For your listening pleasure.

Calm and sometimes cold. He may seem aloof and distant but once he warms up to you he's kind and compassionate.

From Deo_Baka (via msn): I get the feeling that he deals with being alone, but would rather be with people who love him, or find his other half.

Yep, that's him alright.

Okay. I'm doing this the lazy way and just copying and pasting what I wrote down on the one hundred question character development thing. I worked on it for hours even though I already had a pretty clear idea of who I wanted him to be. @.@;;

User ImagePart 1: The Basics User Image

1. What is your full name?
Pierce Deacon Cavanaugh

2. Where and when were you born?
May 30, 1981 in Dingle, Ireland. (27 years old)

3. Who are/were your parents? (Know their names, occupations, personalities, etc.)
Mother: Tierney Cavanaugh, 57, housewife/ mother, patient/warm/a dreamer/smart/ tricky.
Father: Rory Cavanaugh, 59, carpenter, determined/faithful/mischievous/ funny/caring.

4. Do you have any siblings? What are/were they like?
One older sister named Carmen Donovan, 30, married with two kids.
Personality: Very caring, lively, outgoing, stubborn, dreamer, loyal.

5. Where do you live now, and with whom? Describe the place and the person/people.
An average apartment in Dingle proper with an old college buddy named Jasper Owens. Two bedroom, one bath, medium sized kitchen/ living area. A couple of really nice windows looking out over the street. Can be a bit drafty in winter. Two story building with four full apartments.

6. What is your occupation?
An architect focusing mainly in historic preservation. I occasionally make models for the local historical society.

7. Write a full physical description of yourself. You might want to consider factors such as: height, weight, race, hair and eye color, style of dress, and any tattoos, scars, or distinguishing marks.
Height: 6’4”
Weight: 172 lbs. (Average build, slight muscle definition from work.)
Race: Irish/English
Hair: Golden reddish blonde. Long, usually pulled back into a ponytail to keep it out of my face. (I don't really fuss over how good I look. As long as I'm clean and relatively presentable then I'm grand.)
Eyes: Light Gray
Clothing: Comfy, easy to move in. Layered in cooler weather. Colors in neutrals, grays, tans, white, black, natural tones.
Tattoos/scars/distinguishing marks: Small scar on my chin from when I was little. I got it when I was around five and a half. I had the habit of climbing on furniture, bookcases, dressers, counters, cabinets, etc. Some family was visiting and I had gone off alone to check out the new dresser that they had brought for me as an early Christmas gift. I wanted to see what my room looked like from the top. I started to climb but it was empty and it couldn’t support my weight on one side. It toppled down on top of my and I busted my chin. My parents and relatives came in and helped me up. They comforted me and took me into the kitchen to take care of my chin while the fallen dresser was righted.

8. To which social class do you belong?
Middle class, I guess. I get along okay.

9. Do you have any allergies, diseases, or other physical weaknesses?
No diseases. Allergic to penicillin. Left wrist was broken during my senior year in high school. Whenever the weather gets really wonky, it aches. By wonky, I mean rainy, snowy, windy, cloudy, cool, all crammed into one period in a day. Let me tell you, winter isn't one of my favorite seasons for this reason.

10. Are you right- or left-handed?
Oh, I'm left-handed. One of the only ones in my family too.

11. What does your voice sound like?
It’s not terribly deep or anything. Smooth, accented.

12. What words and/or phrases do you use very frequently?
Fancy that. / Huh. I see. / I can handle that. / What!

13. What do you have in your pockets?
A pen, a tiny notepad, a handkerchief, my keys, a peppermint or two.

14. Do you have any quirks, strange mannerisms, annoying habits, or other defining characteristics?
I talk to myself out loud sometimes when I’m really thinking something over. My roommate hates the fact that I frequently put my feet on the furniture, be it couch, chairs, or the coffee table. I alphabetize the little bookcase in my room by title and series.

Part 2: Growing Up

15. How would you describe your childhood in general?
Enjoyable, a tad difficult socially, easy, loving. Life’s pretty simple growing up in a small village. I grew up in Ventry, situated four miles west of Dingle.

