My BD went to a Band Directors Convention in Chicago the week before Winter Break [I think she left around the 14th, got back in time for the 25th].
Did any of your BD's go?

What was the name of it?
Was is MENC-related?
MENC is the national organization (nearly like a union, but not quite) that binds together all music directors for band, orchestra, chorus, and all the oddballs (like guitar, piano, music technology, ect.). Every other year, they have a national conference, and this year it's April, located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Every year, each state hosts their own conference, usually referred to as 'VMEA' for Virginia, 'NJMEA' for New Jersey, and so on. Every year, music directors habitually disappear for these events.
