Powers: He formerly had the ability to shift his body from human to seal when he was still in possession of his sealskin. Since it has been taken from him, he is now trapped as a mortal.

Attire: At the moment, he has no set outfit and wears a variety of loose-fitting clothes made from soft fabrics. However, he would prefer to wear none at all as he finds them irritating and cumbersome.

Favorite Sound: the roar of the surf
Favorite Weather: quiet seaside nights

Dislikes: being treated like a child, being told no, having to follow rules, TV, cinnamon, mushrooms, the colors purple and pink, most of Karma's household
Fears: being abandoned again, which is why he refuses to form many attachments
Appearance: Tremaine is pretty. There are no ifs, ands, or buts about it. He is fair of face, his skin is free of blemishes and scars, and his hair is like a fall of faint auburn silk. He has the makings of becoming a beautiful adult one day and has already begun to fill out a bit with wirey muscle in his upper arms, chest, and thighs.
Personality: Tremaine comes off as somewhat of a snotty character. He's a bit pompous, rude, and withdrawn from all around him. Though many would simply dismiss him as a jerk, he has his reasons for the way he acts. The young selkie has pent up much sadness, aggression, and insecurity due to his parents' sudden abandonment of him. It has made him generally distrustful of all around him and he is slow to show anyone kindness unless he feels that they are a kindred spirit. His shell can be penetrated, but it would take someone with patience and determination to do so.
Background (so far...): Reluctant to give him up as an infant, Tremaine's parents had done him the disservice of raising him for several years and keeping up the illusion of a family, all while knowing that if he hoped to survive, he would have to leave their realm and be taken in by a willing foster.
When they felt the time had come, his mother and father brought him across the threshold of Arcadia's waters and into Gaia's sea. There, he was taken to a sandy shore and final farewells were said. To ensure that he would not follow his parents back to their doomed home, Tremaine was stripped of his sealskin and entrapped in his human form.
Alone, upset, angry, and confused, he was left alone on the beach for several hours, gazing out into the waves and hoping against hope that his mother and father might reconsider and return for him. After awhile, however, his hopes gave way to the heavy reality that he was truly alone in a mortal's world. As his patience dissolved into childish tears of upset, he was approached by a strange pale figure who attempted to soothe him.
With the promise that he would be taken care of, Tremaine was brought to a secluded house in Barton to await his new guardian. The owner of the establishment, Jaden Silvermoon, had gone missing but the stranger assured him that someone had already been chosen and would be by to get him presently. As fate had it, that someone was Karma.
As the pale one explained Tremaine's situation to her, Karma was reluctant at first, having already attempted to give an outcast Arcadia child a home at one point, only to have his parents return for him without warning and whisk him back home. After being promised that it would not happen again, the young selkie was officially given over to the foxcoon's care and brought into her household...

Children - Kendall Farrell, Raven Marie, and Aislynn Rose (biological), Arkanti, Saturnidae, Tremaine (adopted)
Appearance - Karma is a short fuzzy thing, covered all over in chocolate brown fur with a white underbelly. Her ears stand tall like a fox's with black tips, a black mask covers her eyes and her hands and feet are tipped in black fur. Her tail is full-bodied and bushy like a fox's, though is dark brown in color with black rings. Prolonged consumption of Pepsi has left her with a bit of a pudgy tummy which she conceals with baggy clothes. She is most usually seen wearing offbeat outfits that don't quite match or, more often, wearing her autumn leaf kimono when relaxing. Protruding from either side of her head are small feathered white wings. It is uncertain how or why she has them and no one's really thought to ask her
Personality - How one describes Karma depends entirely on how well one knows her. To strangers, she is withdrawn and sometimes overly-polite as she likes to avoid conflict whenever possible. Around her friends, however, she doesn't hold back nearly as much, if at all. She loves to laugh at damn near everything and sometimes her mouth gets her into trouble. She holds few grudges, as she thinks life is too short to invest in hatred, but those who've managed to invoke her ire quickly find that its not a passing thing and that, no, she does not forgive and forget easily. As a mother figure, she tries to be both nurturing and leniant, though once her BS allottment has been reached, she is both willing and able to be a disciplinarian. She also seems to enjoy antagonizing Talonfaust at every available opportunity since reasoning with him is about as rewarding as nailing Jell-O to a tree.
Likes - Pepsi, Chocolate, comedy movies/books/websites, quiet time with her family, sleeping late, vegetables, red meat, being in the company of good friends, being present to watch jackasses get their comeuppance, hot showers, staying up late, helping deserving people obtain things they've long-been wanting
Dislikes - discussing politics with her husband, artificial cherry flavoring, goulash, egotists, asshats, conspiracy theories, bullies, being ignored, being used, getting up early, cleaning house, calling strangers on the phone

