So shut up, sit down, and let me do my ******** job in peace. ARRRRGH. I feel sorry for every clerk or waitress who ever had to deal with this. I was in this thread on Roliana, another avatar site Waffles once posted about. And I'm seeing this girl talking about how the waiter forgot to give her brother back his credit card at an Olive Garden. She says her brother is like throwing a temper tantrum. I post saying that - hello, everyone is human, people can forget to give cards back. Hell, I did it twice at the department store I used to work at. Then the brother posts bitching about how people should be better trained, and that if he's paying he should get better service, and the waiter did it on purpose to make them order more food, yadda yadda yadda... I was so disgusted I had to leave the thread. I mean, my god, seriously. Like I said at the thread, why the hell didn't her brother notice he didn't have his card? Some people are such horrible customers. It's easy to slip the card into your pocket or put it down somewhere intending to give it back... and then just forget. But to throw such a fit about it? What are you, five years old? Then someone else posted, saying how white people get better service at Olive Gardens. I'm not even joking. She said that her group were the darkest people there, and they got served after a group of 'lighter' people. Then she proceeded to say they stole stuff as they left. God, I freaking wonder why you weren't served first?? Did you ever stop to wonder that some orders take less time?? It totally burns me up, the s**t people put clerks and waiters/waitresses through. And then they still expect to get fantastic service with a bright smile? I hate how people expect workers to be like perfect andriods who never make human mistakes. The thread is here, if anyone wants to go look. It just makes me want to strangle them both. You can tell they've never worked in customer service. P.S. - I never liked that brother and sister anyway, kaworu and hellokittychrissy. She's a b***h and he's a jackass. Both of them are abrupt and rude like nothing's business. It doesn't surprise me in the least that they came from the same family. I hope to god I never meet their parents. D:

*is a retail monkey, and thus totally agrees*
There was a fun (and by fun I mean fun smothered with sarcasm) thread on one of the msn forums that lead to a small article on the things that annoyed people most when dealing with retail stores, and I was horrified at some of the things that people were complaining about. It's as though people don't understand the way the stores work or that the employees have no control over things like policy and thus should not be treated like crap for something the customer doesn't like.
Whoever coined the phrase "the customer is always right" didn't know retail.

I hate that phrase. I totally, seriously do. I got fired from one of my jobs because of that, and I still think it was completely unfair. I think everyone should be required to work in customer service as a clerk or a waiter/ress for at least three months. Maybe then they wouldn't be so impatient. We're not robots. D:

The store I work in has a new return policy going into effect because people are abusing it, and I've had a few customers start treating me like I'm the scum of the earth for informing them in advance that this will be changing. Basically, instead of the usual 30 days with receipt for money back and after that you're able to exchange the item or get store credit for it, we're changing it to fourteen days and you have to have a receipt. After that, you're out of luck because we're not taking it at all.
One woman wanted gift receipts for books she was buying for easter and when I tried to tell her why we were changing the policy (it affected the gift receipts too), she flat-out told me "I don't care" and glared at me. She then told me it was ridiculous and to tell the manager (it was a corporate decision so there's not much at all we can do about it), and that if the other book store didn't have the policy she'd return the books and go there.
Honestly, why do people think saying they'll go to the competitor is a decent insult? All it means for us is that the jerks are going there.

I can understand... But honestly sometimes people really are asses :/
I was at Denny's and I got a breakfast meal where it came with pancakes, and I didn't get pancakes, and so when I asked for the pancakes, she said I didn't get any, and that I had to order them separately for like 4 bucks =o=
I was like "Wtf" =o= And then there was another time where I wanted Raspberry Iced Tea ('cuz I hate regular tea, I just do) and she gave me unsweetened tea like 5 times Dx
The worst I did was not leave them tips... But I didn't go out and chew them out Dx I know how hard it is to deal with people... I can empathize Dx

It's not really a matter of the times when the retail employee or waitress is doing something to be mean about it or messing up repeatedly, it's more that many customers will see the smallest thing as being an insult to their very selves. Some of them think they're entitled to the sun and the moon and when we don't give it to them they think we're holding back to spite them.
And yes, some of my coworkers really are asses sometimes - one only when people are stupid enough to make him pull a double take, and the other because that's just the way he is (why he's still working there I'm not sure).

i remember one time we had a wedding on one weekend, and there was only one room left in the hotel, and the guest staying there was expecting to be able to have access to the whole hotel. he was informed when he made the booking that the wedding would be taking up the majority of the space, but he still expected to get everything
it was sooo frustrating because he made a point of complaining regularly the the serving staff...

If people do that to waiters and co. I will do I back to them. >_< It's funny sometimes. In pizza hut once a family were having a go at a bunch of the staff because of something, can't remember now, but they wouldn't let the staff get a word in. I could see in some of them that they just wanted to shout back at them. I leant back in my chair, turned round to them and shouted out. "Just shut the f*** up!" >_< Everyone went quiet and just stared at me, I just carried on eating. Then suddenly the family started shouting abuse at me. So I walked over to their table, told them they didn't need to shout because I was infront of them. For some reason that made them even madder and one of them went to grab for me. Of course the staff wouldn't stand for that and threw them out on the reasoning that they tried to abuse a fellow customer. >_< After that I got a complimentary pizza! ^_^

I try to be as patient as possible.
But once upon a time, me and my dad waited a resturant for our food for two hours. I don't think we should be polite when we've waited that long, honestly. neutral
Some people need to understand that it takes time, and that the waiters and waitresses are human too, but when you do a poor job, or rude to us, or make us wait a really long time, then we have the right to get annoyed.
It's fast food for a reason.
I will have to look at that thread later. For I am at school right now and should be heading to history. >_><_< Lulz. This should be a good laugh.

I understand being angry if you wait that long. My family has waited that long for food, too, and it's natural to be angry at that point. But even half an hour, particularly if it's busy or you have a difficult or complicated or large order, doesn't seem to be that bad. I'm talking about within reason, you know? Some people freak out over nothing, like having another group be served first when they sat down after you. rolleyes Hearing people complain about that - it's got to be the stupidest thing ever.

That why I try not to get in to jobs like that. D": I applied to the theme park a couple of days ago and they called me today to tell me that they can't hire me because on my application it said that I was going to Spain for 3 weeks. They only give vacations for 1 week. Soooo mad. I really wanted this job! (shouldn't have put that down in the resume) But yea...I still have another job in the park...but I got flipped off sooo many times! Someone slapped my camera off my hands and stoke(sp?) there middle finger at me. D; They're many stupid people out there (I wish I can kill em all). URGGG, AND I HATED WORKING IN McDONALDS! It was the worst.

Oh and I can never be mean to waitress! I can't stand people being so mean to them.... If there is something wrong with my food or I wait for a long time to get my food. I wont tell them anything. I just smile nicely when I see them. They are doing there job and trying there best and if I tell them something or complain, I can't help but think that person will get hurt and start to cry.
Once I ate at McDonald's and the person gave me Root Bear (which I really hate) and I asked for Coka Cola. And I told my sister and she told me to go tell them nicely that they gave me the wrong drink....I couldn't even do that. D': So sad.
