There was a very specific word for this feeling, he knew that much; the time passed wandering the desert had at least led him to that much a conclusion. What feeling this was, however, was a totally different story. Despite the countless memories to access, he simply could NOT figure out what this was. And so, bumbling in his own thoughts, Uhamisho absent-mindedly wandered the outskirts of the pridelands.
Since.. whatever the thing was, that had happened, he couldn't remember things about himself; names, past experiences, emotions. He could still watch other's memories, watch their lives.. but no. Not his own. No matter how far back he went, or how deep he dug, there was no trace of the god he had once been. There weren't even small flashes of being a cub. Disappointed in his own faults, the bumbling grey god lay himself in the grasses, trying to focus on finding that word.
Pain? No, no, that wasn't quite right. Pain was more.. serious than this. Yes, that was most certainly what it was. Closing his eyes, Uhamisho ran over the memories that could be classified as 'painful'. Yes, yes.. those certainly deserved the term pain more than this. If he understood anything, it was that much; everything had an appropriate term. Scrunching his nose at a particularly painful memory, Uha allowed them to continue as he thought.
Memories.. it was a funny thing, really. All the memories in the world, and yet none of them helped him. Really they were more hutful than anything; seeing others' pain, others' laughter.. and yet, none of his own. They were there, somewhere. He remembered.. basics, after all. He was Memories, he could live, and how to live. And that wasn't bad, really. Off of that, he could function. Sighing, Uhamisho opened his eyes, looking around the empty field. It wasn't bad to work off of, really. He co-
Emptiness. That was the word for what he was feeling. Chuckling lightly, which sound more like a humming in his chest, Uhamisho looked out to the savanna. Emptiness was what he working with, then.
He could work around this.

Mtima'safi really did like the Pridelands a great deal, especially where it was where so much of her family was. In fact, without her brothers, it was the only place she had true family now. She did not go visit them, but knowing they were nearby kept her coming back. It really did help that the Pridelands was so happy, friendly and full of life. She couldn't help but think that she had chosen a delightful place to lead a mortal life, for the short time she did. For now, the goddess decided, she would take a break from seeking out the mortal who she was sure had been looking for her. The idea of going to visit Wahabu and Intombi was entertained, but something stopped her.
Nearby there was a strange clinking shuffle, and the shine of the bright Pridelands sun on the glittery wings of the other god was enough to catch Mtima's attention. Looking curiously over at the strange wandering god, she noticed that he was not moving very fast and he looked rather.. lost. Lost, she decided, was the best way to put it. She only watched for a couple seconds before stepping closer. Immortal souls were always a little trickier to interpret as your domain had such a strong influence- and the soul of this particular god seemed the be one of the strangest she'd seen in a long time. She couldn't place it, but he seemed both overflowing and empty at the same time.
"Hello?" she called out curiously.

The light voice of another.. female, reason told him, broke his thoughts; snapping from the aforementioned train, Uhamisho lifted himself with as much grace as possible, trying to straighten himself up as much as possible. A fellow immortal, then! Attempting the kindest smile, Uhamisho sifted through his memories in search of the best way to approach her; she was female, and a goddess, on top of that.
"H..hello there!" He returned, tone caught between worry and true happiness. It'd been ages since contact with another living being, let alone another immortal; hadn't he had immortal friends? Somewhere, something told him 'yes', but for now it was a question that would have to wait. Here, in the flesh, was a potential friend! Maybe even someone who knew him! Yes, that would be pleasant; someone who could help him back onto his paws. Literally, too, he'd decided; walking was slightly difficult with the chains that now adorned his arms. Those were likely the worst part of whatever had happened to him. Now he certainly looked like a fool when he walked. But then again, maybe he'd always been a fool, and just now acknowledged it?
A painful realization, that was. Worrying instantly, he began to pour his worries into semi-intelligible sentences, desperate for his new found company to stay.
"I am Uhamisho! Or, at least, that is the name I remember myself by. I actually don't remember much of my past, despite being the God of Memories. I think something happened to me, but, that's alright. In fact, it's kind of nice. It means a new start, and meeting new companions." A deep breath. "Speaking of new companions, who are you? You're an awfully nice shade of yellow, and I wish I could remember if I'd met you before. And I like your wings, too."
Finally finished with his rambles, Uhamisho fell silent once more, still staring awkwardly at the newfound company. Upon the realization of what he'd done, he looked to the ground and sighed.
"I.. I'm sorry. I just.. haven't spoken to anybody in.. so long."

