"This is the time to remember, 'cause it will not last forever..."

Her mellifluous voice floated up above the quiet wash of the cold waves upon the beach -- one of the two things about her that she held the famed Ichsa pride for -- as she pranced along the soft shifting sands. She'd managed to gather a multitude of pretty shells and bits of driftwood, and had taken the liberty of adorning Maurice's cave with them. Hopefully he wouldn't mind the extra decorations, but she had a feeling he would like them.

So, decorating finished, the remainder of the day was reserved for prancing around the beach like the silly thing she was, and doing what she did best -- sing. "These are the days to hold onto, 'cause we won't although we'll want to. This is the time, but time is gonna change...."

Milo would always join her, even though he couldn't sing... Oh, how she missed her little friend.

"Sometimes it's so easy to let a day slip on by without ever seeing each other at all..."

Walking along the beach the lightning bolt stallion avoided the water. It was full of salt and would totally ruin his coat. He could not have that happen. This stallion was also careful as he walked along the sand, making sure to pick each hoof up as high as he could almost like a high step march, to avoid getting sand on the hair around his hooves. The purple maned stallion held his head high and proud, his purple wings as high up as they could go, and his tail raised up off the ground, so that too would not get sand and salt water on it.

"I am so much prettier and better then everyone else," the stallion thought. He continued his thoughts of such petty things until he heard someone singing in the distance. Ears perked up, Perun listened to the voice. It sounded so vaguely familiar but he failed to place the voice with the face. Deciding to pause momentarily in his 'pretty' thinking he walked quietly[and still super careful] towards the sound. As soon as he spotted the singer, he stopped in his tracks, amazed by what he saw.

"My mate." was all he said as he stood there and watched her. Perun thought back to the moment he had met her as her parents arranged her to be his and how the mare had tried to kick his precious face in. The nerve of her! He would have adored her...not as much as himself mind you. Instead the stupid mare tried to mar his perfect face. Anger grew inside him and within a moments time he knew that he wanted this mare.

"Why, Hello there my dear," Perun calmly said as he now approached her. She was rightfully his, and he was to have this pretty for his own. No matter what it took.

"But this is the time you'll turn back--huh?"

She hadn't heard him approach, hadn't heard the first two words he'd spoken, until he actually addressed her. Partially; she didn't go by 'dear' very often.

That voice. That voice. She'd only heard it once, but that was all she'd needed to hear. Ears pinned to her skull the pink-speckled mare whirled around, not believing who she was seeing. "You!!" She spat, emerald eyes wide with shock, disbelief, and an inkling of fear. She was not going to be his, not ever. But why was he here? Why had he left his herd?

It didn't matter. His pretty face had left, he was here, he had found her, and no doubt he'd be pissed at her for trying to kick his pretty face in. Pawing agitatedly at the ground, she gave a disgusted snort and flicked her tail in an irritated manner. "Why the hell are you here, and what the hell do you want? Finally decided you wanted that kick in the face, pretty boy?"

Perun smirked as he watched her reaction. Though his smirk quickly changed into a frown. "Hey now! Leave my beautifulness out of this thank you." He said with a glare at the mare. His wings were poised for take-off in case the mare decided to be crazy again. He couldn't take any chances this time. The last time he was around her, that crazy mare almost succeeded in her marring of his face. He was not going to risk it again.

"Why am I here? Well isn't this a public place? I am part of the public you know. Plus there's nothing stating that this is your place only so. I win." Perun said with a snort and a stomp of his hoof. "As for what I want well I was just minding my own buisness, not having a care in the world, other then myself, when I heard this singing. So I thought I'd check it out and lo and behold. Guess what. I found what I wanted. I found my betrothed. " He was going to have her. Even if she killed him.

"Beautifulness?" She snorted, pawing at the ground. Idiot. "That's not even a word, you egocentric dolt. Do you know anything besides your reflection?" Obviously not.

What he wanted. His betrothed. Oh no he didn't. "Never!" She shouted, glaring daggers at the lightning-marked stallion before her. If looks could kill, he'd be stone dead a hundred times over. "I don't care what either of our parents said -- I don't belong to anyone, especially you! I will never be yours, never! Do you hear me, you pretentious a*****e?!" Oh, he'd done it now. She was enraged, absolutely seething with anger. She was no longer a part of her herd, and therefore any prearranged matings or decisions regarding her no longer applied. She would not have anything to do with this stallion. At all.

