Boma'burudi the goddess of the earth's womb waddled slowly, heavy with child for the second time since her asscenion into the surface world. This pregnancy was much calmer and she was not as frightened for this child's safety, she was going to deliver the thing directly to it's new caregiver and be done with it. No middle goddess, no worrying, or so she thought. Making her away across the land she hummed softly the melody of the earth to herself. She hoped this child would have some connection to the earth, unaware that Tetemeko felt his own ties to the earth, a gift she unknowingly gave him.

"Oh me oh my, how happy am I," she muttered out loud and as soon as it escaped her lips she let out a low pitched chuckle fluttering her wings in the same eerie way she always did letting out a cacophony of unrelated metallic sounds. Her gold and silver feathers clashing together leaving a few gems behind.

Even the thoughts of that angering Zeki could not tare now her spirits, this was indeed a good day, the sun was high in the sky marking mid day and the warmth it gave off was just right, nothing could ruin this.

As always each foot fall of the bone thin god was marked by a creaking of his joints. he knew no happiness nor sadness nor any other emotion that other beings may cling to, he had long ago distanced himself from such things, for to feel such would force him to feel that which he was. Starvation.

The pallid flesh moved in a sickening fashion over the bones, the skin tight over the long whithered mucle. Jaddis wandered the world in silence his lips sown together so that he could never injest that which kept others alive, he walked the earth a living corpse only attending his duety and nothing more. That after all, was what he was supposed to do, that was his fate, hsi destiny.

It was then that cold, stoney eyes fell upon a familiar creature one he recognised as the goddes off earths womb. He had spoken to her beforte only to have been left feeling exhasperated and threatened. He was no weak god after all though his body looked whithered and frail he owned power which he did not often use.

Letting a long ratteling breath escape his lips he continued on his path, if the goddess wished to speak to him she would have to address him, he had no need to speak to someone who did not understand what he was.

She stopped in her tracks as the familiar bony form appeared in her line of sight, she struggled to recall his name, remembering being so concerned for him. Jad...hmm..Jaddis, wasn't it? She remembered threatening him in her youth, it seemed not that long ago, but indeed it was practically a life time the son she was trying to protect was nearly an adult.

"Starvation, going someplace interesting?" she quickened her pace the best she could, a two small pieces of her tri-personality jutted forward the mother and the innocent maiden they rarely came together, but her concern for him was evident, it just didn't seem right for him to be so thin, no matter what and the playful nature he good mood gave her caused her to be excited to see an old friend.

"Do you remember me?" She said as she neared him more, their previous conversation came to her in flashes and she suppressed a blush, how silly, young naive.

Taking in a bone shattering breath the stoney eyed god looked at the young female his ears twitching amidst his ragegd mane. It wasn't very often that parts of him moved naturally his whole being spoke of unnaturalness, for what other creature could live in such a state. "I never forget a face." his voice whispered directly in to her ears though the head did not look directly at her the voice addressed her in a perfectly civil manner.

The ragged form sat slowly the shoulder blades looking as if they must tear through the sickly coloured fur. "If I sit earth mother am I to be berated once again or has age braught you wisdom?" The shadowey head moved with the voice at last, those cold grey eyes looking at the young female before him. He could certainly sence something different even strange about her, he had seen many gravid females in his time but never a goddess.

"Is it that which you so avidly protect earth mother? I have never seen an imortal with child I thought perhaps we could not bear whelps in to the world thought hen the question aired would be where do new gods come from hmm?" after this rather lengthy speach the god finally seemed to remember he was supposed to be breathing and let out a slow death rattle his head lolling with the effort of breathing.

She caught up to him completely and kept pace hoping he would sit and chat for a bit, "I wouldn't say I berated you, I was fearful, hormones do that to a lady," she chuckled a very natural sound, everything about her screamed nature had a part of her creation, the earth itself had 'welped' her and it gave her a large piece of it's personality. She forgot how eerie the way his speech was, how he didn't need to speak directly to her, but how his voice came just the same.

"It is not an immortal that waits in my womb for it's day to come to the surface, dear one," she added an affectionate term to him hoping it would help him understand she was sorry, and that she considered his creepy being a friend, "a mortal, possibly mortals wait within me, I wish..how I wish that an immortal son would take its place." she murmured her gravelly voice sounded disappointed, not sad. Where did new gods come from? Hmm...she wondered inwardly and decided to ask another god the next time they spoke.

"Do you need to breathe?" she inquired, hoping he didn't it was disturbing to look at. She pulled the knowledge she had acquired about him before. No god or goddess really needed to breathe or eat, she was almost certain of this. So why did he make a point of doing it?

"Perhaps not goddess, but your words spoke of unknowing, I am not here on this plane to make others lives miserable, I simply do as I am supposed to, to abandon my fate would mean death and though this body may not seem worth living for I do not want to leave it completely." That strange voice echoed straight to her ears though as was the norm, the body did not react to the words, the lips did not move the eyes stayed stoney and grey stareing straight ahead as if in to some abyss.

