((RP 1))
Delilah said quietly by herself at the edge of the water and found herself staring, as she often did, into the clear, limpet waters, just thinking...allowing her thoughts to wonder.

Emir followed the trickle stream from the herd base to the tributory of a large pony. He had never been here before. He was struck by how green it was. As he gained the pond's edge he saw a waif sitting by its edge looking hauntingly familiar- and yet not at all. A sister he thought. She looked like she could see into the fabric of time and wondered how it all fit together... He ducked under a bush to watch her for a few more moments before stepping out from the undergrowth and approaching the maiden- stopping a good three metres from her. "You seem to be conversing with your reflection. Pray- tell me what she says."

Delilah gasped softly, as she was pulled from the realm of her thoughts. "Oh," she breathed realizing it was just another pony who had spoken. So strange, she thought. For a moment I thought it was him...
"She says little," she whispered gazing back into the water. "Yet so much. I often see all the sadness in the world in her eyes, such a haunted face, I can hardly believe it's mine."

“You reach so deeply for meaning that might not be there… I apologise if I interrupted your thoughts but I’m sure I was lead here by their intensity. Do you mind if I approach?” he asked gently. He did not want to scare her off because he was intrigued by this female- her familiarity and her newness.

Delilah looked up, take off guard by his request. "If you wish," she said, a hint of uncertainty in her voice. "Though I fear I do not make good company."

“I’m sure you sell yourself short,” said Emir and he approached cautiously. He sat beside her. “So what is it that you ponder here?”

"I use to dwell upon what was," Delilah sighed. "Seeing the sins of the past play over and over again..." She shook her head slowly. "Yet now, I do not know what to think. My world's changed so much so quickly, I'm not quiet sure where I now find myself." She glanced over at the male who had joined her, a faint red staining her face, "Forgive me, I burden you with my troubles without even the courtesy to ask your name first."

“There is no need for that; you have quite entranced me with your thoughts. I am called Emir Mortatus,” said Emir, watching the pink stain Delilah’s cheeks. “And what would a siren such as you call herself if she were forced into such trappings?” he asked.

"My name, Sir Mortatus, is Delilah," she said, her lips curling to betray a slight smile. "Though I hardly consider it a trapping."

“Oh but an enchantress must have many names for there would never be one so sweet to do such a creature justice- aside from your own, of course,” said Emir. Now that we are introduced I crave that you continue with your thoughts because they are more interesting then anything I could concoct- especially while staring at my reflection.”

"I do not think my thoughts are worth such attentions," she said turning her eyes back to the water. "My past is not something I hold pride in and my present is confounding at best?"

"Confounding? What a travesty. A beauty like you ought to reside in tranquility," said Emir with a slight heat in his tone. He cleared his throat. "But My lady what in your past could force your face to tighten ike that, near your temples?"

"Regrets..." she said quietly. It didn't feel right to bring the misdeeds of her past to this peaceful lake, especially not to utter them aloud. "Have you ever wanted to change something in your past?"

Carden's eyes glazed as he thought. "I have lived a long time... but I have no real regrets- the ones that cripple the soul. I mostly have concerns with the future," he shuddered. "My dreams are haunted by a vision that will not go away. Terrible..." he closed his eyes. "But that is not a fitting talk for present company."
