.::How did we find out about Farland Clinic?::.

After many failed attempts of getting his wife pregnant, the spirit of Lockesly walks out of the palace and stands on the edge of a platform, leaning against the rope railing, frustrated that he couldn't get his wife pregnant despite his "condition". Caitlyn curls up on the couch near the window in her bedroom in the palace. She watches her husband stand outside, the frustration is evident in his face and she frowns quietly before she looks down at her flat stomach wondering what they can do to create their own child. A beautiful red-head female slave goes by the name of Kaellynn pads into the bedroom with a hot cup of elven raspberry tea on a silver tray and she places the tray on the table near Caitlyn murmuring quietly, "What's wrong, dear?"

Caitlyn turns her head toward Kaellynn, a slavegirl she rescued on her way to her new home, and sighs quietly in frustration. "Its very frustrating.. Lockesly and I have been trying so hard to have a child, but we can't..." She tilts her head up, causing her blood-colored hair to cascade down to her lower back from the unruly bun on top of her head as her emerald eyes fills with tears. She bites down on her lower lip as she struggles, trying her best not to cry because she truely wants to have a child with her husband.

Kaellynn tries not to roll her eyes as she looks at Caitlyn. "The whole time we have been here," she says calmly, "I have not seen another soul. Are you feeling all right? You have been acting strangely even since we first met." Caitlyn slowly moves her eyes from the golden ceiling of her bedroom toward her female companion definantly. "I am feeling just fine.. are you telling me that i am crazy?" She stands up swiftly from the couch and looks down at Kaellynn since she is slightly taller than her. The feeling of frustration swells in her chest because she knows that she is the only one who could see her husband, Lockesly, and she does look strange talking to the air in front of other people. "Just go and get the books I have requested from the royal library" She dismisses Kaellynn as she turns her head toward the window.

Kaellynn bows deeply. "Forgive me, my mistress," she apologizes before quickly stepping out of the room. Caitlyn groans silently before she slumps back down on the couch, picking up the cup of hot steaming elven raspberry tea from the silver tray and brings the cup to her lips. She sips some of the tea as her mind starts to wander off, wondering about the miracle of the life and what would their child look like if they actually concieved the child. But the word "Farland" have been nagging at her mind every since she saw the sign outside of her kingdom border.

Lockesly sighs as he looks up at the raindrops falling from the treetop canopy high above him, wondering if he will ever be able to experience the rain again. Caitlyn turns her head toward the window and she could see the raindrops falling, its almost like the gods are crying for her husband and her. "I know, gods....we are trying our best...." She whispers to the falling raindrops as she sighs quietly while she continues to watch the rain. The raindrops seem to be forming the word "Farland" and Caitlyn blinks in confusion, leaning closer to the window to make sure that she is seeing properly and is not hallucating. Its almost like Farland is calling toward her and her husband to follow her or him or it.

Kaellynn walks into the room again carrying a few books. "These are the books you requested, mistress," She says as the girl almost spills her bundle onto the table. One of the books, bound in leather, almost beckons to the girls to be opened. Caitlyn jumps slightly at Kaellynn's voice before she turns her head toward the servant with a faint smile. A leather-covered book, half hidden in the pile of books catches Caitlyn's eye. ".... what is that book...?" She whispers to herself as she reaches over for the leather-covered book. She curls up on the couch with the book on her laps, and upon the cover reads "Love Lorn". The two 'L's are much bigger than the rest of the lettering which indicates that its Lockesly L`Crit's book.

Caitlyn blinks as she slowly opens the book, half-hoping that the book will be about this Farland person but in the back of her head she knows that its not possible because the title says different. An image of an elven man appears in the middle of the room. He is a slightly muscular man, with gleaming silver elven chainmail wrapping around his body, conforming to his every curve. A white tabard hangs in front and back, trimmed with blue and fastened by a leather belt at the waist. The chain leggings extend into his shin-high tan leather boots. On his back is strapped a two-handed sword, and a cutlass is sheathed on his belt. He has emerald green eyes, pointed ears, and shoulder-length blonde hair. Appearance-wise, he looks 18-21 in human years. One thing that caught Caitlyn's eye is that the man is translucent...almost like he is a ghost. He starts to speak, "My name is Lockesly L`Crit, crown prince to the elven kingdom I call home, and this is my journal, magically infused to record my deepest thoughts even after death. If you are reading this, then know that I am dead." The servant girl Kaellynn's eyes grow wide as she points to him. "Is he....?" she asks, not getting the nerve to finish the question.

