Shira yawned, her jaws stretching as wide as possibly before she shut her mouth with a click.

Gods, but it was getting BORING out here. She hadn't had fun since she'd met that one boy, what's-his-name. She grinned at the memory, but even so - that had been weeks ago! It was time for a change, and a big one at that!

Time to get moving again.

The lioness climbed to her feet and padded out from under her midday shelter. It was overcast today, but even so the plains were sweltering. She wanted rain, and lots of it! On the horizon the clouds were billowing and dark, heavy with the promise of rain. As she watched distant thunder rolled and the grass rippled under the force of a strong wind. It reached her and blew past, carrying with it the cooling scent of rain...

That decided her. Without a backwards glance she loped towards the clouds, her paws thudding dully on the hard-baked earth beneath her.

The purple lion came loping across the savannah. It was daytime by now, ugh, he was so tired! But nothing could stop him. Angani had been running to find Shira since last night. He was getting tired of this rogue wandering life, he wanted to have his job back and everything.

Little leaf in mouth, Angani knew he'd have to find Shira, it was of utmost importance. He'd found the little plant between his paws last night... Between his own two grass-marked paws. The little leaf... to think it was so significant! He didn't know that it wasn't really the real herb, but he hoped that if it wasn't, it'd be some related plant. Perhaps that would mean they were on the right track.

Then he heard it. A purple ear twitched as the sound of rumbling thunder reached them. Followed shortly by the rains. He turned his green-and-blue eyes towards the storm, and it wasn't 5 more minutes before the rain reached his position and he started to get drenched. He could feel his mane de-poofing, something he truly didn't like. The male liked it poofy. "Complainin' 'on't do any good" he said to himself through gritted teeth with a positive tone.

Then he spotted the lioness ahead, she was headed right for him! And the rain, but he preferred to think she was headed towards himself. He was bearing news from the other group, after all!

"Shira!" Angani called as loud as he could from between gritted teeth, though he wasn't sure if he'd be heard over the storm.

Shira paused in her headlong run, her ears twitching. She could've sworn she heard someone shout her name! She could barely make out anything over the roar of the wind as it ripped across the savanna. A curtain of silver raced towards her even as she watched, and she made no effort to seek shelter. The storm hit, and within a minute she was soaked. Thunder ripped the sky open above, lightning lashed the earth like tongues of flame, and a torrent of water drowned the dry land.

She loved every minute of it. She WAS the storm, wild and unfettered, here one second and gone another! Powerful, hypnotic, alive an--

"Ugh! What the -- Oh." A male, and a handsome one at that! Shira quickly replaced her expression of annoyance with one of sly pleasure. "Enjoying the weather, boy?" She questioned, grinning.

"Not particularly, but at least it's refreshing," Angani said before another clap of thunder pierced across the savannah. No, he wasn't particularly enjoying it, but he wasn't going to complain. His mane covered up his green eye- it was so wet that all of the poof was taken out of it. The drenched male looked a bit lost. "You seem to be enjoying it, though, that's good." He added through gritted teeth.

Back to business- he was on a business trip, not a vacation, if you will. "You're Shira?" He asked with a small, but quick tilt of his head. The male's tail swished lightly behind him, though the black tuft, like his mane, was de-poofed and dragged in the mud.

... wait. How did he know her? Sure, she SHOULD be known far and wide, but at the moment she didn't really think that she was. The only lions who really knew her were her family and Unyezi's --

-- ah, that's right!

"And you're Angani." She had to admit, she was pretty proud of herself for remembering. But how could she forget those bi-colored eyes, or the green vines? Granted, his paws seemed a bit muddy and that mane wasn't as... poofy as it normally seemed. The lioness arched one brow and gave the male a knowing smile. "Unyezi sent you?"

"I am, kinda hard to tell in the storm, isn't it?" Ang asked through gritted teeth. Part of him wanted to get near to a tree so that, should lightning strike, it would kill the tree and not him (or Shira) but he didn't want to harm his reputation... After all, he was a strong guard who was capable of stopping the most desperate lions.

He dipped one of his paws in the deepest water puddle that was forming in the storm (to clean off mud) before raising it to his mouth and removing the little leaf. "Unyezi sent me to ask you to examine... this." He held out his paw, pads up with a little leaf in the center. "You know about the herb, is this it? I remember where I found it if it is, Unyezi and I weren't sure if this was it or not..." He looked from the leaf to the lioness, then back. He was sure she could help.

Suddenly the sense of adventure fled from the forefront of her mind. It was still there, but priorities had to be set. The female squinted briefly at the leaf, her eyes narrowed as she studied its natural architecture. Long stem, flat and somewhat narrow, pungent smell (even in this rain!)...

"Follow me." Without another word, the dark female turned and trotted off into the rain and wind, her head bent into the storm. She wasn't worried about Angani being able to keep up (if he couldn't he shouldn't be a guard in the first place!) so she set a brisk pace. It was a good quarter of an hour before the caves came into sight, tucked away at the base of a sandstone cliff face.

She paused at one, then entered, her eyes scanning the darkness. Dammit, Nerit! Shira cursed under her breath. Damn slave was gone, probably lost in the storm or something equally idiotic. Shira grimaced once, then schooled her face into seriousness and turned to face Ang.

"Tell me - where did you find this leaf? Where is Unyezi?"

Angani nodded solemnly and kept up with no difficulties. After all, should a slave-rogue get by him, he'd need to chase them down and catch them fast. He was capable of keeping up. He couldn't help but wonder where they were going, but just as he was about to ask, the destination came into view. He had guessed right. He waited at the entrance, looking this way and that. They had a nice setup...

His thoughts were broken by her words. "It came from a small plant back where our group was searching. Unyezi is there, it's about three-quarters... a full days walk there. To the Southeast," He said confidently. "Is something wrong?" He had to ask, judging by her grimace, something was up.
