Almost two entire weeks had come to pass before she could realize what had happened. During this entire period, she had avoided Montgomerys presence at all cost; it was much easier hiding from him versus having to hide her protruding tummy. It’s not that she was hiding this from him, Simply........She hadn’t been feeling very well for a few days, though her leg had healed marvelously. She had only really began to notice over the last few days, her tummy that is, and now found herself filled with guilt...She knew he would be worried sick. Kiarra needed time to realize everything...To begin to see that she would seen be a mother...And Monty, a Father. Could she throw such a burden his way? He wanted to discuss this before hand, she reminded herself... Now she would show up, weeks later and suprise him with this? Her stomach churned at the thought. With a deep breath, She lazily rose in the tree branch, scanning bellow for any signs of her mate... IF he was still interested that is. In slow pace, Kiarra began to make her way towards his familiar territory with her head held low, her mind still racing at the thought of what she would say when she finnally saw him. She knew he would be mad, which worried her even more.....

Montgomery lay in the shelter of an overhanging rock, sheltering from the falling rain while he methodically planned the next part of his search. He looked much thinner than usual, and his sleek fur was matted from inattention and damp, but he ignored that with single-minded resolve. He *would* find Kiarra, no matter the cost. He did not know what had happened, but he was determined that he would not be stopped by any force on the planet.
From his vantage under the rock, high on the hillside, he chose his next destination marker, a tree tall enough to stand out from the rest of the jungle and be seen easily, and launched himself out into the rain. In two weeks he had searched a circle nearly thirty miles in diameter, covering the area in ten-degree segments from his den on the hillside. Only a few segments remained of the circle, then he would move south and find a vantage to start another radial search.
As he padded down the rain-swept hillside towards the jungle, he absently thought that it might be a good idea to catch something to eat this trip out, if he could spare the time.

A cackling sky above seemed to mock her, taunting her every steps until it finnally broke out in rain, Her slightly puffed face seemed to droop with the water. She watched her toes go from sparkling clean to caked with mud withing four steps...Today was a dreadful day. Even through the rain, she would press on. She had been keeping this long enough, it was finnally time to let Monty know. The sky was a menacing purple, brightend by the scars of lightning that randomly jolted through the clouds. She hurried her steps, almost in a panick to see him. She had missed him terribly. A loose rock made her loose her footing, splashing drops of mud acorss her face; she never even noticed. The tips of her fur had begun to clump with the moisture. "I'm sorry.." She pleaded under her breath to the unforgiving weather, wishing Montgomery was there to hear her words.

A flash of lightning arced across the sky, and Montgomery used the momentary intense illumination to fix an image of the jungle ahead in his mind, searching for shapes and outlines in the foliage. The rain was completely muting scent, and the sporadic thunder had taken the normally-acute edge off of his hearing. He would almost have to blunder across something directly in this weather to spot it, but if that was the way it was, then so be it. He paused on the bole of an uprooted tree, waiting for the next lightning flash to split the gloom and show him the ground around his position.
Was that movement? He snapped his head around, patiently waiting for the next electric arc to re-light the area. There was something there, definitely, moving in his direction, although what it was he could not tell. After a brief consideration, he chose the direction in his mind and leaped down from the roots and loped in that direction, circling around to approach whatever it was from the flank.

The falling rain splashed against the foliage bellow, distracting her hearing. A boom in the sky made her freeze as she stared above, lighting lit the sky completely for a few moments before plummeting them back into darkness. She twisted her head, completely unnerved, she could have sworn she heard something. Her heart began to race as the thunder began to roar, shrinking her body against the ground to try to conceal herself momentarily to avoid all danger...Was that a b'alam? "Monty?" She called out, raising her head in hope.

Lowered hearing or not, there was no way he could mistake that voice. "KIARRA!" he shouted over the rain and jungle noise, turning directly towards the voice he had heard. "Kiarra, I'm to your left, about a hundred meters forward!" He bounced against the side of a tree, using his claws to pull himself up above the ground cover, looking out towards the sound of Kiarra's voice.
He could not believe it, his search was finally finished in success! He crashed through the bushes, heedless of the noise he made, or the whippy and sharp branches against his nose and face as he plowed through them like they were not there. "Stay there, love, I'm coming!" He bulldozed through the last line of bushes, and burst into the clear, nearly stumbling over Kiarra as he tried to slow down. "Kiarra, love!" He panted, out of breath.

His voice rang in her ears for a moment and she could swear she was hallucinating...Until she saw him running towards her. Even though the water was splashing down, the winds were howling and darkness surrounded them, the stormy skies in her heart seemed to clear.
"Monty.." She greeted him, almost apologetically. She rubbed her face against his, licking his cheek tenderly before lowering her gaze into his, "We need to talk.." She whispered, amongst the skies tears that fell upon them.
She now saw the full extent of what her absence had caused, though even the dirtiest coat could never hide how handsome he was, he seemed haggard and terrible stressed.

He almost collapsed in relief at finding his mate alive and in good health, his mind had come up with so many terrible possibilities in the last weeks, and now they were all laid to rest. He felt her lick his cheek and he met her eyes with his, full of love and happiness. "We do, love, we certainly do, but not out here. I have a dry, warm den up on the hill, we need to get you dried off, you must be freezing!" He rubbed against her side, ignoring the mud that covered them both, and nodded. "Come on, it's not far."
He slowly started walking, never moving too far from her, watching carefully that she was not having trouble negotiating the terrain. "I missed you so much, love." His voice was barely audible over the rain and thunder, but he simply could not be silent after finding her again. "I thought I might never see you again..."

