The Eloc Prodigy Vahn

PostPosted: Sun Jan 27, 2008 1:48 pm

The first chapter of this story starts upon the S.S. Varidian, a top-of-the-line passenger ship that is more like a moblie aquatic fortress than anything else. Made from parts taken from the Eloc Manison after the Invasion, A Demonica Soldier Unit is always on patrol for anything suspcious.

This top of the line ship includes a training area, open to those to sail upon this vessel, along with various shopping malls for tourism, resturants, diners and various other things. The ship also has various outside areas, for stargazing upon the open sky, or for the sake of some fresh air and wind on your face.

Captain Rais commands this vessel, along with being an advisor to the Demonica armies, also commands a lot of respect.

The gentle breeze blew across the night sky, a shallow humming sound coming from the massive engines below the water. The night sky reflected onto the water perfectly on the horizion, giving the illusion that the sky, never ending, was the one being sailed across. Various people walked in crowds, from the lowest class of person to the highest, which scoffed at the fact they even had to share the same boart as those beneath them.

Music played from every corner, each shop having it's own music and unique style bringing various cultures throughout the world together. Children ran and played, teens sat in diners, laughing at various jokes and wise-cracks, and the adults enjoyed the time to themselves, out for a romantic evening under the starry sky.

The dome in the main ballroom opened to the midnight sky as various people danced. Guards stood attent at every opening to the room as chatter and such was kept to the person or group they were talking to. Dressed in his evening best, the captain of the ship, Captain Rais had even attended this party as he laughed, danced and chattered with the rest. A tall, older man, short, neat hair and a beard, with harsh blue eyes. But, for now, he had his appearance to worry about.

Back outside, A man had been sitting by himself, out on a bench overlooking the water, his headphone set over his ears as he listened to them, eyes closed as his jet black hair was tied up in a ponytail, his bangs parted neatly as he was pale, sticking out in the moonlight a little more than the others, at least his face- everyhting else was covered in a set of customized leather armor. The man, obviously a fighter of sorts, sat calmly, belts containing various pouches and hidden pockets as his clothing was a little baggy. He wore fingerless gloves and heavy looking boots as this even made guards a little nervous. Nervous enough to pull out a LFS.

An LFS, or, Life Force Scanner, is a modern day background check, which matches an energy signurature to a database to left them know who said person is. When the profile came back as Variam Mykado, they thought nothing other him, except for as a wanderer, which is just what Vahn wanted.

Vahn's eye lazily followed the guards away from his own being as he wondering back towards the ocean, and the distant city of Junianek, the next city in which they were going to. The man seemed lost in thought as he pondered to himself, sighing slightly as his breath partially smeared arcross the wind, but in a more fire-like fashion. He had to let them loose, but not on the boat. He would be caught for sure if he even pacticed in the Training Center. So he sat there, wondering on the sky, listening to his music.

Syren smiled evilly to herself. The prize she had finally obtained was safely tucked into a hidden pocket in her jacket. She giggled quietly and walked silently out of the mini market.

The prize? A loaf of italian bread, her favorite. But fate is fickle and as soon as she stepped out of the store the alarm went off. "Damn," She cursed. Immeadiatly she was surrounded by gaurds. She hid her face and flipped up the hood and took off at phenomanal speed.

She got away from that set of gaurds but she knew there were twice as many on the way. She creeped around corners and hid in crowds until she got onto deck. The gaurds had already arrived there. She looked every way and realized she was cornered, she wasn't spotted yet but would be very soon. Glancing down the deck she saw a male resting on a bench. She ran to him.

"Sorry, but please just roll with it," She muttered before pressing her lips onto his. She released him as soon as they passed.

"I'm sorry," She said sheepishly. "Bread?" She smiled childishly and held it out towards him.

Corpses were everywhere in Sterre's view. She leaned back as her kimono slowly covered her body in a tight manner. She personally hated it and wished her next client hadn't decided to meet her in it. She knew full well that as the heir to the Wilbert's it was essential. After all, she couldn't very well present herself as a slob and not in her work clothing. Two corpses just kissed, she noted from her spot as she sat in her rather comfortable seat.

Who could possibly want an assassin to take such a ship to get to the right destination? Whoever this client or person in power was, they were rich for awhile. They had even sent her the kimono to wear just for the trip. Not directly, but through the usual channels that eventually reached her. She also hated that her hair was out at the moment. She'd rather cut it, but culture of the Wilbert's had not condoned that either.

"Say, miss, do you want to go and have a drink with me in a more comfortable place?" A corpse spoke. She turned her head and gave a slight glare, her smile becoming a bit of a sickening one. The man turned away and she sighed.

"Idiot."

Vahn blinked. What-the-hell? He was sitting there, watching the ocean, then this woman... kissed him from... nowhere? It was over as suddenly as it had happened.

"Bread?" She asked as he blinked, still dazed from what had happened.

"No, I think I'll pass on the bread," Vahn responded, taking the headphones and bringing them down around his neck. "Better yet," Vahn said as he looked around. The guards were coming back, this time, with an LFS.

"s**t," Vahn said as he looked at the guard, who was watching them. He shouted in a curse as the scouter beeping loud enough for everyone to here.