"A mortal took you to their heart?" His voice echoed it sounded confused strangled almost, he could not imagine a mortal taking a god as their soul. For a split second then the decrepit gods eyes flickered and dark pupils shimmered behind the dirty grey of his stone caste eyes. They swiftly faded though and the bone thin lion sat still and silent.

"Many find it stranger if I do not breath than if I do though if you wish it goddess I will not breath." To not breath wasn't difficult for Jaddis, he had to force the body to do it any way. A strange silence fell over the body of the sickly coloured god as the breath vanished from his body and all that sat before the goddes was a body in a vertical possition silent as death itself.

She sat down, looking rather rotund as she did so, her heavy belly pressed against the earth, staring at him, he was not bad to look at, but not a god she would find attractive, possibly if he was not so thin and more lively, but as described he reminded her of a moving corpse, something disturbing, and at first glance yes she would have found him repulsive, but after seeing him again she did not think the same.

"I still do not understand what makes you this way, why you do not just eat? But, I understand the call of duty," she bowed her head and then looked back up at him. His weird wording about taking a mortal made her freeze and look at him, his stony eyes changed and she did a double take but they were as cold as ever staring off.

"I took this mortal, he..he holds a very dear place in my heart, his death with probably hurt a lot, what am I saying, not probably, it well hurt," she said again, maybe this was something to burst her bubble after all, "Why do you find a mortal lover so strange?" she inquired.

"And if you want you can breath, it looks so eerie, in my presence you have no need of it."

A decrepit paw lifted from the ground and those claws touched the sown lips. "When this was done to me I forsook my stomach for those that I must watch over." The whole body trembled only being held up by three paws but he sat with a claw, which was unable to be sheathed due to the fact that the toes which held them had long ago lost their mucle and fat from them. The paw slowly fled back to the ground and the bone thin body once again stopped trembling under the effort of holding itself up. "This body, what you see, is what those of my domain feel, every starving stomach has gone towards this body, it must starve and suffer as they do, I would ask for no other life." His voice whispers, that strange eerie call almost strangled by the question. It was hid duety to be what he was, he was starvation there was nothing more he could be and to let those whom he watched over suffer while he rolled around fat and happy like the other gods of the world was unjust to him even though centuries past he had disjointed his true self from the body he still felt the pain of hunger when he went to their sides.

"Every day Boma, I watch mortals struggle towards life or give up and fall in to the world of death as they always do, you may think me uncareing because of how I look, because of my domain that I cannot look upon mortals and enjoy their short lives. I have forever enjoyed them mistress of the womb but to bring forth children from them, to think that they may suffer by that which I am watcher of." he pauses and without a moments hesitation those eyes once again became glossy and full of pain. "I would not wish what I follow upon anyone, let alone my own kith and kin." The large sickly corpse of a god let out a squeeling breath, it was unlike his usual breathing, this was a cry of pain whisteling through the sown lips. It quickly stopped though and the body shuddered the eyes returning to dust and shadows.

As he spoke she quickly understood, he embodied starvation, he did not seem to have any control over it, just as the mortals who were taken by it did not have any control over it. His squeal of pain tugged at her heartstrings and she jumped at the new sound.

"I know you probably do not need it, but if I can offer any sort of help, let me be off assistance to you?" she murmured and something that was very unlike her, leaned forward and gave his cheek a comforting like, like a mother would do for her cub. Something to say 'i understand, it's alright.'

"I bring my children into this world out of selfishness, needing the companionship of another so much that I allow a mortal to haunt my heart, and I..I lust after him when my loneliness grows too much, I cannot help it, it feels as if I will forever be a prisoner to my mortal feelings," she murmured and looked up at him, concern in her eyes. She wished she could help him, but understood that much of what he was going through was his own choice.
PostPosted: Sat Feb 02, 2008 10:56 am

"There is no help you can provide earth mother, I walk like this because I can, because I must, if I were not to where would they go the souls of the starving? Who would they speak to?" The great skull like head shook solomnly. "I will pay my pennance for eternity mistress of the womb. I do not regret it and I do not deny the pain I must receive for the sake of those suffering." He once again went still then a real corpse un breathing still and death like as she stroked aginst his cheek, he did not want sympathy or help, he did what he did for that was what he was here for to see those starving through their time in his rhealm until they passed in to life or fell in to deaths loving embrace.

"Perhaps mistress you should seek one amongst the immortal rhealm to quell your unhappiness?" the god of famine did not wish to seem ungreateful for her sympathy and the centuries he had lived left him with some knowlege of the heart even if his own no longer truely beat. "Not that I am offering." A laugh then a strange eerie scrreching sound which echoed on her ears though it sounded rather amused. "There are many gods in the world little mother to lock your heart with this one will bring you nout but sadness and suffering." Concern whispered in his voice. There were few whom Jaddis could sit before and not simply gain a cringe or a glare from, this goddess had once scorned him and cat called him for what he was but now she had listened and his heart went out to her.