Her paws bounced against the ground, keeping pace with his strides; she sheepishly looked over towards him, then replied "I missed you too... " She could see the entrance ahead and began so quicken her pace, rushing to get out of the awful weather. She entered the cave and shook immediately, then twisted her face to her shoulder and quickly licked herself down for a second before turning to Monty as he entered. She paused, freezing in mid-step. What should she do? What should she say? She could save the 'news' for later, if He didn’t notice her little tummy already. She could see it plainly, though with her absence for such a long period of time it could go easily and understandably unnoticed. She wanted to lunge after him, kiss him terribly and never leave his embrace again...But instead, she stayed there, silently watching him. She dipped her head, then lowered herself on all fours against the den's floor and took a deep breath, "..I Still Love you.." Her eyelashes batted in a rhythmic fashion, seductively revealing her feelings.

Entering the little cave beneath the overhanging rocks, Montgomery carefully shook the water from his fur, making sure that he was shaking it away from Kiarra. He was amazed how much warmer and more welcoming the little pile of rocks that he had inhabited for years was when his mate was here. Not exactly the introduction for his abode that he had envisioned, but it did not matter at all in the here and now.
He watched Kiarra with a gentle smile on his face, eyes only for her. He slowly padded over, lying down to face her eye-to-eye, their noses only inches apart. "You don't know how glad that makes me, Kiarra. I thought I might have lost you forever, and I think that would have been the end of me." He licked her nose, totally enraptured by her seductive, loving gaze. He wanted nothing more than to wrap her in his arms and never let her go again, she was just so wonderful, and now she was back with him. Asking why she had left never even occurred to him, as consumed as he was with gladness to have her back. "I'll always love you, Kirra, no matter what happens."

"Good.." She quickly replied, meeting his face and rubbing against his for a moment before standing up fully. She edged away from him, spreading the gap that separated them. When she was pleased, she paused and looked back, "D'you notice anything different?" She asked with a little embarrassment, stretching out her full figure to reveal her once sleek build had been interrupted with a little bump on her stomach...Her little baby bump.
She sat on her haunches, her body was easily exhausted lately and she seemed to be resting any time she could, "D'you remember our discussion when I saw you last?" She asked with a bewildered expression, "Well... I Think I'm with cubs.." She whispered, her ears slightly folded as her petrified eyes searched his for hope.

Montgomery watched with wide eyes as Kiarra stretched her body, seeing the little roundness in her belly with incredulous eyes. "Cubs? Oh Kiarra, that's wonderful, I'm so happy!" He bounded across the intervening space, rubbing his body against hers as he circled around her, practically prancing in his display of joy. "I'm going to be a father!" He rubbed his way around her again, this time stopping at her side, sitting down and licking her face, a huge, stupid grin plastered across his features. "And you look wonderful, Love, even better than you always do, I think."
His head was spinning with the shock. Cubs! Kiarra was carrying their cubs! He had devoted quite a lot of thought to the issue since she had vanished, and long since come to the conclusion that cubs were something he truely did want, he wanted to watch Kiarra swell with them, and experience young lives under his protection. "Kiarra, I love you so much, and I dearly want to love our cubs too, when they arrive. You're wonderful."

She was completely taken by surprise by his reaction and yet was thrilled. Her ears stood immediately, surprised by all the excitement. Only now could she let the joys of motherhood finally take control; she felt as though the world had stopped turning. "You can blame it on the woes of motherhood... Darn the 'glow'" she snickered. She was with cubs...Their cubs...Monty's future sons or daughters... Her feelings of desperation began to change and she now felt proud to bare such a special b'alams future children. The weeks of loneliness and confusion were now far from thought, erased really. She was living in the moment. Shock was still present, yet now she found herself ecstatic over the entire situation. "Cubs Monty!" She exclaimed with a wild grin, "Can you imagine? Brand new babies to take on this world.." She laughed... She carefully tackled Monty onto his back, Nesting herself across his stomach. She folded her arms across his chest, laying her head on her crossed paws as her large eyes stared deeply into his. "You will be a great father..." She whispered, beating chest pounded against his, "You will love these babies unconditionally..." With a deep breath, she reassured them both, "We can do this..."

Montgomery laughed, purring deep in his throat as he did. "Glow, that's a good word for it, I think!" He oofed a little bit as Kiarra knocked him to the floor, and he nuzzled her enthusiastically, feeling her body so close and warm against his own. "I'll certainly give it all I have, Kiarra. I know you will be a wonderful mother. Together, there's nothing we can't do." He wrapped his tail around hers, and his arms around the back of her neck, just purring and happy as he had ever been, holding her close.
Such a wonderful end to a long search, it made everything worth it. Kiarra, with their cubs! "I'll bet they will be the most beautiful cubs ever, like their mother, the most beautiful mate anyone has ever had."

"And their father's sarcasm..." She teased; she could only imagine how dirty, muddy and damp she was. She felt her muscles give way, the strains of the past few stress-filled weeks seemed to disappear within his warmth. They made a great match...Odd, yet perfect all the same. She pressed her face into the fold between his shoulder and neck, purring consistently as she then proceeded to groom his face and chest. There would be hardships...Things would be tough..And at times, she would be scared...Yet tender moments like this were what made it worth going through it. "I Don’t know if I've ever been good enough..." She admitted calmly, a flash of her past pushed through her memories. She had been with another before... She had 'failed' at her previous relationship which had caused her to leave her previous home. Setting out on this long journey to find a new territory had been strictly to start a new life by mending her broken heart... Not to forget her past and start a new life......But that’s exactly what she wanted wasn’t it? A new life? "I'm just scared.." She said with a whisper, accompanied by a soft purr. "You're everything I ever wanted... Everything I could ever need.." She said tenderly, letting herself slowly slip to his side as she rested her chin on his rising and falling chest. "I just couldn't ever do this without you Monty.."