Caitlyn smiles faintly at Kaellynn's question before she nods slightly. "Yes Kaellynn, he is my husband...it is a very interesting story actually.." She replies calmly before she turns her head toward Lockesly's image, not sure what she should do. The image just stands there, unmoving, almost like he is expecting something. Caitlyn smiles faintly at the image of her husband before she whispers softly. "Hey honey..." but the image stands unmoving. Kaellynn reaches over and turns a page of the book over. "I was born in the 215th year of the reign of the current Emperor," the image speaks. "I was born to loving, but strict parents, the king and queen of this kingdom. In the fifty years of my childhood, I have seen many sights and practiced many arts, but I was still only eight by human standards." Then the image stops talking, almost like its ending of that journal entry. Caitlyn tilts her head to side curiously as she looks at the image of her husband before she turns over the next page so she could learn more about her husband.

"In my 55th year of life, I was out in the meadow picking flowers for my mother when I met another elven girl about my age. I offered her a rose I picked, and she told me her name was Faenella, and she was aspiring to be a great bard. We both promised to be boyfriend and girlfriend." The image of her husband chuckles a bit, remembering. "Oh, how the mind of an 8-year old works." Its getting quite interesting as Caitlyn places the book on the wooden floor and lays down in front of the book on her stomach with her head propped up by her hand. She smiles warmly at her husband's image standing above the book and she turns over the next page when the image stops speaking.

"It is the 100th year of my life, and I have been seeing more and more of Faenella, whom was now enrolled in the Bardic Guild as a top student, and what was originally friendship has turned into true love. I asked her on my birthday if she would be my future bride, but she said she couldnt. She said my parents had forbidden it. I went to ask them, and they confirmed it. I could not marry a 'peasant girl'." The image sighs and shakes his head. A frown flickers on her petal-shaped lips and in her emerald eyes as she looks at her husband's image feeling dishearted. She sighs quietly as the image stops talking before she flips the next page over.

"It is the 115th year of my life, and the 10th year since Faenella and I wed in secret. Should anyone find out, my throne, my future, and my life would all be forfeit. But I do not care. I love this woman with all my heart. Already her passion for love has made her the new Bardic Guild leader. However, things are not all roses, as there is talk of war in the south between the Empire and the southern elven kingdoms. An alliance has been formed between the Imperial army and the orc hordes of the east, and it wont be long until they are at our doorstep," Lockesly speaks. Caitlyn feels a pang of jealousy growing inside her chest as she listens to her love talk about his true love. She sighs quietly as she resigns to the fact that she will always be the second fiddle to his true love, this Faenella woman. She frowns slightly as she turns over the page.

The image starts to speak again. "It has been 120 years since my birth, and today was the day I will never forget. While I was out practicing my swordsmanship and flute alone, the army of orcs ambushed the city in a surprise attack during the harvest festival. Dearest Faenella, now one year pregnant with my child, was cornered in her guild by the invading horde. She, and a few of the remaining guild members, defended the city well, but their efforts was in vain. Faenella was struck down by an orc's sword, and my father, the king and commander, was caught between the eyes by a crossbow bolt. I was busy playing my flute in a forest grove at this time, so I could not hear the footsteps of the approaching goblin assassins as they stalked behind me and slit my throat." Caitlyn moves her eyes from the unmoving image of her husband to the golden door in front of her, the image of her husband's father being struck down is vivid in her mind. She winces internally as she turns over the page.

"It has been 100 years since my death, and my soul is still bound to this land and cannot travel beyond the forest grove where I had died. However, I have had many visitors, most of whom were Imperial. But one, a young elven lass who's eyes sparkled brightly, as much as my long-lost wife. Out of all the visitors I had, she was the only one who could see and communicate with me. I knew that reincarnation is possible, but could it really be Faenella? She offered to dig me a grave and make me a gravestone, and I humbly accepted. She returned every night to work, but one night she was chased off by an Imperial patrol, and never returned..." Lockesly trails off. Caitlyn blinks as she tilts her head to side in confused manner, wondering what happened to that young elven lass her husband speaks about. She purses her lips as she slowly turns over the page to find out more about her husband.

Caitlyn's question have been answered...Lockesly starts to speak once again the page is being turned over. "It has been three hundred years since my death, and many incarnations have come and gone. I have learned that once an incarnation of my wife is born into this world, I can leave my forest grove and go to her. Several incarnations have been born since then, an elven druid, a human assassin, an Imperial Emperess... all of whom failed to reach my gravestone for one reason or another." Caitlyn blinks as she quirks her eyebrow, not sure if he is implying that she is the successful incarnation, and slowly turns over another page in hope that Lockesly will explain more.

