Signed by its 8 makers, the Pidge handbook is the most important record of Pidge History and information

(Not an essential read, but helps to understand the Pidge world to its fullest)

RP Rules

Try to use a tag for your thread to let others know if you want to play! :3
[OPEN] - open to anyone! for free RP where other pidge can drop in and out.
[ASK] - ask before entering, May have a plot
[PRIV] - a private RP between pidge, theres nothing to stop you from having a read though

Don't Godmode
Pidge are not almighty and niether is yours, sometimes they dont get everything thier own way

Try to keep Out of Character (OOC) chatting to a minimum in RP's
It can be a little distracting, try to keep double brackets around OOC comments

Keep chat-speak out of the RP
Try not to use chat speak and text talk in RP as it takes some translating xd

Don't take RP to heart
Some very lovely people have rather grumpy Pidge, but the views of thier Pidge shouldnt upset you, RP is just for fun.

Shop thread RP is just for fun
Pidge will do unusual things in the shop thread, its just for fun and Pidge world settings dont need apply here. This RP will not help breeding, gain any free items or trigger events.

Don't abandon your RP
Don't start an RP and then vanish for more than a week without leaving some kind of note (pop a notice in the RP thread or PM everyone involved to let them know). Your RP could get deleted.

Important Setting Rules

Pidge cannot talk to any other creature (except Whisperers)
Pidge cannot understand nor communicate with any other creature, just like you cannot understand cats or dogs or finches, niether can Pidge. Whisperers can only understand one or two other species of bird (note to whisperers- try to add a note of the species to your pidge journal)

Pidge do not go near Humans
Pidge do not venture anywhere near humans, whereas normal pigeons will happy wander near people, Pidge on the other hand distrust human-folk. They know about the poison seeds and the gunners, but still they are facinated.

Try to give your Pidge a Pidge-like name
Im not really that strict about the name, but I love to see varied and interesting Pidge names. (Please see the pidge naming hint under 'The World' and 'The Pidge Handbook'). Just to be clear though 'cRAZYpIDGE' probably won't be accepted. xd
High fantasy names don't really suit Pidge, but I wont stop you

The Pidge World

The Pidge exist in world very similar to our own although Pidge do not come into contact with humans, they come into regular contact with thier technology. They are forever interested with how it works and sometimes are too curious for thier own good. Some Pidge can understand human writing (the sounds that the letters make in Pidge speech) but they do not understand the words meaning. This leads them to use these 'intelligent' words as unusual and slightly odd names.
Pidge like to make thier homes in abandoned buildings and places which provide shelter. They like the quiet away from people and they also need protection from the elements.
The Pidge from this shop all exist in one small town,... they call it whatever they feel like at the time, pidges from other towns are known as 'foreigners' and for a pidge to travel to another town would be to 'travel abroad' as pidge do not move location much.
Pidge find human objects when out and about and these things which they do not understand, can provide them with hours of amusement (although they have got to grips with paper bags, just) newspapers would for example be a facinating snag for a scavenger other good examples of scavenger bounty would be reels of cotton, a paint brush, a broken bracelet and packet of mints.

On Pidge Law

Pidge Law is mostly for RP purposes and helps flocks build a sense of community and creates a different spin on RP giving (hopefully) a richer feel to the Pidge world. XD

Laws can be broken into two categories:
Unaviodable Laws which have to be obeyed: these laws are to make flocks a little different to each other (like inking, at the moment Baker and Ma are using almost opposing colours which has created a sort of 'team colour' for these two flocks. The two flocks have such opposite colours because these two flocks have always had a slight grudge against each other. These colours help to reinforce thier loyalty to thier flock. Other flocks which may appear later may have no problem with these colours as they havent got on the wrong side of these clans)Some laws a pidge has to obey like inking colours . A pidge cant really stroll around in banned ink colours and not be expected to be found out, any inkers would not allow a pidge to be inked in that way.
Some laws are for helping make interesting RP: like not bieng allowed out after dark or not speaking to a member of a certain flock. These laws are in place for RP so that a plot could be worked out which is interesting and exciting. Secret night-time meetings, or dilemmas could be invented. These laws are there to show that this is banned by the flock but like real laws, they can be broken, but there will be a price if caught. You might even be ratted in by a fellow flock member if they catch you doing somthing banned, just depends how much they like you(of course you may not even be caught)

Punishments can vary, it depends really how serious the crime. But a little warning, Baker is more harsh than Ma.
Ma does not Exile for no reason, she only does so when she has to, she loves all her flock members but if repeat offenders arise or if they break the ultimate taboo of killing another Pidge. then she has no choice and she regrets these events deeply.

Examples of other known punishment:

The Mark of the Traitor (a special inking)
Exile (known as the ultimate punishment)
Clipping (a rather extreme punishment from Bakers flock of clipping the flight feathers to stop flight for a certain amount of time confining the victim to the Roost)