So, the god of memories had lost his memory- it was ironic, the guardian of the world's memories would lose his own. It also perfectly explained why what Mtima saw when she looked at him was a strange mix of emptiness and fullness. She smiled at him, standing only a couple feet away. She looked him over from mane to chains, wondering what could have happened that left him in such a state. If he didn't know, she was unlikely to figure it out on her own. He looked like a perfectly friendly god to her!
"Uhamisho," she repeated, helping to commit the name to her own memory, "It is a pleasure to meet you, Memories. I'm Mtima'safi, goddess of souls. You're very kind of compliment me so! You are just as kind as you appear, though the chains seem ominous."

"Ominous?" Considering the word a moment, Uhamisho flicked through his memories quickly, sorting the make-shift filing system. Ah, yes! Ominous, there it was. Flickering his eyes open and blinking, almost like a butterfly's wings, he looked down to the shackles on his ankles. They.. rather were, weren't they? Humming gently, Uha made a very soft nod.
"Yes, yes, indeed they are," he said quietly, though not at all deterred by the comment. No, rather, he was glad that he had met Mtima- she could see beyond all that, he could tell! There was something in her eyes, too, that was just so kind.
"But.." he continued lightly, looking back up to Mtima once more, "I.. can't quite remember what it is I did. I remember, of everything," he quieted at this, flickering his ears lightly, "this is a punishment. One that I deserved, too. But I must've deserved it, whatever I'd done. I'm working now, though, to make up for it!" And he would, too. Smiling brightly, Uhamisho fluttered his wings lightly. He was a wandering god, off to help the mortal world as much as possible! And he would help as many of them as possible, too. And now, he had someone to tell about it! Oh, this was nice. Maybe, even, Mtima could become his new friend!
"I'm going on a.. quest, you could call it, though it's not that grand." Uhamisho said proudly, looking out to the sun once more. "More.. I don't know what to call it! But, I want to find as many creatures as possible, no matter where they are, to help."
"And wouldn't that be nice? Helping everyone who needs it! That's most certainly what my goal is!"

Mtima couldn't help but laugh as Uha took a moment ton consider her comment about the chains. It certainly seemed to suit the idea that he was being punished, but she couldn't imagine whatever it would be for. He was a god, and a very friendly and happy seeming one. Then again, the soul could change drastically and memory was a great influence on that..
"It's good to know you keep going despite this punishment, whatever it may be," she commented cheerfully, "You seem perfectly amicable to me, I can't imagine something so going so wrong."
She listened to him describe his quest, and sighed.
"That is an admirable quest, I only wish my own were so cheerful," she commented.

"I'd like to think the same," he said quietly, though still cheerfully, "But I'm sure I was different before. My punishment is likely just." It was what kept him going- assuring himself that, in the past life, he'd done something to deserve this. Justice was fair, after all! Therefore, he would not complain of this. Whatever he had done, the ends justified the means. He'd just have to keep hoping that, next time, he'd do better.
Ears flickering when Mtima spoke of his quest, and then her own, Uha frowned lately. It would seem, then, that Mtima was not happy! Ears folding back, Uha tilted his head to the side slightly.
"I'm sorry your quest isn't happy.." he offered gently, before continuing. "Is there any particular reason it's that way, or would you mind sharing? I mean, I understand how private things you might want to keep to yourself.. s'why I hate having memories that someone might not want shared. It's good that I'm not well known, though, so that nobody worries."
Pausing a moment, he laughed heartily.
"And see? There I go, rambling again!"

The goddess looked over the god curiously, trying to size him up and make up her mind about what horrible things he could have done. Beings were capable of great change, especially gods, it could be so. He was perfectly friendly looking and seeming now, except for the chains.
"I don't mind rambling," she commented when he'd finished his little speech after asking her a question, smiling at him and seeing no reason not to share her little quest with him, "I'm looking for a lioness who has a bit of a grudge against me, she came this way looking for me but I haven't yet been able to find her myself."
She sighed and took a quick look around the area.
"I don't know what she wanted," Mtima said, "I don't expect it was for a pleasant little chat, though."

