 It had been a long while since his return to the ocean side, but the hippogriff hermit had enjoyed his stay at his secluded territory along the beachside. No one to bother him, no one to point out his flaws, and no idiots to beat lifeless when they pushed him too far. Heh, all in all, he could say it was the perfect get away from the rest of the world, however there was someone he missed. The Reya companion, Ignatius, such an interesting individual and quite like him. A freak of nature. Yes, that is what Sanue saw himself.
With little effort nor mind to the cold weather, for his feathers kept him fairly warm despite the wind and the chill, the Jala stallion pushed himself up from where he lay in the sand and wandered over to the water's edge. There, he could feel the drenched sands pulling at his fore-talons, teasing the claws as they dug themselves into the wet mush that was the terrain near the ocean's edge. The water was cold for this time of year, even more so than last season, and so he prefered to get his feet wet and use to the chill before he even thought of going fishing for the days meal. It was always best to prepare one's self, he had imagined and figured that it was the smart thing to do. However, whether or not fishing would be good for today he could not tell.
Unblinking olive-colored eyes shifted along the coastline as he backed himself up from the water and scanned the area for anyone who might happen by. He wasn't sure why he did so, though, considering he had yet to meet the fool that clammered down to his part of the beach during the coldest season of the year.

It had been several months since the multi-colored Reya had last been at the shoreline, staring down at the grey waters tainted by winters' grasp. Staring at her reflection with indigo eyes, Aurora remained silent and calm...almost like a living statue: wings folded tightly against her back and hooves planted firmly in the soft sands, it seemed that even Father Time himself could not move her...until.......
A particularly heavy wave came rushing forwards, splashing the Reya female up to her knees and sending her rearing upwards; wings unfurled to their fullest length and tail and mane flying as she cantered backwards away from the icy water.
"Curse Lady Winter!" Aurora scowled as the wave withdrew back into the ocean, almost mocking her as it vanished without a trace. "Gods above....Someone tell me why I keep coming back here!!"

Hmm, the ocean seemed to be fairly cold, however not so much so as it had been the day before, which was good. The skin upon his talons may have been thick, but the hippogriff still felt it was one of his most sensitive of areas. Especially to temperature. What would he catch today, fish or eel? Eel was rare, very much so, and as such it was a treat to get his claws on one.
However there was a disturbance not too far up the beach, his fierce olive-eyes flicking their gaze in its direction. It was a surprising thing, a voice upon his beach, and he knew quite well he did not like hearing it. No mixed feelings, another nequus had found his place of solitude, and thusly he would likely have to deal with whoever it was. Deal, for he knew most were opposed to his very existance, which of course got on one's nerves after a lfietime of it.
And was she screaming at something? Nothing? Screaming for the sake of it he supposed, and he didn't really hear what it was about. Ugh, wonderful, the Jala stallion returned his gaze to the sea, hoping he would not be noticed.
