What is with that series and its careless grammar errors?

For example, whilke I was playing RE 1 for the gamecube, when I tried to use an item, although it wasn't to be used at the time, instead of saying "It is not nesscessary to use this right now", it said "it is not nesscessary use this item right now".

I've seen these kinds of errors in Resident Evil 0 also. What's with that?

Simple answer? Careless translation from Japanese.

The worst example of this that I've ever seen was when Final Fantasy VII was originally released for the PlayStation. The line ran (verbatim, of course) "If you hold down the [CANCEL] button to run (earlier marked X)."
