Ensa, the farming village
Several small bunches of houses meet at the corners of large green fields that are acres in area. At the heart of these fields are about a dozen homes, this is the center of trade for Ensa. Many herd their livestock out to graze for the day, and bring them in at night for fear they might loose them to thieves. Vendors sell their goods in the small marketplace, and the dirt path is worn hard and smooth. Small, wobbly fences line the main road that leads through the field to the village center. The houses have white clay walls held together by dark wooden beams, and have thatched roofs of gold straw. The land not occupied by roads or crops has long green grass that sways in the gentle summer breeze.

Order of arrival:
Legretta
Adun
Skaro
Cat
Arietta

((First scenery job. I guess it's alright. I need to learn a bit more about this kind of writing. Then I'll improve on making it seem real rather than getting lost in the details.))

Legretta stood on a fence post that boosted her height about four feet. She faced the fields; a 90 degree turn to the right would have her facing the village center. 'Let's see... there are 3 targets.' Legretta made a mental picture of them, and slipped the blindfold down over her eyes. She couldn't see anything if she wanted to. She turned so she faced away from the village, and then dashed on the the top of the fence towards a tree about 300 yards away down the fence line. She only got about 20 yards when 3 shadows tore out of the tree, flying through the air with incredible speed. Legretta kept running, sensing where they were. '...Right now, about 25 yards in the air, 253 yards away. Perfect shot.' She ran through her mind. While still running, she drew one of her pistols, pointed it at the shadows, and fired. One shadow fluttered in place for a moment, then fell to the earth. 'One down. Two to go.' She continued running, they were faster than she was, for they could fly. They were gaining distance on her. 'Height: 21 yards, distance: 317 yards. Easy.' A second bang pierced the air, and a second shadow fell to the ground. 'One left.' She smirked. Legretta's pistols could fire only two shots per round. She reached behind her back while she ran, and pulled out a single bullet which she loaded her gun with. She pointed at the last shadow, which was now some 390 yards away, and pulled the trigger. Only this time there was no bang of a gun. Legretta skidded to a stop on top of a wooden post. She faced away from the fields, and held the smoking pistol up to her mouth. She blew the smoke away in a small huff. She smirked.

"Boom." She whispered. And then there was large explosion above the field which she had turned her back to. The target had tried to use height to stay away from her, but it had all been for nothing. Well, except for target practice. Legretta leapt down from the fence and slipped off the blindfold, replacing it around her neck. She pulled her newly acquired black cloak over her sniper's vest. She so loved having spare time for shopping. Then she could buy things for herself to use. Such as the snipers outfit she had found here. Dark to blend in with the night, and with a lot of space for artillery. ...On second thought, she took off the cloak and scarf. It was summer, and a hot summer at that. Legretta replaced the blindfold leaped back onto the fence post, and began walking back up the fence towards the village with her cloak in her left hand and pistol in the right.

From the air many meters up, Adun saw the village closing in. He calculated the remaining distance and pushed himself one last time in the air. His hawk let go and broke into a dive, Adun following close behind. He touched down outside the village and the steel case on his back jangled. He had already removed whatever had been inside and seemed to be sporting nothing new. He looked towards the village and sighed, this was going to be a boring job. He was about to find a place to rest his mind, slightly worn from the journey, when a large explosion rent the air and his silence. he vanished, leaping again, and saw the gunslinger from the cathedral. On the decent he angled himself so that he would land near her. His cloak billowed out behind him and provided Adun with the lag-time he needed to cover his left arm completely, the sleeve had blown up and slightly revealed something black on his arm. He landed behind the gunner and tapped her on the back with his bow, in his right hand

((Cat and I looked for pictures, but we couldn't find anything good. I'd rather use pictures when I can because the old saying "A picture is worth a thousand words" is always going to be true.))

Legretta smirked when she felt a tap on her shoulder. She had felt the archer approaching, and knew how he had found her. No surprising that anyone would find her; considering the size of the blast. She stopped walking and pulled the blindfold off with her right hand after she replaced her gun in its holster. She turned to face the archer, and started walking backwards on the fence, speaking as she did so.
"What took you so long?" She taunted. "For the rush you look like you were in, and the fact you left first..." Legretta commented on his rather messy brown hair. Before the archer could say a word, she turned around and dashed forward, pistol drawn and held at her side, finger on the trigger. 'Heh. Guess there were four targets.' She thought to herself. She had pulled the pistol from her left side, so it had two shots in it, one to many. 'Distance: 600 yards. Height: 20 yards.' She aimed. With the blindfold she would have had a few problems sensing the shadow from this distance, but she saw with her eyes. 'Hit percent: 100.' Bang! Legretta stopped again, and watched the last of the four birds she had seen flutter for a moment, and then fall to the earth like the others. She whirled the pistol on her fingers a few times before slipping it back into the holster. She looked over her shoulder at the archer for a moment, then continued to dash towards the village.