"Capture that man," the guards said as Vahn twitched. "GO! NOW!" he said as he blew his whistle to alert the others. The guards ran up to Vahn, knocking Syren aside as Vahn stood calmly, and grabbed him. The apparent captain walking up. "I never expected to find a legend in the midst of mortals," he said as he slapped Vahn across the face. "Strip him of the weapons," they said, the guards getting to work, taking off his belts and weapons as two kept his arms bound. The jacket came off, revealing a tight fishnet shirt as a tattoo, familiar to the young Syren, shown as the guard snickered. "So it is you," the man, tall, yet brawny sneered.

"I wouldn't touch the sword," Vahn said. "Something might come out and sting you if you do." This was a different tone from before as Vahn smirked, even after getting punched in the gut, bringing the Eloc down to his knees. The guard grabbed the longsword as he smiled.

"I don't think something's coming out of this puny blade," he taunted as Vahn was brought back up. "Tak-" was all he got out of his next sentence as Vahn's metal-plated boot collided with the captain's face, sending the sword flying into the air as Vahn continued the backflip, breaking loose from the other guards as they went to go draw blades, Vahn's hands shoving them into the metal sheath before twisting the handles off from the proper places.

Vahn landed on the ground as his sword landed behind him, cutting the rope his was bound by as he brought his arms forward, rubbing where they were bound to his back as he ducked down, tying his coat around his waist, making the bottom look really baggy, and the top, only tight-fitting fishnet. The guard had swung his foot at Vahn as the Eloc rolled to the side, standing up quickly as he caught the next attack, throwing the man to his side as Vahn unsheathed a brutal kidney punch, straight through the weak side of his armor and sent him flying to the wall as the metal dented a little where the guard had hit. Vahn twisted back around, falling to the ground to avoid a roundhouse, and shoved back up to avoid a stomp from the same man. Other guards came rushing in as the First Captain had sttod back up with a broken nose, twisted upwards as he muscled through the pain, re-adjusting it as Vahn swiftly evaded all the guards, and, using only his fists, had taken them all out. The heavy muscled man had started barely towards Vahn as the black haired man, walked over, grabbing his blade from the deck. The man brought a giant fist to the sky as he swung downwards at Vahn.

BOOM!

The deck had cracked where Vahn had been standing. The guard laughed as he lifted up the fist, noticing Vahn wasn't underneath him. "Behind you." Vahn simply said as he stood behind the man, wielding the blade that had been declared useless previously.

"I see," The man thought to himself. "He had moved at the last second, so fast that when I shut my eyes from the blast I caused, I had missed him moving.

"And now," Vahn had said. "I leave you," knowing that if he had killed anyone aboard this ship, he would have no chance of escaping it at port. Vahn twisted his blade around before sheathing it across the swell of his back, turning around, throwing on his overcoat the rest of the way and walking away from the crowd, as if no one had noticed him, other than a couple other people.

So a corpse actually fought back. A legend on this ship? Quite a challenge if you could fight one. However, Sterre simply looked bored as she saw the man moving from the crowd. She stood and shook whatever she had been thinking about out. "Pretty boring." She spoke, her hands reaching down to push herself up. She thought of playing a little game with the supposed legend. After all, he was a corpse anyway. She smirked and moved from her spot, the bottom of the kimono showing how short it was.

She moved through the crowd and began moving towards where he was moving himself. A smile on her face with an almost sadistic intention in a way. She hid it well though. "So, you're a legend?"

Syren squeeked as she was pushed to the side away from the gaurds. She fell onto her side and looked up as he was taken ahold of. She felt immense guilt. 'This is all my fault!' she thought.

Syren gasped as she saw the tatoo revealed under the guy's clothing. Her eyes widened and she sat up more, alert.

She's seen that tatoo only once before. On a teenager passing her in the Demonica high court...'No!' She though alarmed. 'I refuse to think of that place,' She shook the thoughts from her head.

She rolled out of the way to avoid the blow coming from the heavy gaurd. Splinters of wood landed around her but she was free from harm. She stood and readied herself to fight but found no need to. She ran to catch up with him... with Vahn.

"Wait!" She called "I know who you are!"

"No," Vahn said to Sterre as he walked past, rather slowly to blen in for a moment. He heard Syren, too, coming up behind the two of them. "I'm not a legend. Just a coward," was the man's response as he continued walking. He didn't turn around to face Syren as he continued walking, blending into crowds left and right to slip away past guards who hadn't seen him.

Vahn looked around as he dully blended in, a guard seemingly everywhere he looked. He knew they were out for him, for Vahn, as he turned a corner, finding the perfect opportunity.

Syren growled angrily to herself when he walked away. 'Oh no you don't!' She thought. She trailed him as best she could, the last remaining Eloc was not someone who could be found easily. However...

"Alright hold it you little snot!" She called when she found him turning a corner. "Vahn your not walking away from me not again!" She pulled her hood down and let her black hair cascade down her back. Ice blue eyes angrily glared at him.

A man wearing an identical long coat turned around with an eyebrow raised. "Lady, who the hell are you talking to?" he asked rudely as Vahn, who had turned the corner a moment sooner, had seemingly disappeared into thin air.

