 Bruno looked around. It was still winter, thin frost was still lain on the bare branches of the trees, the grass was dry and old. The air still had the chill in the breeze. The ulaya sighed, when will spring every come? It seemed like ages, years maybe to him, but in reality, it was just a few monthes. He longed to hear the birds chirp and smell the cooling smell of new grass.
Bruno sat down under the normal tree he inhabited under cool summer evenings and stared tediously at the bark as if willing it to sprout new life.

 Hope; returning from her rendevous with her sister and niece, found herself straying away to the usual path she took home. After being kicked out of her sister's home multiple times, it was finally time for her to set out on her own and find a nice male to settle down with. Her choice in mates wasn't at all picky, just as long as they were witty and entertaining. Someone would was willing to put up with her lack of a few couple hundred brain cells.
With gusto, she pawed around at the ground, imagining what kind of ulaya she'd want to live with. Her mind fluttered around in a trance-like content. Hope, feeling a little crestfallen once her mind shutdown on daydreaming came upon a tree that looked comfy enough for her to go into deep thought. If that was possible. Hope snugged up against the side opposite of Bruno and looked up at the branches, letting her mind process.

Bruno stared moodily at the branches and thought about his life. He had hardly ever met any other ulayas aside from his 'family' and another ulaya named Sasha, but he hadn't seen Sasha for ages. He gave a sigh, what was he going to do with his life? Achyuta had fallen in love, Autumn was being the absolute queen of the world, Aimez was being a little Mr. Nice Guy and the box, well, it was just being a box. Nobody seemed to really care about him more, he was just another plain old ulaya
"Life is so boring."He muttered, not noticing that he had voiced this thought out loud.

Hope awoke from her trance at the sound of a mumble interrupting the silence. With a jolt, she realized that something was here. She slunk to her feet and looked out to the horizon with squinted eyes. Back and forth she looked around, scanning all around ecept in the one spot where the voice was actually originating from; behind her.
"Not really. There's lots to look forward to in life!" Hope encouraged the voice. Leave it to her to attempt to cheer up something she couldn't even see.

Bruno jumped at the sudden voice, was somebody with him? He stared around, there was nothing there except from the branches and the tree trunk, little did he know that another ulaya was behind it. Bruno scratched his eyes, he must have be hallucinating. Ah well, since hallucinating was so much more interesting than real life, why not continue to hallucinate?
"Really, like what? By the way, are you my concious or imaginary friend something of that sort?"asked Bruno interestingly.

Without hesitation, Hope thought of all the things in life she enjoyed. To list it all out would take ages, so Hope found it uneccessary to do so. Listening more intently, she turned to her side to find out where the voice was coming from.
"Liiiiike, the never-ending thrill of traveling, the serenity of music, meeting other ulaya, even." Hope explained.
At the other's comment of imaginary friends, Hope had basically been thinking the same thought. It was impossible to be an imaginary friend's imaginary friend..right? Perplexed, she reserved her right to answer his question.

]"Yes, those are quite fun, I suppose life isn't that boring after all....but I haven't met any new ulayas for quite a while."said Bruno interestingly, it was actually quite fun talking to an imaginary ulaya. He should seriously consider having hallucination more often.

Hope, still lost in translation, thought on what he was saying. Did she not even exist? With a moment's hesitation, she pawed her way to the other side of the tree, revealing herself to the other. Another ulaya sitting on the other side of the tree made her more aware of the situation, finally.
"So, I'm not real?" she asked with a crestfallen tone.
Maybe she didn't even exist, it was posssible none of this existed. The complexity of the thought made her push it to the back of her mind. It was a painful one for her brain to comprehend.

Bruno was rather surprised when another ulaya came from behind the tree and asked if she was real. Bruno tilted his head sideways, she looked real enough or was his imagination going wild again as usual? Then he reached out and prodded her shoulder.
"You seem real enough."said Bruno satisfied.

A little wary of the male's intentions, Hope tilted her head. She eyed him up and down and couldn't help but smile. He was handsome, alright. She sighed quietly, secretly relieved that she wasn't losing her mind. With a slow blink, she adjusted herself to a more presentable position, so as to not look like a complete slob.
"What exactly are you doing out here anyway if you find life so boring? There wouldn't be an ulaya out here unless they were mental." Hope inquired.

"Well, it is rather uneventful in my family and nothing seems to be happening, I was actually sitting right here waiting for spring to come. Doesn't spring bring joy, fun and changes in weather? Ah well, I suppose I must be mental, I was just thinking that I was having halluncinations before you came. I'm actually pretty glad I'm not having them, if I was, that would mean that I am really crazy."replied Bruno, he looked at the female ulaya up and down, she cream colored and very pretty, he paused and said,"Sorry for forgetting to introduce myself, I'm Bruno. You?"

Hope listened to his story interested. If anything, it was almost similar to her own, seeing as their families were both rather tedious at times. all her sister ever wanted to do was spend time with her mate and teach her daughter about life lessons and keep her from hurting herself with her siblings as the were all male. The other two were consistently off on their own and she grew apart from Melody too long ago. Likewise, the last was always pouring over a lined piece of paper making up words to sing to.
"The name's Hope. You knoooow, if you're that unentertained, you wouldn't mind some company, would you?" Hope said.

"Seeing as you're so eager for spring, I saw we go look for it ourselves!" said Hope almost triumphantly.
Massaging the thinning layer of snow below her paws, she looked up at the tree sheltering them from the sun. A few budding leaves were scattered amongst the branches. Hope scrambled to the base of the tree, hopped ont oher hind legs and pointed her muzzle straight up.
"See? Your spring is coming! There's always hope." she said with a giggle.

"Really?"said Bruno excitedly, yes, there it was, spring at last, he chuckled,"So this is why you are called Hope."Then he started to run to and fro about the gigantic tree in happiness.