"Not pleasant? Oh, that's not good." He said this genuine, a very enthusiastic nod accompanying the act. Uha simply couldn't understand why anyone would be upset with Mtima; she was incredibly friendly, and altogether pleasant to be around. Frowning lightly, he flicked his ears back.
"Well, hold on a moment," Uha mumbled, more to himself than to Mtima. Scrunching his nose, he thumped his paw lightly. "Why would you go looking for someone who wants.. to kill you? Or something as equally unpleasant, I suppose." He sniffled lightly, shaking his head.
"I.. I don't mean any offense, but, I wouldn't. Isn't it best to avoid conflict, for peace's sake? Fighting's bad." He added, trying to sound as sagely- and yet, non-offensive, as possible.
"But I guess that'd just be me, thinking too much. I hope you don't get hurt by it or anything. I'd be really sad to see you upset or injured."

Mtima was still smiling when Uha frowned, not at all looking too concerned with the situation yet. Amadet wasn't going to be a fun lioness to meet up with, but until she knew the whole situation she wasn't going to get paranoid or let it ruin her mood while in decent company.
"I don't know that she wants to kill me," she pointed out, "Though if she did.. I may not be as strong as some other gods, but she is still just a mortal lioness. And a rogue by the sounds of it. I could wait out her life and avoid the conflict, but I'm a touch curious."
Why lead a long life without a bit of excitement? It wasn't often someone looked for her personally.
"It's sweet of you to worry like that, though," she commented brightly.

"W..well, that's good, I suppose.. or better than a senseless fight, anyway." He mumbled quietly, still absorbed in his own thoughts. The frown remained on his face as he looked Mtima over; she was smiling, and seemed confident enough... sighing gently, Uha shook his head.
"I suppose if you have the confidence, then.. that you're ready for this. And, really," he, too, smiled. "If she's not wanting to kill you, that you know of.. and you've got yourself prepared for this to happen.." Uha's ears flicked at this, and he waved a paw in a joking manner. "Those no stopping you from going. I don't think if I tried, I could block your path." Laughing heartily for a moment, Uha smiled brightly, looking up to Mtima's eyes, then to the horizon once more.
"Uha.. I mean.. I have.. a favor." He said quietly, shifting uneasily on his own weight. Flicking his tail, Uha closed his eyes. "So that.. I don't worry.. will you come find me, again, so I know you're alright?" It was a bit of an unfair request, but.. he needed to see Mtima again. To know that the other like him.. wasn't gone, right after he'd found her. The smile graced his features once more.
"If it's not too much to ask.. I just want to see you again, after this."

Mtima smiled at Uha curiously, noting how concerned he seemed about it and then joking about it. He was a very interesting god, and though he couldn't remember exactly what he'd done he must have a great memory of violence. Emotional memory often seemed the strongest, and Mtima herself had seen quite enough of it in more recent times. Recent for a god, any way!
"A favor?" she repeated suddenly when he asked carefully, nodding tentatively- smart enough not to agree to anything without knowing but certainly not expecting anything bad. At his request, her smile became more cheery.
"Does this mean we're friends, Uhamisho?"

Friends? It'd been a very long time since anyone around him had used that word; even in recent memory, none had ventured to call him a friend. There was a moment of time where he lost control, fluttering his wings lightly in excitement. A friend! Settling himself out as much as possible, Uhamisho nodded enthusiastically.
"Y..yes! Most certainly, definitely, absolutely a resounding yes!" He chirped happily, tail swishing in excitement. Now, most certainly, he would see Mtima again, and she would be ok; she would have to be, to see him again! He glanced momentarily to the horizon, before returning his gaze to Mtima once more. So lucky, he was, to have met such a wonderful Goddess.
"When we meet again," he asked in a bubbly tone, still beaming brightly, "shall it be here? Or would you rather find Uha somewhere else?"

Mtima had never seen anyone so absolutely excited about such a simple question, but it reflected well on how the relationship appeared that it would go. He was so excited to have a friend, certainly he was not one to take it for granted. And she supposed she'd never have to worry about him forgetting about her or anything. With a laugh, she beamed at him.
"We can meet back up here," she agreed brightly, "But I'm sure I could find you if you did not want to meet back here. I don't know how long my little quest will take me, but certainly not long."

"Please, take your time, Mtima. I .. I wouldn't want to rush you, as much as I'd love to know you're alright, on something important that you need to do!" And it was true- he would wait as long as it took to see Mtima return safely. He could wait that long, he wouldn't mind. Smiling brightly, he raised a paw.
"But, I'm probably holding you back here, since you were looking for her." Uha added quietly, glancing off to the horizon once more. Setting the paw down, he stared off at the distance once more, the life fading from his face for a moment- without a smile spread on his features, the exiled god could likely pass for a corpse. He remained like this only a moment more, eventually snapping back and turning to Mtima.
"Just.. be safe, please?"
