Ah. Unyenyezi had a bit of a problem.

She'd wandered away from the others and now she wasn't sure which way they had gone. After realising her mistake, she had found the highest ground she could. But no matter which way she looked, she didn't see anyone she recognised. There was a few other creatures about the savannah, including quite a few fellow lions but none of her pridemates. Which was not exactly an ideal position to be in... especially when the pride was on the move. What if she couldn't find them?

She kept scanning the grasslands anxiously, kneading the earth with her claws. Bother, bother, bother. If she didn't find them, she'd get left behind and finding their new homeland would any guidence or help at all would be hard. Her whole life was about the pride. All she knew was their ways, their history and Great Lion guard her, she needed them.

Mwenzangu was a bit happy to be back in the warmer climate of areas that weren't on top of a mountain. Though there were very many pretty things up there, and he knew that he could get used to the cold and the snow, he decided that it might be a bit more comfortable to live back in the warmer savannah.

Of course, that would help if he actually knew where he was. He was lost himself, and though he never much had a home, he still wanted a place to call home. But none of this would do at all.

He let his red eyes scan around the area. There were a few lions romping around, but it was a bit awkward to just stroll right up to one and ask where he was.

Hmmm. Oh wait! There was one, up high on the ground. Well, hey, maybe they knew where they were and he could at least get a grounding as to where he was, and where he needed to go.

"Miss? Miss!" he called out, his paws slowly making their way to the dark grey lioness.

"Hello?"

She turned to look at the white and black male who seemed to be calling over to her, curious. Nyezi hoped she didn't look so foolishly anxious up on her hilltop that someone had actually come over. She'd die of embaressment, she really would. Being lost was fine but loosing her cool...though it did save the bother of going to adress a stranger directly, she supposed.

The tarnished-silver female padded forward a few lengths to meet the caller, summoning a friendly smile for all her worries. As her mother - no no, it'd been great Aunty Buri? - well, as someone had once said, being friendly brought more happiness into the world and never did anyone any hurt.

He skidded to a halt, taking a selfish moment to catch his breath. There was no point in trying to speak with her when he couldn't control his breathing, and thought that even if it took a moment, it was much more polite than breathing all over her.

"Aah, thank you so much," he said, flashing a genuine smile back. "I'm just a bit lost...do you have idea idea where we are?" He let his red eyes blink, looking over her. Pretty indeed. Not that his mind ever went that way, he just appreciated pretty things without being sleezy about it. Maybe with a bit of decoration, she'd be super pretty, like some of the flower and shiny rocks he had come across on his way down from the mountains.

"I'm sorry, I'll be no help there I'm afraid." Oh the irony! He was lost as well. What a pair they made, two lions out of this lot - meaning the assorted rogues moving around the grasslands - who were both not moving and not sure which way to go. Quite amusing really.

"I'm lost too." She raised a paw to her cheek, sheepishly, just as embaressed as she thought she'd be. Never mind he was lost as well. "I can't spot my pridemates anywhere."

Pridemates? "Is there a pride around here, then, if you're looking for them?" He really didn't know too much about prides, even though he almost found a home in one. But even then, that didn't mean he knew much.

He looked around a bit, as if trying to see if he could see them. Fat chance, but hey, he was a nice guy, he'd try! "So, what do they look like?" Maybe they looked like her? He knew that Safi's pride were mostly full of white lions, so maybe they were all the same colour as she was.

He kept looking, though, and didn't see any that were her colour. Maybe she really was lost? Well...he was too. Maybe they could stick together? Saftey in numbers was something that he always believed in.

"There's lost of prides around - mine's called the Mwezi'Johari, we're traveling to a new homeland. Except I wandered off too far." She explained. "A few have markings simular, but most are brown, white, blue or all three."

Her family had always been silvery as the blessed moon and there'd been many in the pride with grey and charcoal-back fur. The war had taken that away. Based on looks alone it wouldn't be easy. But she still had quite a pawful of pridemates and she really wanted back to them.

"Have you a pride you're trying to get back to? I know roughly where a few are from asking fellow travelers. We could help one another."