~*Kendall*~
Karma's eldest son, fathered by Youkochylde. Kendall is usually a pretty easygoing sort who loves to have a good time. He's also a massive video game junkie and can most usually be found parked in front of his computer or the television set. He's known not to be a very good loser, especially when his twin sister Raven is involved. Tremaine and he are on cordial terms, but neither seems particularly inclined to get to know the other.
~*Arkanti*~
Karma's adopted fa'e son. You would think that he and Tremaine would find kinship in one another, being that they are both children of the sea (Tremaine being a selkie and Arkanti being a kelpie) but it seems Arkie finds his enjoyment in tormenting his younger brother instead, finding his short temper and slight pompousness amusing to no end.
~*Aislynn*~
The biological daughter of Karma and Dave with a little help from the Farland clinic and some leafhopper DNA. As of now Lynn is far too young to exhibit much of a personality and spends most of her time sleeping. This in mind, Tremaine finds her tolerable.
~*Saturnidae*~
Karma's other adopted son who joined the family rather unexpectedly when he manifested from a leaf Karma found while on a walk. Being moth-based, Dae is very jittery, hyperactive, and its hard to hold a conversation with him. Being that Tremaine finds his nervousness catching, he tends to avoid him for his own sanity's sake.
~*Talonfaust*~
A long-time resident of Karma's home who, by proxy, has become one of the family. He is very withdrawn and sour-tempered about nearly everything, reluctant to show any feelings other than disdain to all but his wife and children. He is, oddly enough, the only person in the house that Tremaine seems to have warmed up to and looks to the ijiuo as his mentor. Talon, surprisingly, tolerates the selkie child, if only because they seem to have much in common.
~*Zhane*~
Zhane is Talonfaust and Yeande's biological son. Unlike his parents, he is quite a pleasant young man and very curious about all around him. He loves nothing more than to see, touch, smell, and taste all he comes across until he thinks he understands it. Tremaine finds his grabbiness and happy demeanor extremely offputting.
~*Phaerna*~
Talonfaust and Yeande's adopted daughter from the Maban Mabwysiad center. She was the result of an ill-fated pairing between a shy woods nymph and a brusque drow mercenary. In temperment she is very shy and quiet, tending to cling to her mother, father, and brother whenever possible. She's very unsure of herself in any other situation and will often take to hiding if she feels uncomfortable. Tremaine doesn't feel one way or the other about her because he hasn't seen enough of her to form a proper opinion.

Artax has become one of Tremaine's closest companions...if only because the neutral and patient zurui will listen unwaveringly to his complaints and insecurities for hours on end and, in the end, still think no less of him for his temper. He is someone Tremaine has come to trust will not run out on him.

Timeline Of Important Events October 31st, 2005 -- On a brisk Halloween morning, Tremaine was discovered upset, confused, and alone on the seashore. He was brought to Jaden's establishment to await his new guardian. November 1st, 2005 -- Tremaine goes home with his new foster mother, Karma and attempts to integrate into the household.

Please do not drag OOC issues into IC situations. If you and I are at odds, there is not necessarily a reason our characters would be. If you cannot respect me on a player-to-player level during roleplay, please save us both some headache and don't interact with me at all
Likewise, please remember Tremaine is not the nicest of people. If he snaps at you or your Changeling, that's just how he is. I promise I'm not mad at you or doing it to be nasty. If you feel I'm overdoing it, or making you uncomfortable, please let me know. IC is not worth damaging friendships over.