She smiled coolly, thinking how it must be so hard to chose his life, and how she could never do it with her selfishness. She thought of what to say and was taken aback by his last few statements, find another immortal? It had never occurred to her to do so, she had always had her mortal brood.

"Haha, Dear Jaddis, you are close to my heart, but not in that way. I wish.." she paused not sure how to go on, "May I leave you with something? A feather, a gem so that I know that a small piece of me will be with one so selfless?" She thought of how she could create a gem, one a special color just for him.

How she wanted to ask more of his domain, could he starve someone? Could he take away the pain of starvation? Was he gifted in many ways or simply a martyr?

Jaddis looked at the goddess for a long quiet moment his coal grey eyes looking almost like they were thinking, taking in what she wanted to give to him. The head nodded slowly as the voice echoed in to her ears. "I would gladdly take a gift though I can give you nothing in return earth mother." His head lolled in a sort of shakey bow before his head lifted once again and he looked silently upon the jewel encrusted femme.

He let out a slow dying breath as those lips turned in a smile. "I see questions in your eyes Boma," His voice whispered before he continued his body still once again. "Yes I can cause a starvation, in single beings, but I have no need to, mortals cause their own starvation by over breeding and bleeding the land dry. A famine comes to strike the earth and regenerate it so that life may return." He paused his lips returning to their solemn possition though they now bled slowly the deep red blood rolling down his chin.

Taking in a slow ratteling breath which was interrupted mid step as the age old god remembered that the goddess did not need to hear his death rattling sighs. "I travel the world in this ragged body to the places where starvation is rampant and as I pass they know I am there and I feel their pain because that is my pennance. I suffer with them when I move through the famine lands my mind rejoined to the body you see before you. It is my place to watch over them until they pass in to deaths welcoming arms or pass in to anothers rhealm, one of life. I do not hate my life mother of the womb, for without my domain the lands would not recover and the lands which have been stripped by the foolish would never recover. Famine, starvation is but a sign that the world needs to rest and so I go and listen to their cries, I speak to them and comfort them as I can until they choose their own paths."

A long silent moment fell then, trying to explain to anyone what he did in the world was a difficult task and he almost felt drained. he had never truly sat and spoken of what he did in the world, noone had ever asked after all, they preferred to scorn and turn away and fear.

Boma'burudi nearly shivered visibly as he took another eerie breath in, it was painful to watch let alone to actually do. She listened to his monologue imagining the world that he described, she had been under the world for quite sometime and did not know that this world was in need of such help. She had never seen someone starving, maybe someone who could not hunt but never someone who starved like he did. She watched him in awe at things he must have seen in his life time.

"I cannot imagine," she murmured looking at him with wonder in her eyes, "But it is good to finally know what you do what your domain is. My domain is often misunderstood, but for other reasons. I do not rule the earth, I rule what is found beneath the earth. Every metal in this world is made out of me, every gem, every mineral. I am the Goddess of the Earth's Womb, but really I am the Goddess of Minerals."

She shook her wings splaying them out happy to know that he would accept a gift from her. Propping her self up she reached behind her and snagged a golden feather, one that did not contain a jewel and waited to see if he would accept it, where would he keep it? He had a necklace, she could possibly attach it to that for him. They were made of metal, and would be quite sharp to the touch.

Looking at the feather his ragged head gave a gentle nod and he tilted his head to the left, an ear flickering "tie it here for me earth mother so that I will not lose it." His pale lips twitched in a half smile though this was of course difficult to do with his lips tied so tightly with an unknown material. They seeped blood but he did not seem to notice.

"I will keep it close earth mother." His voice whispers to her ears an almost gentle sigh compared to his usual eerie tones. The body waits eerile still for her to attach the feather in to his mane.

Looking at her for a moment the ragged god watched her pudgy child bareing body and he thought deeply of what he could do for her and her cub. His powers could only do so much. "I can grant you something Boma though it is not something that I have ever granted before and perhaps it will be useless to your child." His voice paused for a moment. Letting out a breath a strange dust rolled out from between his lungs it circled Boma for a moment before it vanished in to nothingnes. "It is not much earth mother but your child will never starve."

She smiled and her skin prickled beneath her fur at hearing his more soothing voice, he was not as bad as he seemed, this is one case of not judging a book by its cover. She put the golden feather in her mouth for a moment and stepped forward at his instructions. Stopped, took the feather from her mouth, and started to fiddle with his mane.

Once she secured it to her liking, which took a few minutes she stepped back absorbing his words. Her two toned eyes rose to meet his dull lifeless ones and tears welled in the corners of her eyes, "That is the greatest gift you can give me, being a mortal..he has so much to fight..and.." she choked up the tears started to well. She stood quite close to him holding back complete heaving sobs, one less thing to worry about out of hundreds.

"I wish I could offer you more," she whispered between a hitching sob, "I.." she closed her mouth.
