"La, laa, lee, looo!" Rokopelli hummed not so quietly as she descended the rocky slope that led from her and Koya's den. he was in full view, her wings arched up proudly, her wig jingling around her ears. However, that wouldn't last for long.

As she hopped to the ground she donned her disguise and once again became the rather plain mortal - plain except for the bracelets and necklace that gleamed against her dull, sandy fur.

"Where are we off to?" She chirped merrily to Nyoka, her snak familiar who was slithering up ahead.

"Someplace fun?" She ventured hesitantly. She couldn't remember the last time Nyoka had ever been 'fun' but maybe he'd change and decide that a game would be a good idea.

Sadly, that was not what Nyoka had in mind. He was going to take her away from the distracting pride and teach her all the skills in caring for baby snakes, ready for when his finally arrived.

"Ssshut up." He snapped, coldly, narrowing his eyes at her. His angry glare was soon replaced by one of terror as the bumbling "mortal" trampled right over him.

He hissed, writhed, lashed out and stopped himself just before his fangs sank deep. No, the poison wouldn't kill her but it would cause a lot of pain. As much as he hated the Goddess, biting her wasn't on his list of things to do. For one, she'd be whining about it for days and he couldn't handle that.

"Watch where you're going." He drawled, slithering to one side and following cautiously alongside her.

"Sorry!" She blurted meekly, trotting merrily, her tail waving behind her, bi-coloured eyes scanning the land.

She was, admittedly, curious about where Nyoka was taking her. It wasn't often that he chose to take some time to spend with her. In fact he was normally telling her to get out of the den and leave him alone.

She opened her mouth to reply, but was distracted by a bird skittering past her head and landing to peck at the sand. "Birdie!" She whooped and with her cubbish playfulness she bounded towards it, ears deaf to Nyoka's complaint.

Yes, Roko had the attention span of a cub.

A young tan male sat completely alone in a patch of vegetiation. He was carrying on a heated debate with what looked to be like nobody, getting louder and louder every second. He started glaring at the palm tree in front of him, which swayed and bent to the opposite direcion as if huffing. The youngster seemed to take even greater offense by this gesture. He pivoted on his hind leg and faced his back towards the tree, staring off into the vast nothing of the Dawn Walker borders.

Banda breathed hard as he glared into the blindingly bright sand dunes. He really liked talking to palm trees, but sometimes they were just so gosh darn stubborn! This one had claimed to be a rock. When he had corrected it, it got all angry and started insisting Banda was wrong. Of course, the young male hadn't seen everything in the world yet but he definitly knew the difference between a rock and a palm tree. Maybe he would've been better of helping his mama with babysitting today. That way he could've at least done something productive with his time. The faster he grew, the more urgent it seemed that he should be learning about carrying for little babies if he wanted to be a pride nanny when he was older. But no, he was here, arguing with a stubborn palm tree. Or rather, pointedly ignoring said tree. They were just big weeds, anyway. "You here that?! You're just a big ol' ugly WEED." He yelled it over his shoulder and snapped his attention back to the sands.

Rokopelli, ignoring Nyoka’s angry protesting, bounced forward, sending the bird twirling back up into the sky. She was almost tempted to go after it, that was until she remembered flying might give her away. With a small sigh she made a half-turn back to Nyoka, stopping at the loud exclamation somewhere close by.

“Did you hear that?” She chirped, turning her eyes questioningly back to the snake that had curled up in the sun and was watching her shrewdly.

Not seeming to care that he wasn’t responding, the juvenile turned back to try and locate the unfamiliar voice and headed off in the direction she thought she had heard it. Apparently her ears were rather trustworthy and after scrambling over a low rock pile she discovered the male sitting just six or seven metres away.

“Hullooo~” She sang joyfully, glad to see someone similar in size to herself, though he may have been just a little taller than her.

“Where’s the oogly weed?” She asked, stepping towards him, her bi-coloured eyes switching from his face to the surrounding area. “Want us to help you stomp it?” She giggled.

Banda jolted his neck stiffly in the direction of the sing songy voice, glaring as he did so. He wasn't mad at the newcomer, he was just still upset over his fight with the palm, and so he couldn't look very happy. The fact that he'd never seen this lioness before intrigued him, though, and his eyes and stance softened significantly. It wasn't often that he met someone he'd never seen at least a glance of before. Not only that, but she looked to be near his age! That was enough to get any youngster in this pride excited, since litters were currently a rarity. Hopefully that'd change when he was older or he'd have no dream job anymore. Plus, a pride with no babies didn't sound like a very happy place to be. There'd be no giggling or playing or warm smiles or family. That just didn't sound appealing to him.

