Run, run, run as fast as you can...she sure seemed to be doing that a lot! Riley stopped at the corner, more to catch her breath then look both ways before crossing. She wasn't terribly winded, for if there was one thing she could do better the most it was move quickly and for a long time. No, there was something else factoring into her decided change of pace: hunger.
She felt her eyes droop at the growl that jolted through her stomach. She sighed, exasberated, "Maaaaan, I really should have taken Kai's bagle this morning..." Rubbing the back of her neck she strained her gaze to see what lay along the next block...a book store, psh, a hobby shop...oh! "Thank youuu~" she gasped, jumping across the sidewalk even though the red light was firmly on "don't walk". She darted past the other two shops and ducked into a nice little diner. Once inside she smiled, taking in a large breath, "Ahhhh." Food. There was nothing that could make her happier, relatively speaking.

Except maybe seeing a familiar face.
Ignacio had popped into the diner at his adopted father's suggestion. While Devon had said it was for lunch, Ignacio had a feeling that lunch was code for "get the heck out of my hair, kid." Not that he minded. There was only so much to do at the Dragon and he had found that he had more than enough energy to drive himself, his father, and the rest of artists bonkers in short order. He had a feeling it was due to his sudden growth spurt.
Grinning to himself, he stretched his legs out and wiggled his toes in his boots. It was so cool. He could reach things easier and he could run farther. Things were starting to look different, too, and smell different. He was itching to tell someone and... He looked up, face lighting.
"RILEY!"

Feathered ears perked at the sound and Riley blinked, turning her head 'round to see the cause. When she did her mouth broke into a wide, toothy grin. "'ey! IGGY!" Forgetting her hunger, if only momentarily, she bounded over throwing herself eagerly to lean against his table when she reached him. "Well look at you! Bout time you caught up!" Caught up probably wasn't the right word since it looked like he had gained an inch or two over her in height...not that she'd admit it or anything.

He stuck his tongue out, proving himself larger but no more mature. "Yeah, yeah. Whatever." He was grinning ear to ear, though, and motioned to the empty side of the booth. "C'mon, sit. I mean, if you're not doing anything?" He looked at her with hopeful golden eyes. "Dad sent me here to get something to eat. You could join me. He gave me money so I can pay."

"Aaahhh, don't say you went all gentlemanly on me 'cause you got taller," Riley scoffed teasingly, though she wasn't one to favor manners, at least in the sense of formalities. Instead of sitting next to him in the booth she hopped up and plopped her bum, short tailfeathers and all, onto the table. "Don't worry your fuzzy lil' tail, I've got some cash from Vic...came here to get something to eat after my run." She felt her stomach growl again as if to emphasis her point, "Ahhh, I'm starving!"

"Then get your butt off the table and look at the menu." Reaching out, Ignacio pushed at his friend's knees. "I didn't order anything yet. I was kinda thinking cheeseburger, though. Mmm."

Riley rolled her eyes, kicking her leg out at his touch. Then, rolling her shoulders in a shrug, she jumped up, standing on the balls of her feet to look at the menu. They weren't too far from it, luckily, so she didn't really have to go anywhere to see what she wanted. "Hm...their subs look good, the ones with a like...everything are the best," She grinned, holding up a knowing finger to her cheek, "And curly fries are a must after all."

"Double orders of 'em," Ignacio agreed with a hearty nod. "With salt and ketchup. Then we can have, I dunno, sundaes for dessert." He flashed a toothy grin and shrugged, leaning back in his seat. He crossed his hands over his stomach. "I'm starving, too."

Man did I miss you," she breathed. No one else seemed to fit the same wavelength like Iggy did. Sure, she really cared about her friends Manny and the others but...it was different. Sundaes sooo beat shopping anyday. "Well come on!" she motioned him to get up out of his chair, "We best order, 'cause they do have to make it and all!" And boy, her stomach was going to explode if she waited any longer. Not really. But yeah.

Ignacio laughed and rolled his eyes. He waited another moment to see if she would -make- him move but then his own growling stomach got the better of him and he unfolded his hands and stood. "Okay, okay. Man, have you always been this pushy, Riley?" he teased. "I forgot. Don't forget now, though. I can totally take you down now." He stood straight and tall right beside her and grinned even wider. "I'm taller!"
Then, that said, he bounced over to the counter to place their orders.

"Awww, hell no!" Riley shook her head. Like she'd let him get away with a challenge like that so easily! She jogged after him, stopping just before the counter to turn around briefly, pulling up her fist in a mock stance, "I could kick your a** and then some!" It was but a tease, though, and she dropped her hands with a laugh before turning around and pressing her hands against the counter, "Your number 4 with everything on it and curly fries!" Couldn't get the icecream now. I'd melt, duh.

The woman behind the counter nodded, wrote down the orders, and then shooed them back to the booth. "It'll be fifteen minutes," she informed them.
Ignacio looked at his friend with a mock-serious expression. "Wow. Hey, d'ya think you'll be able to survive that long, Riley?"

"Noooo, I'm going to wither away!" Riley moaned with a slight sway to her left. She closed one eye, pursing her lips slightly as if musing over her delema. "I suppose I'll just have to eat it twice as fast when it gets here," she resolved logically. As if that made any sense. But sense was for the boring. And unfun. Or whatever. Certainly not the two of them. Right?

Ignacio laughed at his friend and pushed her towards the booth, throwing a cheerful thank you over his shoulder at the waitress. Slipping into the seat, he slouched. "So... What've you been doing?"

Riley hopped onto the seat next to him, sitting on her knees in sure sign of her typical restlessness. "The usual," she waved her hand, "Avoiding schoolwork, avoiding school, some track and cross country stuff, kicking the twins' asses, and stuff." Her description was fairly accurate. Except for the last one. She could almost take one of the twins on their own, or so she thought, but together they were still whooping her butt. Ahhh, the joys of having siblings. Not that she'd trade it for anything though. Life would be way too boring. "What about you? Got into any trouble now that you've gained a foot or so?" she grinned.
