These are the available species in Worldwide Darkness. If you know of another variety that has a mythological background not based on influences from modern media or Bram Stoker, feel free to ask me to add it. Keep in mind that most of these would be from the area whose mythology they come from.
Vampires
adze. Comes from: Africa/Ghana/Togo. Can take the form of: A firefly. Has an affinity for: Handsome children, blood, palm oil, coconut water.
asanbosam. Comes from: Africa/Ghana/Togo. Notable features: Teeth of iron, feet are hooklike. Found in: Forests.
aswang. Comes from: Phillippines. Can take the form of: A beautiful woman by day, a flying creature by night.--which cries 'kikik' or 'kakak' as it flies. Notable features: Has a long thin tongue for drinking blood which it inserts through the roof of a home, looks pregnant after feasting. Has an affinity for: Children.
bajang. Comes from: Malaysia. Can take the form of: A pole cat. Created from: The body of a stillborn child. Notable features: Male, can be enslaved as a family servant. Has an affinity for: Threatening children, and is to be fed eggs and milk if held captive.
bhuta. Comes from: India. Created from: Death by accident, violence, execution, suicide.
danag. Comes from: Philippines. Notable features: Used to work with humans, but one day a woman cut her finger, and a danag drank her dry--and the peace was lost, the danag gaining an insatiable bloodlust. In those times, they planted and tended taro.
estrie. Comes from: Hebrew mythology. Notable features: Female, incorporeal spirit of evil, if seen they must eat of that person's food or lose their power, putting dirt in their mouths while in the grave stops them, becomes demonic when flying at night. Has an affinity for: Flesh and blood.
impundulu. Comes from: The Cape, Africa. Notable features: Male, used as a witches familiar and passed down from mother to daughter, is the lover of whomever they are the familiar of, must be sent to feed--will not go on their own. Has an affinity for: Humans, cattle.
kukudhi. Comes from: Albania. Notable features: Is the final stage in development for a vampire, can live at home during day and has no need to return to their coffin--this means that they can travel easily.
langsuir. Comes from: Malaysia. Notable features: A beautiful woman who died in childbirth or had a stillborn child, has hair to her ankles which hides a hole in the back of her neck that acts as a mouth, long nails, can fly, and can become human again--but can never dance again, lest she return to her langsuir form and be lost forever. Has an affinity for: Children, fish.
leanshaum-shee. Comes from: Ireland. Notable features: Beautiful woman, enchants men and then drains their life.
lugat. Comes from: Albania. Notable features: Can be stopped by hamstringing, burning, or attacking with wolves.
masani. Comes from: India. Notable features: A woman who is black as soot. Created from: The ashes of funeral pyre.
nelapsi. Comes from: Czechoslovakia. Notable Features: Vicious, slaughters villages and can kill with a glimpse, has two curls in hair.
rakshashi. Comes from: India. Notable Features: Woman, shape-shifter, lives in trees.
strigoii. (female: strigoica.) Comes from: Romania. Created from: Suicide, witchcraft, criminal, perjury, death by vampire, died unmarried with unrequited love, seventh son, born with caul, a cat jumped over their corpse, if a vampire stared at them in the womb, by using the burial ropes from a grave. Notable features: Red hair. blue eyes, two hearts.

chordewa. oraons, bengal. soul turns to cat. eats food and licks lips of dying. peculiar ‘mew’. nearly uncatchable.
civatateo. aztecs, mexico. servants of moon deities. called ‘civapipiltin’—‘princess’ noblewoman died during childbirth. ride broomsticks. fond of crossroads. cause children to waste to death. covered in white chalk. crossbones on dress.
hannya. japan. woman who went insane and was possessed. feed on children. sometimes men. often hideous.
pisacha. india. died insane, criminal, adulterer, liar. help heal. eat corpses.
upir. ukrania. eats fish. noon to midnight.
upor. russian. shape-changer. ride horses. heart devourer.
