fully understand, "a shaman is a lion who has the ability to interpret things around them, and use plants for herbs, she can put people to sleep with plants. She's mystical." Awe crept into the chocolate lioness' voice as she spoke.
"I only knew my father a short time, and my mother the same," she smiled weakly, they had both perished in the war as far as she knew, they disappeared around that time best to think they were completely gone than to hold hope.
"Life goes on as always, the great lion shines upon us," she closed her eyes for a brief moment and looked back at the lion.

The male hesitated then nodded in undestanding. "I understand, I think... I've never met one but she sounds amazing!" He sounded in awe as well. Someone who could use plants for all that? He wished he could meet this lion.
His ears went down as she spoke of her past. "Oh... I"m sorry to hear that..." He murmered giving her a breif nuzzle on the shoulder. He nodded. "Yes... Life does go on and... sometimes it restarts." He cast another glance at her belly. He was almost sure... Still, who was he to judge?
"The way He shines upon us is sometimes unepxected."
