February's contest...


A Banner Contest.

Make a banner to share with us so we can advertise Poll Haven!
*See the rules for banners for this contest in the second post.
*Feel free to browse through our current collection of banners in the banner sticky for inspiration.

To enter:
You must have at least 250 posts in Poll Haven to be eligable. We will check post counts if in doubt before accepting your entry.

We'll take 9 contestants. The first nine to post that they want to play in this thread will be accepted. Don't consider yourself officially accepted until you've been listed below. We'll need a minimum of 3 contestants. Any fewer and the contest will have to be postponed. The contestants will be listed below.

To play:
PM your banner to Poll_Haven. The subject line should be the contest title. I suggest you keep a copy of your entry banner just in case the image link breaks or something else goes wrong. Your entry must be in by the deadline or you'll be disqualified for this contest.

Once the entries are all in:
We’ll post them here and voting will begin. The banners will be posted without the names of the creators to keep voting a bit more fair, if you’re a contestant please don’t point out to people which banner is yours. We’ll have a poll here for all members to vote. Contestants can vote too, but try to be objective. Please only vote once. We’ll have an extra non-vote option for mules to punch so you can still claim gold from the poll. Voting will stay open for about a week.

Winners:
The winner(s) will be announced here and Poll_Haven will hand over the prizes. The names of the contestants will also be added to their banner at this point so you can see who made what. All the banners will be added to the the banner sticky for your fellow PHers to use. The 1st place banner will get a special note saying such next to theirs.

There will be nine prizes. (Not all will be great prizes), but at least everyone will get something for the work they've put in!

6th place: chocolate soft serve hat
7th place: Black Tribal Tattoos- Left arm, Right arm, Torso, and Legs.

wow. Nobody? I figured we'd get at least a couple over the weekend interested in the 1st prize. eek

But I guess the weekend isn't completely over yet.

No. You can use images that are from say gaia itself, or from a stock provider depending on their rules of use, or if someone gives you permission to use their stuff.

I'll leave it up to you whether or not you want to use "googled" type images like doing an image search for a llama or anime charachter or whatever. So technically those are allowed.

Basically I just don't want people going to auto banner generators, pre made web graphics, or using some private citizens art without permission.

Yay that's 2. Just need at least one more to ensure the contest goes ahead.



If there's someone who wants to play but doesn't have the 250 required post count yet. Start working on posting more (bumping in the bump sticky DOES count).

Post here that you don't have enough yet but your interested.

If we spots left for contestants by the deadline (and I'm pretty sure that we will) I'll consider letting those with at least 100 post count play as well. You'd be sort of signing up for second string.

But instead of first come first serve on second string I'll take contestants in order of who has more posts at the time I sign them up.
