Caprice galloped strongly through the ocean water. Whenever the waves would push the water closer to the beach she could giggle and try to escape its cool splash. Then she would chase it back into the mix of the ocean. Times such as these were what Caprice lived for. The ocean was too chilly to go for a pleasant swim, but the air was warm enough to balance out the water. Besides, cold weather couldn't keep Caprice from the ocean. But a little sunshine never hurt.
All around her, the earth was beginning to show signs of life. Birds gathered in the tree tops, small mammals lay stretched out in the sand, and even the brave butterfly showed its colors; only to be blown off course by a gust of chilly wind. As the wind rushed past her, Caprice gave a shake that went from head to tail. Glancing towards the sky, Caprice saw the warm sun be blanketed by a swarm of grey cloubs.
"Oh no...I still want to play!"
In an attempt to keep herself warm until the sun popped out once more, Caprice braced herself and slipped into the ocean. For a brief second she had a terrible chill, but after that passed she relaxed. It was better than being in the wind!

Wintir was enjoying flying against the gusts of wind and fighting his way forward only to be blown back. He laughed heartily as he grew in size and was able to easily go forward with out hidarence of the breeze. His silver mane tipped in black blew out behind him in fanfare as he neared the waters edge.
As he so often did he hovered just above the waters surface, wings beating quickly in order to keep him airborne. He pranced and made a show, with no one to see, of walking and dancing over the waters surface. His hooves sending small ripples out to the waters edge.
Little did he know that moments before a Mare had dove back under the waters surface and not all the ripples where waves caused by his hooves.

Moments after she had plummeted down into the water depths, Caprice as stirred by ripples thrashing about. She knew the wind was still blowing, but surely it could not make such a force. Cautiously, Caprice let herself drift slightly closer to the surface. But the hidden sun allowed for no light and she could only make out a large black figure.
This in itself wouldn't have been too strange if the figure hadn't been so large. Of course there were birds flying around, but this was no bird. Letting herself have a few yards between the thing and herself, Caprice decided that enough was enough; she couldn't hide under the water forever!
Swiftly, Caprice broke the surface of the water and was immediately kissed with warm rays from the sun. Turning herself around, Caprice was startled to see a large horse hovering over the water. Of all things, this was the one she expected least. Mainly because she didn't even know there was a species that could fly!
"Whoa! What are you doing?" Caprice asked, curiously moving closer to the other horse.

The water exploded from the depths, larger than a fish and more startling! Wintir gave a cry and skittered backwards and up, away from the waters surface and tucking his legs up towards his chest. "Holy Sh---!" he exclaimed, as he zoomed backwards, heart in his throat.
Slowly he was able to calm down, the strange mare before him didnt seem angry but curious. He blinked at her and flashed her a nervious smile. "One could ask the same of you, popping up and scaring people like that." slowly he drifted back towards the surface of the water, leaning down to peer at her. She was strange, like a fish and mare together. He had never seen such a thing before, yet here she was living and breathing as the sun was in the sky.
"Well I'll be..." he muttered after a moment and finally cleared his throat, not wanting to admit she had scared him so badly. "Uh.. I was just.. floatin.."

Caprice couldn't help but giggle as the stallion in front of her began stuttering like a nervous little foal. She really didn't mind this though; in fact, it was quite cute. Thought she did feel a tad bad for popping out of the water like she had done. Even though he would never admit it, Caprice knew she had freaked him out; even if just a bit. "I didn't mean to scare anyone, really! But I saw a large black blob on top of the water and I had to investiage." Caprice saw, studying the male. She'd seen her share of strange creatures, living under the ocean and such, but never before had she ever seen a horse with wings. Let alone seen one flying over the ocean!
As Caprice saw the male studying her, she couldn't help but jump into the air, do a little flip, land back in the water, then return to the surface. After all, a little showing off never hurt anybody right?
"Just floatin? That's similar to what I'm doing, just swimmin." Caprice said, smiling. "May I ask who you are floater?"

He thought logically about what she said and slowly nodded his head, why if he lived under the surface of the water and he saw some large shape bobbing up above he would be rather curious about the whole thing. He chuckled rather softly and slowly nodded his head, silver locks spilling over his neck with the quiet clatter of beads. "well I would be curious too, though what I was some monster or some such? Sometimes its better to leave whats unknown alone." he said to her. "My name is Wintir, whats yours?"

Caprice giggled when the male spoke of leaving the unknown alone. Despite its possible dangers, Caprice was not one to leave something new or unknown alone. If there was a road she'd never been on, she'd travel it. Nevermind that the dangers never even registered in her mind. Caprice was far too carefree to give a time of day to danger.
"My name's Caprice." She replied, smiling. And since Caprice could never hold a comment in she said, "I know I don't really know you yet, but your name seems to suit you!" Caprice hoped Wintir wouldn't think that was foward of her. Caprice wouldn't mind a comment like that, but sometimes her mind lapses and she forgets that other horses might not be as fine with it.

Wintir reguarded her for a moment and smiled, she wasnt being too forward and he agreed with speaking ones mind. He was a little curious about her comment though. He had met another mare perviously who said his name suited him, yet for the life of him he couldnt see why. "Can I ask you why you think that?" he asked her, for he really was curious.
When he thought of winter he thought of cold, ice and snow. He was mainly dark colored with wild accsented colors. He was unlike any other soquili he had really ever seen before but he was still uncertain about the name. His mother must have seen it in him too. "Im not cold and icy am I?" he blinked at her.

Caprice giggled when she saw how much thought the stallion was putting in to her comment; at least this way she knew he was listening! "Well..." Caprice started, failing to find the right words to express her thoughts.
"Oh no, that's not it. In fact, you're the exact opposite of those" Caprice blurted out. She certainly didn't want him to think she was some rude, uptight mare. But she still couldn't find the right way to describe her feelings. The name just simply was his; like mountains were meant to be called mountains and oceans were meant to be called oceans. But that seemed far too silly for her to tell him. Instead she just said, "Wintir fits you so well because it's your name." But even this sounded dumb to Caprice. But maybe that's the way all the simple things are...
To change the subject away from her last statement, Caprice squeaked, "How about we go on land? I could go for a little standing." After finishing her sentence, she gave Wintir a little wink, drove under the water, and propelled herself towards the beach.