"Hello." The young male stood up to great her, taking a step forward and swishing his tail. He threw a very quick glance of his shoulder when she mentioned weed. He hadn't expected anyone to hear his insult, and so wasn't ready to answer anything about it. "Weeell..." He looked around, trying to make up something more extravegant in the few seconds he had. It totally didn't work. "He's not really a weed. I'm just mad at him." He whispered it, not wanting the tree to over hear. "That palm tree behind me... Yeah, he's just a stubborn stupid-head." Stupid-head was the meanest insult Banda had in his vocabulary in his age and with his upbringing. He had to fight back a shudder as he said it, it was so bad. "I don't think we can crush him. We should just leave him here to be all alone."

She glanced to the tree curiously. Someone of a sound mind might have thought it weird, or cute depending on their perspective. But Rokopelli, who was about as kooky as they come, just giggled and crept closer.

"Really?" She whispered, suddenly aware that their conversation might be overhead by the 'weed'. "We never knew that trees had feelings!" She was curious, wanted to approach it, but decided against it.

"Do you live here?" She chirped, pulling both ears intently forward. "We just moved here with Mummy." She continued. "Oh and Nyoka. Nyoka is..." She glanced over her shoulder, suddenly remembering the serpent. "...Gone." Oh dear, was he mad with her now?

"Oh well, we'll introduce you later!" She continued merrily. "We're Roko and Pelli. Who yous?" She pounced in the dust, giggling as the clouds tickled her nose and made her sneeze.

"Aah-choo!"

Banda was pleased the female whispered. That way, the nasty palm tree wouldn't ovehear a conversation he wasn't a part of. It'd be just like him to do it, too, the juve thought with a huff. Really, though, he should stop focusing on the tree and start focusing on this tawny little girl. He liked that she was close to his color. He liked his color, in general. It fit in pretty well with the area, what with the sand and the trees and all. Tan and a splash of green, just in the right spot. Add in a yellow mane and tail tuft and you've got yourself a desert lion, all right. Although, honestly, Banda was more at home in an oasis than he was in a sand dune. "Pretty much everything as feelings." He threw it out casually, as if it were everyday knowledge. Banda talked to lots of things. Trees, rocks, water, coconuts... To him, they all had feelings, personalities and quirks that made them quite unique. Some of them he loved, some of them he had problems with. Like this one.

"Well, sorta. I don't live here, but I'm a Dawn Walker, born and raised." He puffed out his chest a little as he said it, obviously proud of his pridal heritage. "Who's your mum?"

It took a few seconds, but it slowly sunk in that this young lioness was using the pronoun 'we' and not 'I' or 'me'. Banda cocked a brow, but didn't say anything. He looked around her when she introduced herself, trying to find another figure to fit the pair of names. When he couldn't find a second body, he became extremely confused. Roko and Pelli, but one critter. How could that happen? Maybe she was referring to a rock or something. "I'm Banda bea - Er, Banda." He nodded firmly at the just Banda part. His family nickname was Banda bear, but he didn't mention it to many other pride members. It wasn't that he was embarassed about it, it was more that he wanted to keep it as a special nickname for good friends and family. Considering he'd just met Roko ... and Pelli, he didn't feel close enough to her to let her into the Banda bear circle just yet.

"Really?" She chirped. Her face was full of shock, but a good kind of shock. She smiled pleasantly and nodded in the way that someone would, just hearing a comment that made perfect sense. "We'll have to be more careful then. We wouldn't want to hurt any feelings accidently." Another glance was cast at the palm tree.

The wind tossled its leaves slightly.

"Dawnwalkers!" She parroted cheerfully. "We weren't born here but, this is our pride too." She replied. "Other Mummy left us here a long time ago and well...then we went to sleep and woke up and..." She trailed off. No, she probably shouldn't be telling this story. Realising quickly that it'd be best to change subjects, she moved the conversation onwards. "Then we met Mummy and we decided to stay for good." She beamed. "Our Mummy is Mummy Koya. Mummy Koya is the best!" She bounced.