The gunner started to run, after her showing off her accuracy, but not fast enough. The grass rippled underneath him before several chunks of earth burst around him. Adun faded, only an image it seemed, and appeared alongside her, then boosted ahead to reach the village first. He skidded to a halt and turned around to watch the gunner dash towards his location. He pulled out his bow and held it like he was going to fire at her.

Silently a large puff of black smoke appeared above the heads of Legretta and Adun and within a flash Skaro leapt through it without a sound. It was not until he had slammed down beside Adun, causing the ground around him to collapse about a foot, that his presence was known to the village and his companions.

"Ahh such a beautiful sight to arrive to would cause any tired traveller to leap to their feet, Miss Legretta," Skaro stated with a bow in her direction before turning to Adun, "And it would seem you beat me in speed once again, Adun,"

Cat flew through the village only a few feet above the ground, in a hurry because she was most likely late. She had been late already, but when she saw her friends were nowhere to be seen in the village square, she thought must have missed them on the way in. She swerved around carts and livestock, often saying "Sorry! I'm in a hurry!" when she startled people. Though after looking at Cat a second time and seeing just how she was going so fast, most of them just started wide-eyed and open-mouthed. As soon as she rounded the last corner leading to the south fields, she spotted what she had been looking for. Everyone but Ari was there. Cat smiled and slowed into a graceful accent, so that she would literally drop in on them. Once she was directly above, she dropped off her sythe and quickly replaced it on her back before she got to the ground, landing like a cat on all fours.
"Hello everyone! Sorry I'm late! I kinda left last so..." She said while getting up.
((Cat rides her sythe like a broomstick, with the blade in the front and facing down. Like I have my avi right now. That was fun to write! I can just picture her tearing through the streets and scaring people. xD))

"Hmph. Not bad." She commented to the archer as she casually walked the rest of the way. She had no desire to race him; The race had been to Ensa. Legretta simply wanted to know what he could do for speed. The only reason she had even started to run was to provoke him into running. Perhaps someday she would race seriously on foot. Someday was certainly not now. Legretta glanced around her at the scenery once she heard what Skaro had to say. Green, green, and more green for as far as the eye could see. There was nothing beautiful about the place.
"...If you're going to call me by a formal name, don't call me miss." She replied to him.
Just then Cat dropped out of the sky above them, landing-how ironic-like a cat. And her lateness was explained by yet another of her pathetic excuses. Legretta sighed and started walking to the village again.

((Legretta wasn't 'showing off'. It's called target practice. Any gunman or archer needs to do it to keep their aim sharp.))

Adun nodded to Skaro and said in a low voice so only Skaro could hear it "it's been that way for at least 10 years now hasn't it?" he rose his voice and said "I believe he was referring to you, Legretta was is? I could hear your thought and that was not my fastest I hope you know." In his mind, Adun slapped himself, he should not have revealed that he could, as his teacher had called it, enter minds and read the flow of though. Even worse was that Leretta would probably infer that he and Skaro could communicate like that given they seemed to know each other quite well. To ease his mind of worry he pulled out a thin black pipe and stuck it in his mouth. With his left hand, the right holding his bow, he twisted a little nob around the tip. it gave off a red light for a moment then smoke rose from inside, swaying in the air as if intoxicated and unable to rise properly.