16. What is your earliest memory?
Spending time with my first pet, a cat named Jenny. I found her on my exploring. I was just about to turn five. I was outback a ways from my house, checking out the brush. She was just a tiny thing. It had been sprinkling on and off all day. I picked her up and tucked her into my coat and took her home. Dad was working on a chest for a friend of the family’s daughter. She was getting married in a few weeks and he wanted to give her something unique. Mom was home alone with Carmen. It was fairly easy to butter them up. Mom said it was okay, but that we still had to ask my father. That evening he came home and the kitten was sitting curled up in a little purring ball on Mom’s lap. She smiled up at him and asked him if we could keep her. He groused and fussed for a bit, but Mom knew better than anyone how to butter up my dad. She picked up the kitten and strolled over to him. She sat him down on the couch and asked again. With a purring kitten in one arm and his wife at the other, he cracked. My dad’s a softie, he is.

17. How much schooling have you had?
I graduated top half of my senior class in high school. Then I graduated university with a double major in Architecture and History.

18. Did you enjoy school?
Oh yes, very much so. I always fancied myself the teacher's pet. I usually was. -laughs-

19. Where did you learn most of your skills and other abilities?
School and from my family, friends, and my own ingenuity.

20. While growing up, did you have any role models? If so, describe them.
None that really stood out. I mean, besides my parents. My father always worked hard and had a good time doing what he did. He made growing up an adventure. My mother always smiled. She had wonderful stories to tell and kept his mind open to the wonders of the world, natural and preternatural.

21. While growing up, how did you get along with the other members of your family?
I got along with both of my parents well. Every so often my dad and I would butt heads over something or other, but it would clear up fairly soon after. My sister and I got along wonderfully. I looked up to her and we’d go exploring around the village when we were younger. She hit puberty and gradually pulled away from her, as she then dubbed me, “her dweebish little brother.”

22. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
An archaeologist or a deep sea diver. I suppose there were a few weeks when I wanted to be a cowboy or a pirate or an astronaut or something, but they just seem a bit overplayed, no?

23. As a child, what were your favorite activities?
Climbing on things, checking out the goings on around the village.

24. As a child, what kinds of personality traits did you display?
I wasn’t an especially outgoing kid. I was a know-it-all during my elementary school days, so not many found me tolerable. I took particular joy from answering a question first or being able to answer a question that others found to be difficult. I'd rattle off little factoids to see if I could surprise people with how smart I was. (Huh, I was a bit vain back in the day, I guess.) I liked walking home from school and looking at the old houses and buildings of the village. I’d image all the different ghosts and beasts that their walls hid from view.
So, standoffish, imaginative, overly self-confident, clever, a bit full of myself.

25. As a child, were you popular? Who were your friends, and what were they like?
I wasn’t terribly popular. I had a few very good friends. Few really lasted throughout the transition through high school to college. One or two still keep in touch with me. Great lads.

26. When and with whom was your first kiss?
Besides from my family? Hmm, I believe it was my sophomore year of high school. There was one of those random school dances coming up soon and some of my friends convinced me into asking a girl to go. She was a junior and a few inches taller than me. Her name was Kasey Malone. She accepted, which blew me out of the water. That Friday evening, we met at the dance. She hung around for about half an hour before she turned to me and said she was having a wonderful time. She gave me a kiss and smiled. She told me that she was going to see her friends. I didn’t see her for the rest of the dance. I heard from one of my buddies that she had indeed met her friends, but attached herself to the arm of one of the senior guys in the ROTC. Made me feel like a million bucks, lemme tell you.

27. Are you a virgin? If not, when and with whom did you lose your virginity?
Nope. I was twenty when I lost my virginity. It was with my (first true) girlfriend named Autumn Quinn during our junior year. She was a gorgeous, free spirited art major with bright green eyes and curly chestnut hair. Oh, she was a beauty for certain. She was so charming and fun. She was the one who introduced me to sushi and kareoke, but I never really took to the latter. A bit too public for my liking. If I were absolutely sloshed, then yeah, it may be fun.

28. If you are a supernatural being (i.e. mage, werewolf, vampire), tell the story of how you became what you are or first learned of your own abilities. If you are just a normal human, describe any influences in your past that led you to do the things you do today.
My mom would tell me all sorts of stories, fairytales, and folklore from the region. She always told me that I could do whatever I could set my mind too. My father always told me grand tales of the old structures of the peninsula (The Dingle Peninsula. Fancy that.)
My family lit my imagination and started my love for the field I’ve pursued. I love it!