Back in his room, Vahn shuffled through drawers, throwing his massive over down a trash receptor as he threw on a similar one, but the differences were apparent. He then got in a different drawer, throwing off his shirt as the Eloc busted out a hair color kit he had with him. He walked into the bathroom, moments later coming out with platinum hair as he dried it out. He had changed his fake name-tag on the door, and dressed differently, looking more clean as he had let his hair spike down gently, putting on a set of fingerless gloves and his headphones, bringing out a spare pair of boots before putting on a set of rings, then walking back out of the room, walking slowly, and differently down the hallway.

Syren blanched "S..Sorry! I thought you were someone else!" She blushed lightly and backed away.

'bugger!' She thought. 'Now how am I going to find him?!" She thought angrily. 'I'll have to buy an LFS,' She checked her coin purse to find in very empty. 'Damn, now what?'

She she sat down on a bench and put her head in her hands. She sighed and glanced up when the moonlight was blocked. She saw a man standing above her.

"What's the matter beautiful?" He asked. Syren groaned. Another one of those kinds of men that only saw her for beauty. But then again she could play this to her advantage. She grinned to herself.

"On nothing really," She sighed, then stood "it's just that my boyfriend left me right before I came on this voyage and I'm missing him a little,"

"You don't need to miss a cur like that!" He pulled her to him "I'll be your new boyfriend," he gave a grin.

"Oh really?!" She exclaimed fake happily. She genty tugged his wallet out of his pants. She stepped away after securing it in her own pants "But that's ok, I wouldn't date you. Ever." She walked away leaving him dumbfounded.

She jogged lightly into the shop and picked up an LFS.

"Now, to find Vahn," She thought.

Sterre found the corpse as usual, boring in response. She moved along the boat in a manner that seemed not much of a care. Most people stared at her beauty, but she found human beauty a waste. She was nothing but a corpse as well in that reasoning. She found mutilating them an absolutely terrible shame. After all, looking at their eyes was the best part. She didn't seem to care about who she had passed in a new hallway, her usual bored expression on her face. She saw a bit of platinum hair, but shrugged. "You keep running into me, or so I believe. Corpse's shouldn't be so ready to become their true form." She then walked towards her room.

Vahn sighed. Another day, another disguise. "Great," Vahn chatted with himself as he walked calmly, going up a set of stairs, into the Shopping District. He would have to blend in as he caught the next wave of people, blending in as he tapped the two rings together, apparently doing nothing.

A guard standing near Syren's being fiddled with an LFS. "Stupid machine!" He swatted it to the ground as his friend stood with him.

"What happened?" the captain next to him asked.

"The LFS started acting weird when I looked over there," he said, pointing over to a massive crowd.

"You probably scanned too many at the same time," the man stated, putting his on as he grew confused. "That's wierd. Static, in that crowd. What could be doing that?" he pondered aloud.

"What about a High Ranking Demonica?" he asked, the first one.

"Those people with the funny rings?" the captain made sure. "I guess that could be, but they are supposed to be at the ball right now," he stated.

"Maybe he broke away for some shopping."

Sterre moved her hands on the door of her room. She twisted the knob open and then closed the door. She then made sure to move back as the door opened seemingly on it's own. "Catherine Bloom?" She nodded as the door was now safe to enter. "The kimono looks quite beautiful on you."

"I'm aware of that." She sat down on her bed, looking at her client. He was about a good size for a messenger for a powerful client. "It was a requirement."

"My master says you have met your target already on the ship. If not, you are to kill a legend."

"I'm assuming there will be more information later."

"Of course. It would seem that you know the target though. Making quite a show of himself."

"He's just a corpse. That's what they all are." She looked towards him. "Demonica?"

"Yes."

"Sounds like more destined corpses."

"That would be the point of calling you 'Zef.'" She looked at him and then nodded. "I will be on my way, you know your job." She watched him leave, laying back on the bed as she sighed.

"Hate this clothing."

Nina had been watching the humans daily, ever board with the them, though her master said it was good for her to be around the, keep her sense of humanity. She had scoffed at such and idea, for she had lost her humanity after her first taste of human blood.

Nina strolled lazily into the Shopping District and started window shopping .She had plenty of money to buy things, all sorts of things, but she could care less for them. As she walked, she heard a faint clicking noise from some where in the crowed. Her bright red eyes scanned the crowd. She noticed that he kept doing it. Silently she walked towards him, making not a sound.

"Hello..." She said to him, her voice a bit cold sounding. She stood before the man, her eyes looking at him, then down at his rings.

The rings glistened ever so as Vahn looked to the new person that he had run into now. They dully roared blue as he clicked them in one snap, no one seemingly noticing as he noticed the bright crimson eyes. The Coldness in her voice, the tone it carried was... inhuman.

"Not to be rude, miss, but I must be going," he said, wisping his platinum strands of hair from his face, his eyes seemingly swirling between three colors; hazel, blue, and gold, with the usual black pupils, more black than normal human eyes.

He simply walked past her, not being rude, as another snap was heard, the guard throwing off his LFS before cussing.
