Nyana was preparing herself. She was ready to set off for a new life in a new pride, see new things and reap the benefits of a fresh start. She was ready to leave the place she had called home for many years... the rogue lands would be just a vague memory in due time, she'd see to that. She was headed for new directions now.
However, the dark lioness did feel a little bothered about slipping away from the lands she knew with such familiarity. Soon, she'd be out of her element, in unknown territory, never to dip into the waterhole again, or never to enter she and her sister's den in the very least. She would miss that den, that was for sure. For weeks on end, Nyana had lain in that dark, secluded densite, catching the stray mouse and to use as a 'test-subject' of sorts in her poison 'research'. She'd miss playing with her food, dipping them into herbs and spices and all sorts of things. Ah, but sacrafices needed to be made.
And so, Nyana found herself weaving her way through the long grass, alone, for one very last time.
"Ah, my friends," she sighed fondly, addressing each blade of grass she passed, "I wonder if I'll ever miss you. I know you won't miss me, but that's beside the point, isn't it?"
She wondered if this walk would remain the quiet type. Perhaps she'd be able to slink past, unnoticed, evading all souls around. At least, she hoped that would be the case. Nyana wasn't in the most social mood at present.

Perahaps unfortunately for the deep green female there was indeed someone out stalking the world. An unusual crature with strange eyes and a subtle smile. To say that he was sane would certainly be a lie, but to say that he was insane was also far fromt he truth. Tiyatahmey balanced on the edge of sanity his mind working to it's own questionable clock work. His golden mane blended well with the world around him and his shadowey black coat made him almost invisable even in the lightest of shades. It was then that he slid up beside the deep green female, silent as a ghost, his footsteps unheard, his slender, sleek body walking beside her barely a hairs width between them. "Good day little friend." he whispers his voice rather high pitched for a male lion of any kind. Though his head stayed faceing forwards a single strange roving white eye fixed placidly upon her, summing up who she was perhaps? Who knew but the dark blond maned lion.

Nyana could not help but jump as the male sidled up to her. She had not noticed his prescence (which was strange, for a lioness of her calibre - she was usually quite alert and aware of her surroundings). Perhaps she'd been thinking too hard, losing herself in her thoughts. Perhaps she had just been careless. But it mattered not, in the end of the day she'd been discovered, and that was that.
"My," she exclaimed. She was surprised, and her eyes widened momentarily to show it. However, she quickly calmed herself down, and her token grin returned to her face. Nyana was an odd one - she had sported this grin most of her life. It was almost as much a part of her as the stripes on her back.
"Well, you gave me a surprise, sir," she chuckled, stepping away a little, "Good day to you, too. Though I don't recall seeing you around these parts before, so I can't say we're friends."
She was smiling, but her eyes were cold. Nyana did not take to other lions easily, much less males. She reserved her genuine smiles for her sister alone. However, she still retained a pleasant air about her. Nyana was cold, but not necessarily unwelcoming.
"You're an odd one, aren't you?" she mused, still grinning, looking at his jet black fur and golden mane, "You've got wild eyes. You from around these parts?"

A smile raised on those dark lips as he walked beside her moving as she did as if he was a shadow rather than a lion at her side. When she moved away he filled the gap fluedly making it seem like his sidewards step was a natural occurance that he should walk beside her this dark shadow of a beast. His smile almost even mimiced hers, he certainly seemed happy any way though who truely knew why?
A little laugh rolled off his lips at her question and his grin grew wider, almost chesire cat like before he spoke. "Such questions little friend." He turned his head for a moment then a black pupilless eye observing her for a moment before the white, once again watched her quietly. "I suppose I can forgive your comment little friend, you do not know me after all and you do not know my name, though I will give it to you if you like." He giggled then his steps continuing as hers did, each paw following her own he moved in time and rythem with the deep green female his golden mane almost, but never touching her.