Part 3: Past Influences

29. What do you consider the most important event of your life so far?
Definitely switching my major from Biology to Architecture. History started as a minor but I picked that up too.

30. Who has had the most influence on you?
My parents. I’m a home-body.

31. What do you consider your greatest achievement?
Getting my license and being able to go around the peninsula seeing the amazing monuments left by our predecessors, like the Gallarus Oratory or numerous castles and manors.

32. What is your greatest regret?
I don’t have any regrets. I promised myself at my graduation that I would live and die with no regrets. Although…I would like to have gone to visit Rome during my junior year. It was optional for my courses. I elected to stay close to home. Or maybe I should've said yes to Autumn at graduation. o__o -bummed out now-

33. What is the most evil thing you have ever done?
I am not at liberty to say. >> -cough- Slashed a teacher's tires for giving me a poor grade on a test. -cough- What?! I studied long and hard for that test! I deserved more than a C. At least a B+, I should think. Came out of that class with straight A's. Showed him. Hmph. -crosses arms over chest-

34. Do you have a criminal record of any kind?
No. At least none that really come to mind. Of course, there was that one thing with trespassing, but I got that all settled out with the owners of the property. ^^;

35. When was the time you were the most frightened?
When I was nine and Carmen was twelve, we had a big shaggy dog named Kree. We were playing in the front yard and Kree saw a squirrel across the street. She chased after it and a car had just turned onto our street. It hit her and I felt like the air was knocked from me. Carmen started to scream and cry out for our parents. I watched the car speed off before slowly walking towards the roadside. I felt like my heart was in a vice. Kree had slept at the foot of my bed since she was a puppy. I could hear her whining and Dad came rushing out past me. Mom was next to Carmen back by the house. Dad picked up Kree and took her to the car. I could see that his shoulders were shaking. He yelled that he was rushing her to the vet and told Mom to call ahead and tell them that he was coming, that it was an emergency. I could feel my hands shaking. Carmen and I filed into the house and picked at the lunch Mom had prepared.
Several hours later we got a call from Dad at the vet’s office. Kree was going to be okay. She was beat up a little and had a broken back leg. I could feel the weight of worry lift off of my shoulders at the news.

36. What is the most embarrassing thing ever to happen to you?
Pretty much 45% of my time during my 8th grade year. That year was just awful. Awkward and stressful. Girls developing crushes, boys starting to fight over girls, sport, gym. -sighs- It was such a mess.

37. If you could change one thing from your past, what would it be, and why?
I would have loved to go to Rome in college, but it was shortly after I had become official with Autumn and I didn’t want to test such a new relationship with a distance like that. It was feeling nice. I didn't want to sever that so soon.

38. What is your best memory?
Visiting my cousin over in St. John’s Bay, Canada. They’re a fun bunch that we hardly ever get to see. It's always a blast! They're so weird too! I have an aunt over there that wears underwear on her head while she cooks in lieu of a hairnet and whenever we visit we're paired off with someone our own age. It's crazy!

39. What is your worst memory?
When I was eighteen, Jenny had to be put down. She had cancer. Injection Site Lymphoma. Oh, that was the only time to have ever seen my father cry. I was a mess. I wanted to have stood right by her as she slipped away. But I just sat in a chair that was in the corner of the room and cried. I couldn’t move. I wanted to, but I just sat there, so broken up. I couldn’t bear to touch her. She cried out when the vet administered the shot. I could feel myself choking on my grief. I could hardly swallow. I had wanted to stand by her side and pet her and sing her into the hands of the angels, but I just sat there. Just so broken up. Disappointed and angry with myself.

Part 4: Beliefs And Opinions

40. Are you basically optimistic or pessimistic?
Generally, I’m optimistic. For the most part. I'd like to think so. >>;;

41. What is your greatest fear?
Super coasters and becoming extremely sick and death.

42. What are your religious views?
I’m currently having a crisis of faith. My father was Catholic. I believe my mother was more spiritual than anything. She went to mass and everything, but she kinda did her own thing. So I was brought up with a well balanced mix of Catholicism and a blend of other things.

