So yeah... I'm on a sushi and bookoo beng right now. So I thought that I would make a thread to see if any of my fellow penguins like sushi? and maybe chat alittle.

I have actually never had it before.
But there is this little stall at our mall that sells these bento things, and I've been wanting to try one. :'D But I don't want to spend twenty two dollars on it, especially if I don't like it.

Haha! That's cool. I'm eating sushi right now. Crab meat wrapped in seaweed and rice, covered with seasame seeds. Yum! California rolls are my favorite though.

I just get a full moon platter. It has all kinds of sushi. I don't know which kinds but like all of them. I love that platter. I wants more sushi. I hated it thee first time then had some good sushi and now can't get enough. But woooo that wasabi. *fans at mouth* I had one large glob of it on one of my sushi rolls...I couldn't talk for a second. But it's a good sorta spice because it lasts 30 seconds then fades. It doesn't linger like Mexican spice does. (Sorry Shinneh) And if you put wasabi, soy, & ginger all on top it's like a flavor paradise. I had green tea with it and an asian mandarine and ginger salad with beans and such in there. It was yummy. Best thing was I planned out the salad myself and sushi to go with it. But I put together the asian salad with a stir fry mix of asian vegetables, mandarine orange slices, cranberries, and a ginger dressing. Simple as Pie and I loved it.

@everyone, Yeah sushi is the best!!! I never thought I would like it, but then my friend took to this really pretty sushi bar she introduced me too it...and since then I've became terribly addicted too it. O.o Well all but Eel.
To those you that haven't tried it, it's not to horrible just have to get use to the texture and stuff.

I like sushi. Surimi rolls are my favorite. It's like white trash sushi. XD Crab meat and mayonnaise with rice and seaweed. :] Yummy. Last time i had sushi, i tried octopus. It was good, but really tough.
I like eel, but i've never had it in sushi form. This Japanese place i go to has the best eel. It's called Unagi Don. It's broiled eel in Teriyaki sauce with rice. I'm hungry now. :[

I remember a few years back I went to a Japanese restaurant whilst at a jazz festival in Toranto, and I tried shark, eel, and calamari, but not the sushi my dad had. I had teriaki (spelling?) salmon, and it was really good.

I've never tried it, either. I think I'd like to, but like Grin-chan said, it's fricking expensive. D: There's a place at a supermarket here that sells it, and there's also a restaurant at the mall. I went to the stall in the supermarket once and almost died at the price. I would try it if I had a friend with me, so we could split the price and both try it at once, but I wouldn't buy some when I'm alone. If I didn't like it, I'd have to throw it out, and it would be a waste... Next time one of my friends come to visit me, I'm going to make them get some with me. 3nodding

Yeah most of it is really expensive. x.x Especially when you get the big party trays. But an alternative is go to safeway "if you have one in your state." And go to the chinese deli and buy the kind with crab or cooked fish in it.. it's only like 5 something a box.