She reared, striking at the air. "You'd best get out of my sight, you filthy, disgusting creature, before I kick your precious face in!" She stayed there for the time being, though, hoping he'd get the idea then turn and run off. If not, well... She wasn't afraid to run him off herself.

She would not be his.

"I know lots of things my dear. I know how to fly, look better, act better, and how be even more beautiful." The lightning bolt stallion said with a nod. His mind wandered a moment allowing him to think 'I'm sooo pretty.' to himself before bringing himself back to the situation at hand. He flinched at her yell of never but ignored what she said.

"Of course you're mine. You're my betrothed. No matter what you do or where you go you'll always be my betrothed." Perun said with a smile. His wings were still poised for flight as he spoke to the over reacting and overheated mare.

"Wouldn't you like to be the one all the mares are jealous of? You'd be the second prettiest in the land. I'm first of course. We'll make the most beautiful couple this world has ever seen." The super vain stallion said. "You are mine. You are my pretty."

He just didn't get it, did he? Apparently not, the ignorant dolt.

Her eyes flashed and she stomped a hoof again, ears pinned to her skull and tendril wings pressed firmly against her sides. "No, never! I will never be yours! Not ever! I don't care what either of our herds or parents said or arranged, I outright refuse to be any part of it! If you want a pretty brainless mare to claim as yours go back to my herd and find another! I refuse to be mated to such a disgustingly vain creature!"

Honestly, how could he be so stupid? Didn't he get it? Didn't he realize she'd never agree? "Don't call me such a thing! I am not yours, and never will be! Never! Not even in your dreams, and jealousy doesn't mean a thing to me!" Why would she care if anyone was jealous of her? When it all boiled down she'd rather any of the jealous bints had him rather than her.

Baring her teeth she reared again before launching herself towards him as fast as her slender legs could carry her, pale horn aimed straight for him. "Get away from me, and stay away if you know what's good for you!"

Perun just shook his head as he listened to her go on and on about how she would not be his mate. It was custom to be chosen mates if you were the leaders kin and times were bad. Once a mating was decided it was to be followed through no matter the issue.

"I am not disgusting. You will soon find out my love." He said with a glare and a stomp of his hoof on the ground. Noticing now her charge towards him he quickly lifted himself up into the air but only just barely. "I have an advantage over you my dear so you should just give up now and submit to our betrothal." Even in the air he felt far superior over anyone. "So I know what's good for me. You are what's good for me."

"I am not your love!" She snapped, a bit dismayed that he took to the air just out of her reach. Oh, how perfectly awful he was! "Get down here!" Shouted the enraged mare, jumping to try and reach him at least partially, but to no avail.

Positively seething she stopped and, with a disgusted snort, she turned on a dime and stalked off with her ears pinned to her skull. All she wanted to do now was to go into Maurice's cave and perhaps re-arrange the items she'd placed inside. But, she decided at the last moment as she continued her straight path down the stretch of beach, that would be a bad idea. If she went into the blue Ichsa's cave, Perun would certainly follow her in there and would then know where she resided. At least for the time being, that is.

Oh, how she wished Maurice would hurry and return; she wasn't sure if she could survive with the persistent lightning-marked stallion so close.

The lightning bolt stallion followed her in the air glad that she couldn't fly. "You are my love and no I'm not putting hoof on the ground until you calm down and stop trying to kill me." He said with a hint of annoyance in his voice. He was going to have her as a mate. At least long enough to have foals with. Even if it royally killed him. An idea struck his mind and he thought about it and it was worth a try.

"I have a proposition for you that would include me leaving you alone in the end." The stallion bribed knowing full well that there was that chance that he may not be able to keep his end of the bargain. But, the mare did not need to know that little smidgen of a detail. "If you promise you won't kill me when I make myself grounded nor try to kill me when I tell you what my proposition is."

She continued to ignore the stallion that followed her, knowing full-well he was still in the air. He didn't need to say so, the pompous little p***k. She flicked an ear, glaring daggers at the sand. Even after he'd spoken, she continued to ignore him. However, the idea of a proposition -- one that would mean peace for her, and to get rid of him hopefully forever -- kept nagging at her. Part of her knew for certain that he had been brought up just as she had, and he would not hesitate to make her his mate permanently. However, the wish for peace and freedom was too much to bear.