43. What are your political views?
I’m not a very political person. I vote when there is a vote, but I don’t really follow it all.

44. What are your views on sex?
It should be saved to have it with someone you love. Casual sex with just any ol’ person is just incredibly unsavory and unclassy.

45. Are you able to kill? Under what circumstances do you find killing to be acceptable or unacceptable?
I suppose I am able to kill. I mean if someone were threatening my loved ones then, yeah, I am capable of killing.

46. In your opinion, what is the most evil thing any human being could do?
Parents killing their children. Senseless slaughter of animals for any reason other than food. Vandalizing old buildings.

47. Do you believe in the existence of soul mates and/or true love?
Yes. I believe that there is a person out there for everyone. Why not?

48. What do you believe makes a successful life?
Being happy with what you do and while do it. Having no regrets.

49. How honest are you about your thoughts and feelings (i.e. do you hide your true self from others, and in what way)?
Oh, I rarely, if ever, talk about my personal thoughts and feelings to others. I have a bit of a phobia about them spilling all of my personal life out for the world to pick up on.

50. Do you have any biases or prejudices?
No. I don’t believe so.

51. Is there anything you absolutely refuse to do under any circumstances? Why do you refuse to do it?
Kill an animal. They haven’t done anything to me. Willingly destroy a piece of history. That just goes against everything that I learned.

52. Who or what, if anything, would you die for (or otherwise go to extremes for)?
My family, my super close friends. Things I feel that are worth protecting.

Part 5: Relationships With Others

53. In general, how do you treat others (politely, rudely, by keeping them at a distance, etc.)? Does your treatment of them change depending on how well you know them, and if so, how?

Initially, I keep folks at a distance until I get to know them, which may take some time, so I may come off of reserved and almost icy. If I never take to you, don’t expect me to warm up and be falsely friendly. If I get to know you and like you, then yeah, I’ll open up some. I have known you for quite a while, then I’ll feel more comfortable about discussing my personal things with you and you’d be able to see the true me. I’m a decent guy, just cautious.

54. Who is the most important person in your life, and why?
Currently, me. I don’t have a wife or girlfriend or significant other to worry about. I have no pets to care for. My friends are great and all but they take care of themselves without too much work from me. I’m trying to find my way in life. I love my job, but I’m still not satisfied. I wanna get myself situated before I invite someone to be nestled so close to my heart. Is that narcissistic of me?

55. Who is the person you respect the most, and why?
My mom for putting up with my dad. They were completely different but can’t seem to get enough of each other. My dad is straight-laced and very set in with his ways. Mom, well, is a bit out there and does things when she feels they should be done.

56. Who are your friends? Do you have a best friend? Describe these people.
Jasper, Mick, and John are my good friends. Well, I’d consider Jasper my best friend. He knows just about everything my family knows about me.
Jasper has light brown hair that he dyes frequently. He’s very outgoing and street smart, whereas I’m reserved and book smart. We balance each other out well. He jokes that I’m his brother from another mother. He’s funny.
Mick and John are both good friends of mine. I work with Mick on occasion as he pursued Architecture as a major too. He’s smart, well travelled, and extremely self confident.
John was in my graduating class in high school. He owns a restaurant nearby the apartment. He is very money savvy and knows how to get things done. He lives by the philosophy of “Live hard, play hard.”
Great lads, all of ‘em.

57. Do you have a spouse or significant other? If so, describe this person.
No.

58. Have you ever been in love? If so, describe what happened.
Yes. I loved Autumn, the girl I lost my virginity to. We were together for two years. At our commencement ceremony, she approached me as asked if I wanted to move with her to North America. I told her honestly that though I loved her, I wasn’t interested in living in the states. She told me that though she loved me, she would go without me and that she wasn’t interested in a long distance relationship. She gave me a kiss then went off to celebrate with her family. It was definitely a bitter note on that happy day. I never saw her again. I wonder on occasion on how she’s doing.

59. What do you look for in a potential lover?
I like a person with a warm personality and a good sense of humor. I’d like someone who could effortlessly pick past my social barriers and get straight to me. Someone who will take my breath away and leave my head reeling. Or someone who could come in under the radar and take me by surprise. That’d be nice too.