Nyana was a little disturbed by this stranger. The way he moved, the way he spoke... she certainly hadn't met anyone this odd in quite a long while. She wondered, a little insensitively, if this lion had been dipped in herbs and poisons that had, she guessed, intoxicated his mind. She quickly dismissed the thought ; this lion was not a mouse, was much too big to be dipped, and although he seemed slightly out of the loop, he didn't seem completely insane.
"I do not know you, that's true," she breathed, her smile dropping a little, "But neither do you know me. So we're both in the same boat, wouldn't you agree?"
She turned her cold, harsh eyes upon the male once more. How strange he was. It took a lot to creep Nyana out, but although she wasn't outwardly frightened of the dark stranger, she kept her guard right up.
"So, if you'll give me your name..."
Nyana was interested in this dark stranger. Very interested. Perhaps this walk of hers was going to be something a little more than a mere stroll.
Her smile returned, frozen eerily on her face.
"Well, I should be polite, shouldn't I, and present my own name to you first. It's Nyana. Good to meet you," she finished her sentence breathing a single, ice cold word, "...friend."

That smile never faded as they walked along his steps silent, it was as if each stone or twig moved out of his way to make his walk upon velveteen paws deathly silent, almost perhaps like he was walking upon a cloud.
"Ah little friend but everyone is the same, we are after all, all lions." He let a little laugh roll off his lips then, a strange sound which peirced the air. "You may call me tiyatahmey.." He paused for a long moment then taking in a breath and letting it out very, purposefully slowly, "Though my little friend you should learn to say it properly, i do not take kindly to short cuts on my name."
He turned to face her as she looked at him both odd eyes looking in to hers, his own simply shadows in the night no reflection shimmering off the one onyx like orb while the white, with the tiny pupil fixed her doggedly.
"Where are you going to Nyana?" He whispers his blond head turning back towards the direction they were heading. "You seem excited and cautious my friend."

She gave a grim chuckle.
"You're right, I suppose," she grinned, though there was no joy behind the smile, "We're the same, aren't we? Pathetic little lions, clawing at life like stubborn little mice," her eyes glinted with momentary pleasure at the mention of rodents, "But the question is, Mr Tiyatahmey, whose skin do I value more? My own, of course. So you can see why I'm cautious. It's not often I come across strangers such as yourself on walks, you know."
Had she been in a more daring mood, perhaps Nyana would not have cared to pronounce Tiyatahmey's name correctly. But he was so odd that she could not help but listen to his every word, and she didn't wish to try him with her usual tongue in cheek.
Still, when the blonde-haired lion inquired as to where she was headed, Nyana lost her suspicion of him, if only for a moment.
"Where am I going? Why, I don't see how it concerns you, but since we are making idle chatter..." she stopped walking, and pointed a paw in a sweeping gesture towards the distance, "A pride has been recruiting. An onslaught of plague took most of the original members to the death, or that's what the leader's been saying, so he wants replacements to come and stand in the shoes of the fallen to build the pride back up again. Hrmm, now that I think of it, he's an odd lion, that leader, he holds a lot of strange ideals... reminds me a bit of you, Tiyatahmey."
'Well, actually, he's not as nearly as bad as Tiyatahmey,' she thought privately, sniggering. This guy was the nuttiest she'd met in a long while, that was for sure. Even the king, Zaliwa, could not contend with him when it came to weird ideas.
"I'm excited, but that's beside the point. Oh, but it's all so boring to ears other than my own. What about you, sir? Where have you sprung up from?" her speech was slurred with her own laughter. She found the whole situation she was in very amusing, "Do you often hang around the long grass and creep up on passers by?"