"It has been a thousand years since my death, and I have met the latest incarnation of my long-lost wife, a girl by the name of Caitlyn from the Hellcloud family. Out of all the incarnations I have met, she is the only one who cared enough or was strong enough to be with me, despite my... condition." Lockesly speaks once more when the page is being turned over. Caitlyn smiles faintly as she stares at the image of her husband quietly. "Perhaps so... but what does that mean? does it mean that he loves me because I am incarnation of Faenaella?" She muses to herself, oblivious to the fact that Kaellynn is sitting next to her in open-mouthed awe.

Lockesly began to speak once again. "It has been a year living together in my forgotten kingdom with Caitlyn and her slavegirl, Kaellynn. On occasion, she feels like I love her only because of Faenella, which is half true. My soul is bound to Faenella, but I love the girl on the outside. Kaellynn, on the other hand, is frustrated with the fact that she thinks Caitlyn to be a crazy woman, as my wife is the only one who can see me." From the corner of Caitlyn's eyes, she could see Kaellynn looks around embaressedly and Caitlyn smiles faintly to herself. "Caitlyn and I have been trying every night to have a child, and every night is the same result. A ghost cannot reproduce. However, I have learned of a new clinic in a far away land that could help make the pregnancy a reality. I just hope it is not a waste of time or effort."

The flicker of excitement burst inside her chest as she hears Lockesly mention the new clinic, she bites down on her lower lip as she turns over the page hoping that Lockesly will say something about Farland and give her some answers. But to her dismay, the image starts to fade away speaking the last words "End of journal" before disappearing from the view. Caitlyn closes the book and hugs it to her chest, turning her face toward Kaellynn. "I will be back, I have to go and talk with my husband, so you go and get our things packed up." She nods at Kaellynn before she stands up. She sprints out of the palace and toward her husband.

Lockesly is standing out on the platform outside of the palace, holding out his hand to catch raindrops, hearing his wife approaching from behind. "In a thousand years I have never felt anything other than sorrow and loss. Ever since you have arrived, I have started to feel things... raindrops, hunger, love..." He speaks as Caitlyn looks at her husband while hugging the journal tightly to her chest. "What clinic were you talking about in your journal, Lockesly?" She is not the one to beat around the bush.

Lockesly doesnt break his gaze from his open hand, in which a few raindrops drop into. "The voices of my dead subjects speak out about Farland, a place where miracles of life can happen." Farland....yes!! She mentally cheered as she tries not to smile at her husband's back. "Farland... that word or name have been nagging at my mind for few days now. ....Do you think its possible for us to have that miracle of life?" She looks at Lockesly as small flame of excitement grows inside her chest.

Lockesly shakes his head before replying. "Sadly, I do not know, but I do know that we will never have a child together if we stay here. We must take the chance." Lockesly thinks to himself, "I hear they infuse the lifeforce of an animal into the child to make the pregnancy successful," he continues. "Do you wish to ask if they can infuse the lifeforce of a wren into our child? The wren was the symbol of the Bardic Guild both Faenella and I were a part of."

Caitlyn nods lightly as she smiles faintly. "I have no problems with that, my love. I got Kaellynn to pack up some things we will need for the travel. Lockesly adjusts his cutlass sheath upon his belt and brushes the raindrops off his suit of chain armor, grinning. "I'm all packed, as much as I can be."Caitlyn couldn't bring herself to smile back at her husband before she nods slightly, turning her back on him. She soundlessly walks back to the palace to help Kaellynn pack some things.

From the journal of Lockesly L`Crit, True Bard and Champion of Faenella.

24 Hearthfire, 1205th year of the current reign of the Emperor.
It has been a week since we arrived back home in our tree-top palace from our trip to the Farland Clinic, and everyone is exhausted. Caitlyn is tired from all the traveling, now that our impossible task of starting a family is a reality. I am surprised at how quickly the pregnancy is progressing. Already within a week she looks as if she is a few months pregnant. Perhaps it is a side-effect of the pairings of the lifeforce of a wren and the lifeforce of an undead spirit, maybe?
Kaellynn, our slave-girl (though by her own free will), is complaining about blisters on her feet and having to pull extra weight around now that she is going to be Caitlyn's midwife. I pity her, honestly, as there is nobody else that can perform any of the tasks required. She is the maid, cook, food gatherer, hunter, protector, and now midwife... I just wish we lived closer to civilization so that we could hire more people to help her and my darling wife out, but I know that can never be, as it would put the new queen of this kingdom (and now the new future princess or prince) in great peril if the Imperial Army ever found out about us.
I, myself, feel helpless. As a thousand year-old spirit, I cannot manipulate objects in the material world without concentrating on them heavily, and even then it is a spiritual and mental drain on my abilities. I just hope I will be strong enough to hold my own baby in my arms. Thankfully, this own journal requires only the power of my thoughts to function, a small consolation for not being able to assist my wife when she needs me the most. Even the sword I carry on my back at all times is just for show. Every swing of the blade results in the same thing... the cold, now ethereal, steel passing through the target, leaving it no worse for wear than before I struck.
I can hear Caitlyn calling out to me, and I am compelled to obey. Alas, this journal must wait for another day.