60. How close are you to your family?
I’ve pretty close with my immediate family. I’ve not called or visited lately though. I’ve been so busy.

61. Have you started your own family? If so, describe them. If not, do you want to? Why or why not?
No. I’ve not started a family yet. I’m not very lucky in the romance department. I wouldn’t mind starting a family.

62. Who would you turn to if you were in desperate need of help?
Besides myself? My family. Their my blood. I trust them entirely.

63. Do you trust anyone to protect you? Who, and why?
My family, because they love me.

64. If you died or went missing, who would miss you?
My kin, my friends, my work, the people that I could've met and the places I could've visited. (Eh, a whole lot of shoulda, coulda, woulda, type feeling on that one.)

65. Who is the person you despise the most, and why?
A man by the name of Richard Donahue. He made my early college years a living nightmare. He was a sophomore when I entered univeristy and he lived in my dorm hall. He'd go out of his way to bother me and on more than one occasion, he stole my laundry, clean or dirty, it didn't matter to him, and strew it about the lawn in front of our dorm hall. I swear if I ever see him again I swear I'll...I'll...-grumbles incoherantly-

66. Do you tend to argue with people, or avoid conflict?
I avoid conflict if I can. If conflict comes looking for me though, then I'll give it hell. If I can work my way around it though, I'm usually a happy camper.

67. Do you tend to take on leadership roles in social situations?
Er, for the most part, yeah. I generally assume the role of second in command or the therapist. My friends and acquaintances come to me to tell their problems and seek advice. I do what I can for them. I don’t mind taking the bull by the horns. I don’t mind working hard.

68. Do you like interacting with large groups of people? Why or why not?
Not especially. I dislike the press of large crowds. The summer after my junior year my family went on a vacation to visit America. We visited Boston and Salem. It was fun. Boston was iffy at one point. We were just exploring and we stumbled upon a massive outdoor farmer’s market. The walkways were crowded and there was so much yelling and being brushed on by strangers.

69. Do you care what others think of you?
Not really. If they make a big deal about any issue with me, that’s their prerogative. If they take it up with me, then either I listen to what they have to say and talk it over, or I get scary, meaning I become harsh, my language could make a sailor, and generally carry on in a vicious manner. It all depends on how they approach. If they approach looking for a fight, then who am I to deny that, but I would prefer to think things through and manage the situation in a collected manner.

Part 6: Likes And Dislikes

70. What is/are your favorite hobbies and pastimes?
Hiking, writing, reading, playing PC games.

71. What is your most treasured possession?
A shard of glass that I found on one of my on location jobs. It’s brightly colored in bright blue, yellow, and red. It had my three initials, PDC, on it. I had the edges smoothed and had it made into a necklace that I wear under my shirt. I only take it off when I wash myself, but then it goes right back on.

72. What is your favorite color?
Tie between white, green, and gray.

73. What is your favorite food?
Unagi (eel sushi), Sesame Chicken, all sorts of seafood, veggies of all kinds.

74. What, if anything, do you like to read?
Fiction-Mystery,Sci-fi, Fantasy, Drama, etc.

75. What is your idea of good entertainment (consider music, movies, art, etc.)?
Thriller movies, horror movies, almost any sort of music, all sorts of art.

76. Do you smoke, drink, or use drugs? If so, why? Do you want to quit?
No. Smoking, drinking, and drugs make you sick and stink. I do not want that to happen to me.

77. How do you spend a typical Saturday night?
Lounging about the apartment, hanging out with Jasper either in our apartment or about town, or if I'm backed up or have piles of work to do, I stay in and work.

78. What makes you laugh?
Monty Python, Gabriel Iglesias, Dane Cook, Ardal O'Hanlon, and several other things.

79. What, if anything, shocks or offends you?
I don’t know. It takes a lot to offend me.

80. What would you do if you had insomnia and had to find something to do to amuse yourself?
I do have insomnia. Fairly regularly, too. I had it particularly badly when I was a teenager. I’d not get tired until four in the morning and drift off to sleep around then. It's not fun.