"Oh!" he exclaimed his eyes widening a little as a slow laugh rolled off his lips. "You are headed to new adventures? How exciting for you." he smiled never moving from her side acting always as her shadow. It seemed he even predicted her stop when she pointed out accross the lands. His whole head roved to watch her paw spread out and he smiled quietly.
"There are lots of prides little friend. I suppose each is a new adventure hmm?" he gave a short little 'hee' of a laugh then. "My father was a mister I don't think i have ever been addressed thusly before. How strange." He looked thoughtful for a moment before turning his whole gaze back upon her.
"I do not sneak, I simply greet the way I have been taught. You should mind your manners little friend. Only theives sneak and I am no theif." He shook his head solomnly. "my father always said think before you speak. he should have taken his own advice really." A breif wikid smile spread accross those dark features his odd eyes catching a glimmer of light.
"Still, no harm done, I can forgive, you are after all, the first little friend I have made in a long time and I wouldn't want you to be late for your pride now, would I?"

"Not a mister, are we? Taught to greet lions from the shadows, were you?" Nyana chuckled, "Well, pardon me, Tiyatahmey, pardon me. As you can very well guess, I'm not really from around these parts. Although I'm a local, I don't come out into the open much. Not unless I need to. So I'm ignorant when it comes to these kind of things."
She paused for a moment to chew thoughtfully on her lower lip, and eyed the male with utmost interest. Perhaps there were other lions out there like him, and if there were, why, the world was much more amusing than she'd first thought. With another brief chuckle, Nyana resolved then and there that she was going to enjoy the wide open world. Africa was certainly an interesting place to live.
"I suppose I should watch my mouth. I know my tongue can be very sharp," she nodded, eyes glinting, "Your father sounds a wise lion, Tiyatahmey. I assume he still lives?"
Perhaps that was too much an insensitive question. She opted to change the subject.
"Well, it's good one can forgive, Tiyatahmey. If only others would be as considerate as yourself," she paused, and then looked to the distance. The male was right - soon enough it would be time to leave.
"How interesting that our paths crossed," she grinned, signaling with a sharp flick of her tail that she would soon take her leave,"Well, it looks like I am leaving more... 'friends' behind than I thought. I'll keep you in mind, Tiyatahmey. You're a curious lion, you know. You won't be easy to forget."

The dark lions ears twitched as he listened to her words, his head turned in the direction they were going, his paw steps always silent as a lamb. "You learn quickly my friend, I'm sure you're old and wise enough to take advice from someone like me. he laughed a little his dark tail flickering the golden tip twitching in the sand.
"Oh yes, he was very wise, he just didn't take his own advice, heee." he grinsflashing for a moment pale teeth long stained with deep red bloody markings. "He has been dead for a very long time. I watched him die. It was very bloody." He commented about his father in such a casual manner, even the bloody part he spoke as if he was making idle conversation.
"Oh! It's good to know I'll be remembered by someone. Perhaps I will find you again some day and you will tell me the tales of your pride hmm?"
His lips turned in a sardonic grin and he bowed his head, both strange eyes fixed on the lioness before in a heart beat he vanished as quickly as he came only his paw prints said that another lion had walked beside the deep green female.

The casual tone of Tiyatahmey's voice hardly reflected his words - and though Nyana was relatively unperturbed when it came to the darker side of life, the manner in which the lion presented his words sent a few chills up her spine.
"Bloody, huh?" she murmered, her eyes hardening and smile dropping as she stared at his eerie grin, "Well, that's certainly interesting, Mr Tiyatahmey."
She decided to watch him leave first. There was something unnerving about the way the lion carried himself, like a shadow almost, and she wanted to make sure that she could see him leave in plain sight. He seemed about to leave, when she heard a voice:
"Perhaps I will find you again some day and you will tell me the tales of your pride hmm?"
"Perhaps," she nodded, slowly, "... well, until then, Tiyahtahmey. Until then."
And she watched him go, vanishing into the dark undergrowth from whence he'd appeared, almost like a ghost.
"What a strange lion," she breathed, and sighed to the grass, "Strange, wasn't he? Pity I should meet such an interesting lion on the last night of my stay here. Pity, indeed."
She hesitated for a moment to look back. Then, without another word, she herself vanished into the night.