"Banda! We like Banda." She bounced closer. "Banda, do you understand what the tree...says?" She was still curious about it. It sounded like a power, a mystical power. Maybe this Banda was a little God in disguise too!

Banda nodded matter-of-factly. "Yes. Then there are some that take everything offensively." Despite the juve's teddy bear nature, he just couldn't seem to let this one go. It was one of those little kid things that happened, getting stuck on a seemingly insignificant event. He wanted to add in another jab at the trees integrity, but managed to hold himself back. Though he was having issues with the 'weed', he held a great respect for all of the Dawn Walker territory's inhabitants, including the rocks and the trees and the sands.

The tan juve sat there listening to Roko/Pelli explain her (or their?) situation. He was getting confused quickly, but he nodded and smiled anyway, grasping what he could from what was said. What confused him most was that she mentioned going to sleep. It seemed like such an insignificant thing. Banda did it every night! Surely most living things did, right? It seemed so regular that it was hardly worth mentioning. So, the fact that Rokopelli had said something about it intrigued him.

"Thanks! I like you, too." He grinned. It wasn't often that he really made friends. Most the time, when he was meeting other lions around his age, he was with his mama who was babysitting. This was so different from his normal meeting-someone-new situations, it was exciting. "Mhmm, I sure do. My brother does, too. You probably could if you tried."

Rokopelli filed that information away for later use and decided that she'd let Koya know too, just in case she didn't know about trees and all the like. Who knows! It might come in handy at some point.

Glad of the fact that Banda seemingly hadn't noticed her little slip-up: which she seemed to be doing constantly now-a-days, Roko continued merrily.

"Then we can be friends! We'd like that." She bounced. Something that might have been considered a small event was something amazing to Rokopelli. She'd never had many friends, in fact, thinking about it she'd never had more friends than she had now. She was extremely glad that she'd been accepted to stay here.

"Your brother can too?" Her ears pulled forwards. Wow, this was amazing! "Banda, are you a God?" The question was spoken innocently enough.

ooc x____x <33 So after I had recovered from the flu, all of a sudden we an aunt and some cousins come visit for a week. I'm so sorry. I was busy attempting to entertain them and hardly had any computer time. ;~; I'll totally tag the other RP once I get home from work. <33

Banda would've liked to think he had lots of friends. He did have three siblings who he spent time with, and his mom was a babysitter. Really, he at least knew of the cubs in the pride. Most of his friends, though, were rocks and trees and various desert things. He talked to them more than he talked to most living things. There were just so many of them to talk to! He also liked to think of his parents as friends. But really, if he truely thought about it, he didn't have many friends near his age. So he was just as thrilled as Rokopelli was about having one. "Yeah! You can come to the parties me and the trees have!" He nodded firmly. Frequently, he and his brother had little 'tea parties' with Miss Palm and Mr. Rock. Sometimes, Mr. Rock brought a guest or one of the two lion cubs brought someone. He was absolutely certain that everyone would love to meet Roko. The very idea made him beam.

Banda giggled a little at her question and shook his head. If he was a god, he'd be a lot less normal looking, wouldn't he? In his childish imagination, he pictured all gods and goddesses as extravegantly colored and decked out in spectacular jewlery. "Nooo. I'm just a me." He couldn't come up with a reason for her to ask such a question. To him, talking to trees was just as normal as walking to the oasis for a nice drink. "I've never even seen one." He giggled a little again. That'd definitly be cool, right? Seeing a god. He'd totally tell Miss Palm about that one.

"Parties!" Roko practically buzzed with excitement. Her whole body jiggled as if performing some off little dance. In fact, it was almost as if the ground beneath her paws was shaking. "We would love to come to parties. We've never been to a party before. Oh, oh, oh, could Nyoka come?" She glanced around for the snake but apparently, he'd dissapeared. Probably curled up somewhere in the sun.

"He's our other friend, a snakey, snake. He has big teeths! Like this. Rar, rar, rar." She tried her best to bare her teeth and make them look like snake fangs, but it didn't quite work out like that.

She laughed. "But Nyoka not bitey you. Don't worry."

Then, bouncing to another subject as quickly as possible, she continued. "Well being a me is better than being a God." Roko bobbed her head. "You may have seen a God and not realised it." She continued chirping away. "Like, they have powers and stoof, so they can hide and...well..hide!

((no worries hon <3 glad you're feeling better though! ))