The Queen's Journal

It have been an emotional roller coaster for me. I was so excited when my beloved husband took me to the clinic and we finally got pregnant! I have a baby or babies growing inside me and I am in awe of the miracle of the nature...my husband and I agreed that we will use some of house wren's genes to infuse with our genes so he could honor his.....only love. As much it hurts me to think about it, he loves me because I am the reincarinate of his first and only love Faenaella. Sometimes I wonder what it will be like to be loved by a real breathing person and to be held, loved.. without my significant other struggling to stay solid so i can feel loved. Ah... alas....I need to close this book and wander to the kitchen to get myself something to eat.

Until next time..

From the journal of Lockesly L`Crit, True Bard and Champion of Faenella.

28 Hearthfire, 1205th year of the current reign of the Emperor.

Imagine my surprise the other day when I heard a knock on the palace doors. Kaellynn and Caitlyn were home, and nobody else knows where we are. When Kaellynn opened the doors, in fluttered a pint-sized little... "thing". I wouldnt exactly call him elven because he has wings and feathers growing out of his shoulder.
Apparently there's been a mistake at the clinic, and my lifeforce was potent enough to create a healthy, grown child... an exact duplicate of myself plus the attributes of a songbird.
As of this writing, I'm seriously debating taking him back, but Caitlyn will have none of it. He keeps CHEWING on my damn books! I cant keep the little b*****d away from my library. While he certainly has my affinity for ancient tomes, SOMETHING must have gone wrong. He seems to think my books are a delicious snack rather than something to expand his mind with. If I was dead, I would be rolling over in my grave right about now. Oh wait... I am.
Caitlyn has named him 'Saemaus', after the god of marriage, love, and pregnancy, but "Lil' b*****d" is more appropriate.
I can see Saemaus floating up toward the magical tomes I keep on the top shelf, so I must put an end to this journal entry. I have half a mind to sell Saemaus to the Empire.

The Queen's Journal

The 4 days since I wrote in my journal, many things have happened. But one event have been keeping me in stitches.. apparently my husband's lifeforce was potent and created a healthy and grown child and that child came knocking on the palace door. I can indeed say that my husband and my son is getting along quitely very well. (note the sarcasm and amusement) Saemaus apparently have taken liking to the books my dear husband Lockesly hoarde and he contiunes to chew n the book so I have ordered my maid to go out and get a book-shaped pacifier so Saemaus won't chew on any more of the books. Poor Lockesly is on his last straw, he keeps ranting and raving about wanting to sell his own child to the Empire. Speaking of a child and husband.. I can hear crashing and yelling..

Until next time..

From the journal of Lockesly L`Crit, True Bard and Champion of Faenella.

8th day of Frostfall, 1205th year of the current reign of the Emperor.

Things have gotten a lot easier now that Saemaus has discovered Caitlyn's journals and favorite books. It saves me the trouble of having to call over Kaellynn to remove the pest from my library again. What's even worse is that he babbles contently. It would be cute if any of it made any sense, but it doesnt. Occasionally he starts singing in a high-pitched voice, which must be coming from his songbird blood, but it annoys the hell out of me when I'm studying. I'm proud to be raising a future bard, but damn... this is worse than trying to conduct a violin concerto with flutists.
Another problem I see is that his namesake is showing quite well. We named him after the god of love and marriage, and just like his namesake (and his guild's reputation), he's become somewhat of a womanizer. He's now starting to follow Kaellynn around everywhere she goes. She doesnt mind the company since Saemaus stays his distance in the air, but I just cant wait for him to grow up and start actually chasing her. Note the sarcasm.
As far as Caitlyn and the baby goes, she's resting quite peacefully, eating healthy, and doing a few stretch exercises to prepare her for the birth. Other than the troubles with Saemaus, she's quite relaxed and content.