81. How do you deal with stress?
Listen to music, visit home, go somewhere quiet, or watch cartoons.

82. Are you spontaneous, or do you always need to have a plan?
I’m a pretty even mix of both. I like having a plan for back up, but I generally take things as they come and work with it.

83. What are your pet peeves?
People chewing on their nails, crunching on ice, and aggressive drivers. Oh! And snoring.
PostPosted: Fri Feb 01, 2008 12:41 am

Part 7: Self Images And Etc.

84. Describe the routine of a normal day for you. How do you feel when this routine is disrupted?
Wake up, shower, dress, breakfast, research, go out to locations, lunch, more work (some official, some not), early dinner, take it easy until I get tired, then go to bed.

85. What is your greatest strength as a person?
I’m determined and protective over those that I care for or am in charge of.

86. What is your greatest weakness?
I’m socially awkward, when I’m focusing entirely on work I shut myself off from people until my task is complete, and I’m stubborn and have been known to be a little impulsive from time to time.

87. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
My awkwardness towards women and my inability to speak freely and openly in informal situations. I always start second guessing myself in stressful situations. Let me tell you, getting my driver's license was a pain. Driving around and the panicky part of my brain kept screaming out, 'Oh, you're gonna mess up and fail!' Not fun. Failed the first time, but got it on my second attempt.

88. Are you generally introverted or extroverted?
Introverted. I don’t go out of my way to speak with someone. If they approach me or if I'm interested in meeting them or if it's for a job or something, then I will speak to them.

89. Are you generally organized or messy?
I’m pretty organized. I know where all my stuff is but I’m not obsessive compulsive or anything.

90. Name three things you consider yourself to be very good at, and three things you consider yourself to be very bad at.
Good: Writing, my job, PC games.
Bad: Dealing with people in an informal situation, handiwork, introducing myself to women.

91. Do you like yourself?
Yeah. Why shouldn’t I? I’m a decent sort!

92. What are your reasons for being an adventurer (or doing the strange and heroic things that RPG characters do)? Are your real reasons for doing this different than the ones you tell people in public? (If so, detail both sets of reasons...)
Curiosity is what takes me adventuring. I want to know what I can find. What can I learn from it? I wanna get all I can out of life and I don’t plan on missing a thing...Or much., at least.

93. What goal do you most want to accomplish in your lifetime?
See Rome, the Easter Island heads, Notre Dame. Find myself a nice gal to settle down with, have a kid or two, and have a great old house. Yeah, that'd be great.

94. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Traveling all over the world! Or devoting myself to a big project and finish it.

95. If you could choose, how would you want to die?
Either easy, old, and in my sleep, warm in my bed, or doing what I love, like Steve Irwin! Save for the stingray to the chest, of course. That part just wouldn't be nice. Granted, I don't really come into contact with stingrays so the only things I have to really worry about are poisonous spiders, collapsing buildings, and illness.

96.If you knew you were going to die in 24 hours, name three things you would do in the time you had left.
Go sailing, sleep with the most beautiful woman I can find, then visit the Oratory again. That seems like a good list of things to do. Or I could switch one of the first two things with drinking myself out would be fine too. Drinking seems like a good thing to do when your dying. You don't have to worry about the long term effects that it has on your liver and brain!

97. What is the one thing for which you would most like to be remembered after your death?
I want to be remembered as a devoted friend, son, brother, boss, and employee.

98. What three words best describe your personality?
Devoted, tactful, inquisitive.

99. What three words would others probably use to describe you?
Quiet, distant, moody?

100. If you could, what advice would you, the player, give to your character? (You might even want to speak as if he or she were sitting right here in front of you, and use proper tone so he or she might heed your advice...)
I would say, “Pierce, don’t take life for granted. Don’t be afraid to go out and try something new. Go on and talk to that pretty, mysterious lady at the end of the bar. Offer her a drink. See where that takes you...and if you find out she's a prostitute, run.”

One possible creature that I imagine that he could be is a gargoyle. Sure, it'd be weird for a while, but it seems the sort of creature that he'd embrace wholly with time. It fits his personality and lifestyle. (What am I, selling cars? XD;; )

Any suggestions or thoughts? I'm open for opinions.

