Ryu walked through the sleeping fields in the early morning light, the sun was just about to come up, and he wanted to see it light the sky. He'd been in the trees for so long, he'd almost forgotten what a sunrise looked like, or the open sky for that matter. At some points the trees had show small sections of the sky, but other than that, it was green light everywhere.
He'd woken up very early this morning to see this site, the sky was still dark and the stars were still shining when he'd gotten onto the field, and he'd spent the past few hours being perfectly still, watching the sky lighten. Normally he didn't like staying still for so long, especially in an open field, but it was dark out, and his dark coloration blended him perfectly into the night.
By this point, the sky had turned a much lighter shade of blue, and everything was beginning to take on an almost pinkish hue in color. Patiently, Ryu sat in that field, staring out at where the sun would rise.

Malu awoke to the start of the sunrise. She was still a bit sleepy, but her senses told her she wasn't alone anymore. She looked around, but didn't see anything in the dim light. She had slept in the field last night, since the weather had been so agreeable. She stretched herself out, and sat down to begin her morning wash, looking up at the sky every so often to catch a glimpse of the rising sun.

Ryu's ears swiveled towards where he heard movement; the grass rubbing against each other as something moved in the field. "Show yourself...." He growled, not liking the idea that he was no longer alone, and it was even worse that he may have missed over something when he was scouting out the area.

Her silent morning disturbed by a sudden threatening voice, Malu turned to see who it was. Her fur stood up at the nape of her neck. Just to her side she could barely make out the form of someone. "Hello?" She called timidly.

Ryu's ears turned in the direction of the voice, and he looked over his shoulder to the direction it was coming from. He was a bit surprised himself, he wasn't expecting it to be female, that's for sure. "Who are you..." While it was still more of a demand than a question, his voice was noticeably less harsh.

A wave of relief flowed through her when she saw that the other Ulaya wasn't actually being threatened. She must have just surprised him. "I'm Malu. Who might you be?"

Ryu relaxed a bit more when he saw the winged Ulaya. She didn't seem like she was too dangerous, and he made his way slowly to her. "Mine's Ryu... What are you doing out here...?"

"Hmm? Oh, well I fell asleep out here. It was such a nice night last night that I decided to sleep outside." She smiled, knowing now that the Ulaya, Ryu, was friendly. "What are you doing out here?" She asked, unobtrusively.

Ryu blinked, confused; why would someone willingly sleep out in the open? It was dangerous, especially at night. "I'm... here to see the sunrise...." He turned his attention to the horizon, where it was starting to turn much lighter.

Taking the hint that he wanted to watch the sunrise peacefully, Malu turned towards it and kept herself quiet. It really was beautiful watching the morning begin with nothing around to disturb her. "It's breath-taking..." She whispered, sighing softly to herself.

Ryu was appreciative of the female growing silent, and he whispered back to her. "I haven't seen a sunrise in a very long time. I can't really remember what one is like." Normally he was hidden safely away until mid morning, long after sunrise.

She glanced over at him while he was looking at the rising sun. Then she stared at it herself, mesmerized by all the hues it threw into the sky. She wanted to let Ryu experience the sunrise to its fullest, since he hadn't seen one in so long. She patiently watched it beside him until the whole disc was able to be seen above the horizon.

He had a small smile on his face as he watched the colors flood in the sky. He took a deep breath as the sun finally peeked out and closed his eyes. That had been the most beautiful sunrise he'd seen. Looking to Malu, he nodded his head. "Thank you...."

"My pleasure," she purred. After such a long period of silence, she now had no idea what to say to this Ulaya. She said something about the sun to not be awkward. "Sunrises are so very beautiful. I wish I had the will to wake up every morning to watch."

He chuckled a bit. "I don't get up until long after the sun rises, normally...." He stretched a bit, then nodded his head in Malu's direction. "Better get going, I don't like spending too long in one area... too vulnerable..." That statement said, he turned and began walking off.