Zangu shook his head. "No, I have no pride. I did live in the mountains, but slowly all the members seemed to vanish. It became quite lonely, so I left. I never much had a home, but I was trying to figure out where I was. It would give me a basis as where to go." He knew of some places not to go, and that was more of his worry than anything else.

His red eyes scanned the area again. He still didn't see any...just some pretty things off in the distance that glimmered a bit in the light. He stared at the for a moment longer before pulling himself away to look back at the lioness.

"Umm...yeah, I can't see them either," he replied. "Maybe we can find them together? I wouldn't mind trying to help. I have nothing better to do."

"Thanks for trying." She raised an eyebrow, and despite the obvious sarcasm her tone was gentle. Of course he couldn't seen them now, she'd meant before obviously, the silly dear. Still, it was nice of him to offer, of course.

"And if you've nothing better to do that would be pleasant.Always nicer traveling with others, I find. And we can easily find out where we are as well as we go, for you..." His name. Had he given her his name her? No, no, wait he hadn't. Best she start off the introductions then. Seemed a bit off for him to know her pride but not her name.

" I'm Unyenyezi, by the by."

"You're welcome!"

Zangu was listening intently to the lioness, though it hadn't crossed his mind that they had not exchanged names until the awkward time came up. Oops. That was his reply to everything, especially the things that he forgot.

"Mwenzangu," he replied. "Though Zangu is simple enough if you would like to use that," he added on with a goofy grin.

He did, though, take a moment to offer her a bit of a respectful bow. It wasn't much, and pretty slight, easy to miss. "Well, that would be nice, now. Maybe after a little walking around I can figure out what to do now." He didn't mind not having a home, but having nothing really to do was a bit annoying. Traveling a bit would be a plus, especially with someone that had a goal in that traveling.

"My friends used to call me Zizi once upon a time."

Oh so long ago. Back when the last king ruled over the pride and before the war and didn't Agenti'mia marry a slave in the third summer of...? No wait. No reminiscing over the pride's history. She wasn't working right move and she knew she smiled an odd little crooked smile when she remembered like that. A fond farawayness. Would look bizarre.

"Pleasure to meet you, Zangu." She returned the bow with a curtsey, lowering her head with one paw out, the other against her chest.

Zangu grew a bit embarassed over the curtsey, or what looked like a pretty deep bow to him. Ooohh, no, he was just Zangu, nothing more, nothing less.
"N-no need for that," he struggled to say. "We can just be friends, right?" He gave another grin, but it was a bit more stressed this time.

"Besides, maybe she would keep an eye out for your pridemates just in case they decided to pop their heads up," he added on, letting his red eyes scan around again. They weren't meerkats, but still, they might just pop up anywhere!

"This might be kinda fun, though. Doing something productive seems nice, for once."

"Sorry, I'm a bit old fashioned sometimes. And sure." She apologised but with a chuckle. If he was unsettled and went his own way, it'd be sad, but she was too old to change her ways now. Besides, it looked nicer and gave a lion more elegance to bow like that rather than some odd head bang. Or so said Aunty Shengi, that artsy old...ah yes. Nevermind.

"Well. The chase is on I suppose - shall we try to the east? We came from the west, so, makes sense."
PostPosted: Tue Feb 12, 2008 8:08 pm

Zangu bobbed his head in agreeance. "Going towards the east sounds like a good plan." He glanced around a bit with his red eyes, again. He was just making sure, really! "We should probably ask others that we cross paths with if they've seen them. Certainly they would if it's a group larger than two or three...." he thought again. "Well, maybe you should, since I'm not so sure what they look like."

He took a couple steps forwards, towards the east. He was ready. He did peer over his shoulder though, to make sure that Unyenyezi was, as well.

"The pride has split up to search for new lands, it's vital we find just the right place...so with all of us running about like homeless kittens, chances are we'll run across one of the little groups eventually. " She fell into step beside him while she offered the information. Since he was traveling with her and had offered help, he should know what was going on. It was only fair. But Zizi would fill him in bit by bit if he seemed interested or needed to know further details. The recorder-priestess wasn't about to blab all their secrets in the first few minutes.
