Alex entered the forest without a care for time or where he was. He was out of the house, out of the office...he was being in the natural world where things collided and he could see it all. He didn't even say anything to Skyling as to wear he was going. He just left.

Out in the forest was another creature, one that lived there whenever she was not at home with her mother. Bright green hair speckled with bright red berries shown in the moonlight. The other thing that shone was the metal instrument she had brought out. The nightingale's were singing so she put the instrument to her lips and began to blow. The flute's melody joined in with the singing birds and the small undera swayed back and forth to the rhythm as she played.

Alex floated onward, his whole form itching to change, to grow and yet something was holding him back. What it was was beyond his recognition. He as growing more agitated until he heard the sound of a flute. The melody was rather joyous and Alex tilted his head to listen closer, little fangs peeking from inside his mouth.

Mistletoe, the sweet holly fairy, continued to play her song and dance in the moonlight. She loved being outside, where the birds would sing to her and nature would speak to her. Her mother had told her she was a spirit of nature so she would always feel more at home there rather than a city or town. She agreed, but sometimes it was lonely being out here on her own. Jasmine lived on her own and Lotus stayed in the creek or in his little library. It was just her and her birds.

Alex shuddered as he floated, following the sound of the flute. the sound itself had him trapped in his own little daze world. He followed until he darted behind a tree, barely peeking out at the dancing fairy.

Little Mistletoe laughed as the birds flew around her. Her dark green hair twirling with her and the red berries that grew there dancing back and forth. She continued her dance when the birds suddenly stopped. She blinked, the animals were always more aware than her. When they stopped, that meant something was near by. She glanced about, hoping a large animal hadn't come near by. "Hello? Is someone there?"

Alex held his breath and prayed the birds would keep singing. When they didn't he scowled. He poked his head out from around the tree.

Mistletoe blinked as the dark haired boy peeked around the tree. She smiled brightly. It wasn't a bear! It was another child! "Hi there! Don't be shy! The birds just don't know you is all! Would you like to come out and play?" She fluttered her dark wings and moved closer to him. Her flute was held close to her as she looked to the new person. It wasn't often she met strangers out here in her mother's woods.

"Ack!" He flailed and nearly toppled over. He was still a kid so his balance wasn't the most graceful as he kept hoping it would be when he was older.
On the ground, he peered up at her with his green gaze and blinked. "Play?"

"Yeah! Play! We can play tag or hide and seek or maybe a guessing game! I like to play! Or we can dance! I like dancing too! Oh! My manners!" She giggled a bit and did her best to curtsey as she was only chest and up. "My name is Mistletoe. What's yours?"

"It is nice to meet you Alexander!" She smiled then blinked at his question. Alone? She wasn't alone. She had her bird friends. Oh! He ment without an adult around. She giggled softly and shook her head. "Oh I live out here with my mummy and older brother and sister. We live in a cabin by a stream near here. I like to come out here and play for the birds whenever mummy lets me come out at night. Say, why are YOU out here all alone?"

"No no." She shook her little pink finger at him. "It's not safe to be alone in a place you don't know! Come on! You can come to my house! Mummy is very nice! She can give you a treat!" She reached out and grabbed onto his hand and started pulling him through the trees. The path widdened and a small cottage glowing with warmth appeared in the distance. "That's mummy's house. The stream near by is where my brother Lotus lives! Jasmine, my sister, lives in a little house over there." She points off into the trees.

"Shouldn't you be inside as well if it's not safe?" In truth he felt like he knew the forest better. At least, he felt more comfortable in the earth and soil then he did in the home he shared with Skyling.
