"Gonna catchit, gonna catchit, gonna catchit!" the boy chanted, running as fast as his legs would carry him. He'd been chasing it for about twenty minutes, and would have caught it, too, if he hadn't tripped earlier. "It" was a bright orange butterfly with black lines and white spots. He had been chasing it this long; he wasn't losing it now!
Though, due to his rare concentration on his butterfly, he had no idea where he was going, where he had been, or where he was currently. Which, if he would have just looked up a bit more, he would have seen he was in a cherry tree grove. Not just any cherry tree grove, not that there were many, if any others at all, but in THE Cherry Tree Grove.
"Gonna catchit, gonna catchit, gonna ca-" the boy was cut off as his foot was yanked out from under him, his forehead hitting the ground before he was hoisted up into the air. "No! Butterfly!" he protested to the evil rope, trying to swing in the direction of the escaping butterfly. Ed frowned. "Aww..." he said, disappointed. He'd lost the pretty butterfly...and his forehead hurt....AND he was stuck in a tree hanging from Mr. Evil Rope.
Ed began swinging on the end of the rope a bit. At first, his motive was to try and get down, but, after the first two swings, he realized something; this was FUN! The butterfly now forgotten, the boy laughed a little as he swung from side to side. His laughs subsided as he began to hum; sure, he may be stuck up in a tree, but why should he let that get him down? After all, when life gives you lemons, make....ah...something out of lemons? He couldn't remember at the moment.

"Look what the butterfly dragged in," Silva said, stepping out of the shadows of the tree next to the one Ed was stuck in. "A... Damn I'm hoping you're a lost boy," he muttered. "You'll wind up dead soon enough if you're a pirate."
This had to be the first time he had caught a kid that hummed to himself while swinging back and forth. Maybe, he thought dryly, the kid had been dropped on his head a few too many times.

Ed stopped humming, his swinging slowing to a stop as he looked at the Feien. "I'm a lost boy!" he said enthusiastically, grinning as he waved in greeting. "M'name's Edom, but everyone calls me Ed. Whatchur name?" the boy said, his tone curious. Of course, he had to find out the name of his new friend!
"And Mr. Butterfly didn't drag me. I chased-d him, and almost caughtim, too." the boy said, seeming to be proud of the fact he'd almost caught 'Mr. Butterfly'. "But then Mr. Evil Rope yanked me in the air, but then I had fun swingin'." Apparently, Silva wasn't to far off the mark with his observation.

"Do you at least know where you are?" Silva asked. So the kid didn't know who he was... called everything "mister" and was starting to turn red from all of the blood rushing to his face.
Maybe, Silva thought callously, he should just leave the kid there.

Ed paused. Hmm.....now that he mentioned, it, the boy had no idea where he was. He glanced around, seeming to be in deep thought. "Hmmm....a place with a lot of pretty trees?" he asked, having no idea where he was. That would be a problem....he'd have to figure out where he was so he could get home...

"You're in the Cherry Tree Grove," Silva said patiently. "And do you know what happens to kids that are caught in the Grove?"

Ed thought a moment. "They get stuck in rope traps?" he suggested, then it hit him; that would explain where Mr. Evil Rope had come from! "Oooh...." he said, realizing that he was probably in trouble.

"That's right," he said. "They get stuck in rope traps, until all the blood in their bodies rush to their heads and they die." He chewed on his toothpick, feeling purely evil. "Or," he said. "We drag them up to Troll Mountain to feed to the trolls. Which would you prefer?"

Ed smiled for a moment; he'd gotten it right! But, the smile faded a bit as he realized what had been said. "Hmm.....that doesn't sound like much fun...." he said, actually thinking about it. "Is there an option where I don't die or become troll food?" he asked, blinking and attempting to tilt his head to the side.

"Hmmm..." Silva said, thinking about it for a long, long moment. "I'm not seeing anything," he admitted finally. "Unless--" he said.
Then he stopped again. "Nah, I don't think you could pull it off."

"Pull what off?" Ed asked, wanting to know. Was it an errand? He was good at those! Or was it something else? "I could try to pull it off!" He didn't want to become troll chow or just hang here, even if the swinging was fun....

"I want you to get me some things," Silva said. "I want a dozen ripe peaches, and a dozen ripe strawberries. Can you remember that much?"

Ed grinned; it was an errand! "Yep! Ripe peaches and strawberries, twelve o' each." he repeated, nodding. That shouldn't be too hard, should it? And he actually remembered what those were! "I can get 'em!"

"Bring 'em back by the end of the day," Silva said, flying over to the rope pull that would drop him on his head again. "And I won't hunt you down in the middle of the night to feed to Trolls," he added, pulling the rope.

"Okay!" Ed said, grinning before he was dropped down. He hit the ground, then sat back up, shaking his head a moment before getting to his feet. He then ran off; he had some fruits to find! He already knew where some strawberries were, so that just left the peaches to find! He kept running, looking at every bush and tree as he searched. He wasn't sure whether they were grown on tree or on bushes....or even on the ground for that matter. But he had to find them, he just had to!
About three hours later, he was heading back to where he'd last seen Silva, fruit in tow. Though now, he was covered in a whole new wave of bumps, bruises, scrapes, and cuts. It didn't take a genius to realize he must have fallen out of the tree he got the peaches from....several times. Still, he had a grin on his face. He did it! And he remembered! Well, almost...one of the peaches was, infact, an apple. But other than that, he did alright, shockingly enough.
He looked around as he got closer to the Cherry Grove, wanting to hand the fruits over before he tripped or something and squooshed the fruit.