~Pierce as a gargoyle~
In his mundane life, he often becomes simply enraptured with his work on old buildings and other such similar projects. He hates to see them go uncared for or worse, see them vandilized and mistreated. If he had the funds he'd buy the buildings or plot they are on to try to offer them the best protection he could manage. If he were to become a gargoyle, he'd likely embrace his fairly solitary lifestyle with open arms as he'd finally be able to protect his precious pieces of history with the kind of care he thinks the rightly deserve.

Although he is fairly solitary, he loves the family dynamic. He may seek to find a family of his own or to start a clan of sorts. If he isn't able to do this, he may take to a dog or cat as a pet and companion. Afterall, how often does one see a sole gargoyle keeping watch over any one building?

Pierce's Pukka

Quote:
A shard of glass that he found on one of his on location jobs. It’s brightly colored in bright blue, yellow, and red. It had his three initials, PDC, on it in black. He had the edges smoothed and had it made into a necklace that he wears under his shirt. He only takes it off when he washes himself, but then it goes right back on.

Pierce was a part of a resortation team working on a several centuries old stone church and he was working off on his own when the piece of glass that would soon become one of his favorite things came into his possession. He was sitting down on one of the many stones that had fallen from their original places in the support arches. His tool kit was unrolled at his left side and he was picking the moss and grime away from some phasing carved into one of the many stone windowsills. The windows themselves were empty, no trace of the stained or regular glass that had once filled them. Any remnants of the original glasswork had either been ground into powder with time and the elements, lost into the earth around the church, or carried off by passersby as a momento from their visit to the historical building.

Pierce was just about finished with uncovering the phasing when a 'c***k' off to left. He blinked his eyes and rubbed them. He had been focusing so intently on the task that he hadn't blinked in a bit. His eyes had become dry from his staring. He looked around behind him, none of the other team members were working in the area that he was. Most were up front where the remnants of a stone alter and cross stood. He was in the back corner. With a sigh and a shake of his head, Pierce turned to get back to work, but something caught his eye. A tiny reflection of light shone up at him. He looked down at his tool kit and sitting on top of one of his brushes and picks sat a dirty piece of glass.

Pierce furrowed his brows as he picked it up. There wasn't any of the original glass left of this building, or at least none visible on the insides or around the interior stone and earth floor. He put down the pick that he was working with and wiped the thin layer of slightly damp soil off of the glass. He was surprised at its colors, vivid primary jewel tones. Ruby red, sapphire blue, and golden yellow. What really got his attention was the three black letters enscribed into the glass: PDC. His initials.

"Huh," he muttered to himself as he turned the glass over and over in his hands. Pierce again cast a glance around at the other members of the team. They were all still busy doing their own tasks around the aged church. He looked down at the piece of glass that lay flat in the palm of his hand. "Where are you from," he asked vaguely to nothing in particular. "Hm. Well, I don't think this should just be left to the elements...You need a better home than a drawer in some musty back room." He pulled his handkerchief out of his pants pocket and carefully wrapped the shard up. Its edges were rugged and sharp. He didn't want to get cut or anything while working. If he were doing as he was supposed to he was supposed to have it catalouged and stored for further examination and possible testing.

For some reason though, Pierce felt the need to keep it close. At least until he figured out where it came from, how it ended up 'chinking' down amoungst his tool kit, and why it has his initials in the glass. Was it all coincidence? He would find out in time.

~Elements and Concept Art~

Elements:

Time: Very much a thinker. If in trouble, he'll do his best to think his way out of the situation instead of having to resort to violence or verbal fighting. He strives to understand the things around him, be it customs or people. He really enjoys the occasional puzzle on rainy days.

Shadow: He is a bit stand off-ish and is very deep of thought. In the rare event he gives in to one of his friends to go out to a club or a bar, he, as in most in formal situations, clams up and lets his mind carry him off. Pierce isn't a dark character, but his initial wariness of new people and his sort of poor social skills, often turns people off if they aren't willing to stick it out until he warms up to them.

Earth: For those close to his heart, he is very protective and supportive of his friends and family. If they were ever to need him for something, he'd be there until satisfied that everything is righted. As mentioned earlier, Pierce has a soft spot for families, so if a kid were to become separated from his/her parents, he'd stick with the wayward young'un until he or she is reunited with their parents.