Legretta smirked and continued walking towards the village as if the archer hadn't said anything. The archer did exactly what she thought he would do. Again. She had wondered about how he and Skaro had been exchanging glances for no apparent reason. And now that he confirmed it himself, she knew it his presence she felt in her mind. And when not to think about things he shouldn't be hearing. But his reactions were all so classic. He was so fun to toy with. She made sure to make her last thoughts rather clear. If the archer had this ability, then Skaro most likely did as well. The archer used his mind to achieve a good many feats, one of which being how he got here only a half-hour after her. He was a psychic, was he? Legretta walked further into the town and opened the door to the inn, stepping inside and shutting the door harshly behind her. She would have to look into this. Nothing was more satisfying than beating someone in their own game. She walked past the desk and up stairs to the second door on the right, opened it, stepped in, threw her cloak and scarf on the bed closest to the window on the opposite wall-the one she claimed as her own for their stay here- and closed the door. Legretta walked over to the bed and climbed onto it on her knees. Then she pulled off her vest because it was far to hot in the room, and was about to start meditating when she had a thought.
'...Archer, you're a pervert if you come into my mind in the next hour.'

Arietta stopped and watched Legretta walk by. Then she looked at the rest of the group who was still standing there, talking a bit. She began walking up to them, this time fully conscious of where she was and where she was going. She stopped about 10 feet short of joining the group, glanced at Cat, who hadn't noticed her yet, and walked the rest of the way shyly, tugging on Cat's sleeve once she got close enough.
"Cat? Who's the person in the black?" She whispered to Cat.
"I-I'm sorry that I'm late..! I got mixed up and went to the wrong place..." She said while looking down at a very interesting piece of dirt.

((I forgot little Ari! It didn't dawn on me until I looked at the top of the page and read the order of arrival! xD))

Cat snickered at Legretta and AA's little... relationship. AA usually thought of himself as top dog, and the smartest there was. But Legretta was a step ahead of him the whole time. Cat felt a small tug on her sleeve, and turned to see Ari, who wanted to know who the 'person in black' was. Cat would have laughed at this had Ari not just practically begged for forgiveness simply for being late.
"...Umm, Ari, no one is mad at you for being late. I just got here not five minutes ago!" She tried using as an excuse so that the girl didn't feel so bad.
"Anyway, the sun's starting to set... We should get to the Inn." She said, hoping she wasn't the only one who was somewhat tired from the long trip to Ensa.
"Let's go, Ari!" Cat added, dragging the small girl behind her as she walked up the path to the village.

Adun almost laughed, enter her mind, he already had an open connection into all of their minds since he had heard their names, which he had extracted from Skaro. He knew he would have to conceal himself more, but then again, he could use her knowledge to his advantage. Reaching into her mind again, e entered the flow and then left, leaving a small bit of energy behind, like the dregs of a cup of tea. He knew that eventually she would become too paranoid of him and have to stop thinking altogether, and she didn't know what else he could do with his power, she was going to be fun to mess with. Now all that was left was to find somewhere to rest, inside would not do, a view of the stars would be best.

((Woah loads to read, so I skimmed a bit. Sorry if I miss anything. xd ))

"Longer than that surely?" Skaro said inside Adun's mind as he looked forwards at the village.

"Seems to be the place," He spoke aloud, "But an inn? I don't need such luxuries! A good fight with a few local bandits would be the only rest I need,"

Skaro looked down at his hands and retracted his steel claws, then stuck his hand in his pocket and took out a small golden item before quickly putting it back. He had found the small item after looting a large bandit fort in the far west a few years back and had found it to have many uses which had aided him in his travels.

((More about that item later. 3nodding ))

Legretta heard a stifled laugh. The archer. So he was a pervert. She felt the presence leave, but something was left behind. Not strong enough to be the archer himself... Legretta's ability rarely worked unless she was meditating. 'Mm... Should I or shouldn't I? Why not?' She shifted her position on the bed, so it would look like she was asleep to anyone who didn't know what she was doing. But since there wasn't a soul other than herself that knew of her ability, she had nothing to worry about. Legretta closed her eyes, and then began to use her ability. She stood up from the bed and looked back at her empty shell of a body. She smirked. There was a presence in her mind no longer. There was no possible way for the archer to get to her now. Legretta walked to the french window and opened it, leaping out and landing on the ground a story below after she had done so. Then she began looking for the archer. Legretta found him sleeping near the fields. Because he was asleep, and she had no body with with to speak or come in physical contact with, she gave him the equivalent of a mental shove and spoke to hime through the same method he and Skaro did. "Meet me at the entrance to the forest..." She whispered into his mind. And with that, Legretta snapped back to her body, jumped out the window once more, and began running-but not at full speed- to the forest.
((Okay-Shoxaju, don't enter into Legretta's mind while she's in her spirit form- that's her safe zone. She's like a ghost in this form, no one can see her unless she wants them to.))
