Life, what was life to Mfuto? She stopped in her tracks, the thought compelling her to stop movement, but not allowing her to feel a surge of any paticular emotion. She'd been told of these feelings and emotions, and her mother had described sadness and hurt when she Mfuto could not express her love. So, it was with a tearful, on her mothers end, goodbye, that Mfuto left the family with the promise to visit, hoping to gain experience from adventures, and well, learn to feel. She'd been told of the colours and emotions that would paint the canvas of her life, that would etch deep contours into her personality, but she remained clueless. Never, had she felt an emotion strong nor life changing or one that provoked her actions. Never.
Stopping underneath a large tree, the white cheetah was a pretty thing, delicate with golden olive eyes. Eyes that would have been more beautiful, had they not been vacant. The sun was hot, and she took it upon herself to bask in the shade. She was still able to feel the pang of hunger and the heat of the midday. She was not physically numb.

Uri hummed softly as he walked along. He'd recently spent a couple of days with a female of his kind, due to their base natures - she'd been in need of a mate and he was a strong male of age - and on his part, loneliness. So for a short while he'd had someone to please, amuse, talk with and live for. But of course such a fling was short and now, he was feeling an odd mix of his usual sadness about his solitary state and deceptive satisfaction. He was a handsome male, he was still young and yet he was a failure in his eyes. He had few friends and he'd be spending the rest of his life traveling between them. And as for a love of his own and children to chrish and teach about life...
Bah. He loved his four sons he'd had with Dimu but was just an uncle to them who visited sometimes. Dimu was just a friend now. Etana was in the past after just two days. The smokey cheetah would try to visit their cubs if cubs were born, but again, he'd be but and uncle and he'd still be alone. What was the point in all this? It din't really make him happy.
He headed towards some shade, head full of thoughts.

She looked up from the ground for a moment to notice a grey figure floating towards her. Hm, who was that? Nevermind. With a flick of the tail she lowered her head. But the figure continued to draw close. At least Mfutos nature meant she was never one to be rash or judgemental. Would she have to talk to this stranger? And what was he expecting? These questions printed themselves in her mind in black and white. The graceful lioness stood up, walking towards the cheetah she would soon know as Uri and she acknowleged him with a nod of her head. "Hello." Her tone was a little bland, but soft, how it had always been.

Uri was snapped out of his reverie as a vision in white appeared from out the shade and greeted him. He'd been so lost in his thoughts he hadn't seen her and she was dazzling out in the light. He paused for a barely moment, with a smile and his paw raised to take the next step, appreicating that. Then he returned the nod and went back to his default mode - charming gentleman.
"Hello! Sorry, I didn't realise that this shade was occupied. Is it alright if I join you, fair lady?"

Fair lady? Well, she didn't know what to make of that, her blank stare shifting over the cheetahs grey form. Join her? Would that mean she'd have to make more conversation? She wasn't quite the actress, and knew she'd appear bland and cold, but shrugged it off, her quiet voice and her grace made her slightly more attractive than mean, and being "mean" wasn't an intention. Olive eyes squinted as the sun shot from through the branches overhanging her vision and they glimmered, before she shut them and turned her head away for the moment, figuring she should answer the males question. "Of course."

"Thankyou." Uri strided over to a comfy looking spot a couple of lengths away from her, but this side of the tree trunk. It would seem rude surely if he went round the back - like a dismissal. Besides she was interesting. Not like Ku who seemed too scared to emote anything beyond that. But she didn't seem as demostrative as others. Less easy to read perhaps? Though, he scolded himself as he lay down, they were strangers and he shouldn't ponder so over strangers. What luck had he ever had with one of his own kind anyway?
"I'll lay over here so as not to disturb you." He said

The female didnt know what to think, her quiet voice fading until all that could be heard was the gush of the occasional rare wind, and the chirp of a nearby avian. Many creatures would have found this silence awkward, but she was oblivious. Indifferent, she finally replied to him. "I don't mind where you lay. I suppose sometimes I get lonely." A bead of emotion glistened within her mind, as she recognised lonliness. Perhaps not in the same way as others, but it was there, an aching pang forced away at the back of her mind. At least with Mfuto, she told the truth. Olive eyes watched Uri closely, but not threateningly.

"Ah." Was his first reply, a sound of surprised. A lovely girl like her? Even with that slight...oddness about her - the blankness - Uri couldn't imagine her having to be alone. But then look at himself! Smoke and light and lithe and beautiful (freakfreakfreak) and he couldn't keep a partner or a companion-friend for long.
"Sadly, that's an emotion I'm acquainted with. I've traveled with others and exchanged visits, but never for long nor often."

"Oh." It was odd to hear someone agree with her, but she thought nothing of it, giving him a small nod and a smile. Smiling was always associated with emotion, emotion she never felt in great bundles, so her mother had explained that one should always smile to give off a good impression, Matuko simply did not want her looking sad all the time. "I see, no family?" She asked, rather bluntly. She would try to work her way around the question, but had no idea of the emotions it could envoke.

"Oh, yes. Four sons, and an adopted daughter. But they live far apart and I don't feature much in their lives. Hoping to find the boys soon though." Wistful. He wasn't entirely sure he'd got his directions to the Dawnwalkers right and wasn't sure he liked the idea of going there. But for his sons, and his friend their mother, he'd make the effort. Even though they weren't close, they meant a lot to him.
"You have any family?" He replied, glancing at her weird empty seeming smile. Didn't seem to reach her eyes.

"Oh, I see, that's a shame?" She guessed. She'd always harboured some emotion at the back of her mind, and most of it was fear. Fear that she wouldn't be able to love her mate or children properly, fear that they'd think the same as her, or fear that she just actually wouldn't find anyone. Pushing it away, she hoped the glimmer of emotion had not reached her eyes, but she was sure it would have. She didn't want to feel fear, anything but that.
"No, I dont. I had a mother and a father and some siblings, but I haven't seen them for ages."

"Yes, it is a shame." Uri nodded in agreement. That's sounded like a guess, like she didn't know that it was indeed a shame and that most people would call it that without hesitation. Puzzling. It was like...like she was a blank slate, as white as her fur.
"One day I'd like to find someone to actually settle down with. Life seems to mean so much more when you're sharing it with someone. Least to me."

Mfuto nodded somewhat sadly. A blank expression was tainted with something resembling empathy in the strangest forms. Lonliness had not been an issue before, but here it was, dancing infront of her eyes in the form of Uri, trying to set a spark to her mind, to ignite a flame of emotion. She guessed she agreed with the male, and her expression lightened a tad. The female did seem blank and indifferent at most times, but hopefully social contact combined with age would open more possiblities. Although her family life never did, but she was much older and supposedly wiser now.

"Anyway..." Uri laid his head down and relaxed somewhat. Mfuto, while showing a slight change in expression was both a curiousity and vaguely exhausting. The smokey cheetah decided to try to turn the conversation to they paler female once more.
"What about you, what're your plans?"

"Plans?" She froze. She'd never had plans, never had any idea of what she wanted her life to lead to, her lack of determination and no idea of a destination made life seem a little pointless at times. The pretty cheetahs eyes widened and she gave a shrug, her one toned voice was gentle. "I don't know." It was now that curiousity was aroused within her for a moment, what would happen to her?