"What is it?" She spat, halting and twirling around in instant. Her bright emerald eyes narrowed as she continued to glare at him. "You'd better make this quick. I won't kill you yet, at least, but I can't make any promises not to try after your proposition." This was true; so long as she was hearing it, she wouldn't try to kill him. She probably would try afterwards, though; hell, he could want foals from her or something ridiculous like that. Pfft. Her, having foals!
PostPosted: Fri Feb 15, 2008 6:24 pm

Landing a small distance away from the mare so in case she tried to come killing him he would have that chance to get back up in the air. So for that reason as well he kept his wings poised for flight. Perun watched the mare for a few moments wondering if this proposition would be a good idea. If she failed to take it then he would have to keep following her until either he died of natural causes or she killed him.

"This is my proposition to you Sonata my love." The bolted stallion cleared his throat. "In exchange for me to leave you alone I request that we have foals. Even if we have just one I will leave you alone. It would please my parents greatly to be grandparents. Though when the foal was older they would have a right to come and find their mother." Perun paused a moment to let the proposition sink into the mare's thoughts. "What do you say my love? Either take the proposition or deal with me for the rest of your living life forever following you."

She kept her eyes locked on him, barely blinking, then hissed angrily as soon as he spoke the word. "Never!" She shouted, emerald eyes flashing. How he could dare to suggest or even think of suggesting such a thing...

Baring her teeth, she pawed at the shifting sands before speaking again. "I will never bear you foals! First of all, I'm much too young to do so! Second, I'd never allow any offspring of mine to go back to either herd! I wouldn't subject any of them to have arranged mates, it's a horrible thing!" She spat, rearing again with ears pinned to her skull before she bolted towards him as fast as her legs could carry him. "Get away from me! No matter what you do or say, I assure you -- I will never be yours, I will never bear you children, and I will never accept you!" The pink-speckled mare shouted, tossing her proud head as she quickly ate up the distance between her and her supposed-to-be mate, aiming her pale horn straight for him. He'd probably be up in the air before she could get near him, but she could still try.
PostPosted: Fri Feb 15, 2008 8:59 pm

Well he thought it might work but...it didn't so he once again took to the sky just barely in time as a gust of wind blew by under him. "My you're fast my love. Though who is to say that the children would be under the same fate? You never once asked me if I liked the arranged mating." Perun said as he lazily flapped his wings. "Did you ever think to ask me why I keep going after you. Sure we were betrothed but maybe I might have actually loved you without the arranged mating our parents made?" he questioned her trying to get her to slow down and think reasonably. Granted he didn't care about the arranged mating and knew it was his destiny but she didn't have to know. He really did have feelings for her though. Though of course his looks came before anything.

"So you might as well give up trying to spear me as I do have one advantage that you fail to have. I have the ability of flight. I can stay up here all day if need be and follow you around. I will do it to." A yawn of boredom escaped his mouth. This mare was going to be fairly easy to predict.

As she rushed beneath him, she gave a proud toss of her head, flinging her lengthy pink-tipped mane to the other side of her slender neck. She was positively livid at this stallion. How she would be able to stand him, she had no idea.

She halted and whirled around, her neck arched gracefully as she struck the ground with her peach forehoof, and pawed at the shifting sands as she let out an irritated snort. "If I ever have children, they would not be with you! Even if they were for some reason, I would never allow you anywhere near them. I would never subject any offspring of mine to the same fate." Here she tossed her head proudly again, glaring at him with one emerald eye -- the other had been covered by her lengthy forelock and she didn't care to fix the problem. It was small compared to the monumental one hovering in the air nearby. "And of course I'm fast -- there's no one faster," said the pink-speckled mare, sticking her nose into the air a bit.

He was right. He could fly, and she could not. She blinked slowly, flicking her lengthy tail as she thought. Suddenly, a sly grin spread across her features. "It's true," she said smugly. "You can fly, and I can't. So, I invite you to follow me if you can." And with that, she whipped around and bolted, galloping effortlessly across the sands as fast as she could go.

On her expeditions to explore the whole of the beach and its caves, she'd found several whose roofs were quite low. Low enough, in fact, that a tall nequus would have to duck in order to avoid hitting their head on the craggy rock above them.

Spotting one such cave she smirked, angling herself and making a bee-line for it. As she reached the entrance she quickly and easily swerved inside it, and slowed to a canter and then to a trot and finally a walk, swiftly setting herself in the back where she turned to face her betrothed. Let him follow her here, where they were more equal, and where his advantage was useless.
