I don't know if theres already been a topic about this. If there is I apologize and give you full support of deleting this post.
Heres the idea. Now, suppose that a character from another series is inserted into the Harry Potter world? How would they change it?
I'll post an example.
--------------------------------------------------
If Sam Winchester from Supernatural were thrown into the Harry Potter world as a Hogwarts teacher, the series would change because he would convince the Wizarding world that Harry is just a child, and that it wasn't right to throw such a kid into the war with no option but too fight. I think he would also teach Harry how to fight the muggle way so that he would be better prepared if he lost his wand.
-------------------------------------------------
You have to include everything I included. The Name, the series, what position in Harry Potter they would have, and how they would change the series. It would also be nice if you could include a link that gives us info about about the character so we can decide weather or not we agree with you. Please write down if there is a spoiler about your show/movie/book/ ect. in case we decide that we want to watch/read etc it.
Since I couldn't find anything showing Sam's personality I used Arithmancy to help me describe him. I got the following numbers from David Harber's number/arithmancy chart.
Sam Winchester -------------------
Personality: 4 - Fours enjoy hard work. They are practical, reliable and down to earth; they prefer logic and reason to flights of fancy. They are good at organization and getting things done. Like the cycle of the four seasons, they are also predictable. They can be stubborn, suspicious, overly practical and prone to angry outbursts. The conflicts possible in "two" are doubled in four.
Heart: 2 - Two represents interaction, two-way communication, cooperation, and balance. Twos are imaginative, creative, and sweet natured. Peace, harmony, commitment, loyalty, and fairness are characteristic. But two also introduces the idea of conflict, opposing forces, and the contrasting sides of things: night and day, good and evil. Twos can be withdrawn, moody, self-conscious and indecisive
Social: (Also 2) ---------
Hope you enjoy the game!!!
heart
EDIT: I was asked to add a link for the Arithmancy numbers and such. I didn't just include the numbers for Sam Winchester, I converted his name into numbers to figure out what his personality/heart/social number was. Anyway, David hadn't wanted anyone to reditribute his essay to anywhere and I think that goes the same for the number charts. What I can do, however, is send a link.
This is an introduction to Arithmancy. It has both the way to do the math and such yourself, and also has a preamade Arithmancy thing so that you don't have to do the math. It has a number chart for the personalities as well. I hope you enjoy his site as much as I did!

Ummm...this might lead to lengthy posts...? If Dash Parr from "The Incredibles" were to be a Hogwarts student, first of all he would be in Gryffindor. Secondly, he would probably be taken in as Peeves' one and only apprentice! Most of the professors would utterly detest him for his pranks. But without a doubt, he would have many friends because Dash also has a huge heart. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dash_Parr^ Yes, I cheated...

Wikipedia, despite what teachers say is a very good site! Now may I just ask that you remind people that there are spoilers there? I completely agree though. Dash would most diffidently be in Gryff. They can have him! XD

This is a great idea! I don't think I've seen another thread with this topic, and if there is one, it's either in another forum or has been ditched and sunk to the bottom. (lol) Let's see...what would happen if Edward Cullen, from my other favorite series composed of Twilight, New Moon and Eclipse, was placed into Harry Potter? A vampire, he lives with a 'clan' or his 'family' of other 'vegetarian' vampires who drink only the blood of animals. Basically, he fell in love with Bella, a clumsy human girl, who's blood smells especially irresistable to him. I think, if Edward Cullen was transported into the world of HP, he would find himself the object of much discussion and study (he can not be hurt in 'normal' ways) and be a great asset to the 'light' side.

er traf ein mädchen, das war blind geteiltes leid und gleichgesinnt sah einen stern vom himmel gehen und wünschte sich sie könnte sehn I think if Elphaba and Galinda from Wicked went to Hogwarts, some of the tables would have been turned. Galinda [The Good Witch of the North, for those of you who don't know Wicked] is very Slytherin in Wicked, so even though she is pretty, smart, and powerful - a lot of people in the other houses might not have liked her because of that. Elphaba, on the other hand, I think would be a Ravenclaw - so she might be able to make friends with people who didn't really care that she was green.
Actually, if she went to Hogwarts, she could just take a potion or use a spell to at least make her look like a regular girl, if not actually remove the green skin issue. sie hat die augen aufgemacht verliess ihn noch zur selben nacht

Haha... Oh, I'm doing to take this anime! :O
Diva from Blood + would be in Slytherin. She's power hungry and can often disregard her closest and most loyal subordinates. However, all she really desires to be the one to continue the family line. She can be very cold as a result. As a student, she would be a little bit more isolated from everyone else, but nevertheless an extremely powerful person with several connections. As a teacher, she would be constantly researching for strength. I don't think that she would have that large of an impact however.

^ Hope it works...
NEMO from "Finding Nemo" would definitely be Hufflepuff. Nemo is a very curious fish who seeks to become friends with whoever he sees. However, he is not particularly courageous as seen when he backs down from the challenge to touch the "butt." However, it is actually mockery that instigates the daring act. Nevertheless, he would be sorted as a Hufflepuff student for his humility and empathy.

Wonderful thread! 5 points! I love the creativity it is bringing out in others. KitaAmaya, bringing Dash Parr to Hogwarts is inspired! Peeves 'kidnapping' him as assistant just makes me grin. That or having Gred and Forge take him under their wing!
I'd love it if you would include a link to David Harber's number/arithmancy chart, and how/why you chose those numbers for Sam, as an example to those who might want to use the chart

Merlin, this thread is a great idea! I think about this all the time so I'll probably post more than once with different characters.
If Nita and Kit from the Young Wizards series by Diane Duane were in HP universe they would definitely be Gryffindors. Nita would be good friends with Ginny because they're similar. She's also good at Herbology, so she and Neville would have something to talk about. Kit is very sarcastic, so he would likely annoy Hermione. As anyone that read YW knows, Kit and Nita are meant to be together, hence I wouldn't pair them off with the HP characters.
I actually wrote a YW/HP crossover fan fic, but it was with the Marauders' generation, not Harry's, because I had to have Kit get jealous when Sirius flirted with Nita for a while, and I think Dairine and Severus make a great match. It's on FanFiction.net where my name is also MinervaEvenstar if you're interested in reading it.
Here's the official YW site for anyone unfamiliar with the books: http://www.youngwizards.com/

If Artemis Fowl from Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer was in the HP universe...Well, things would be AWESOME! Artemis is- without a doubt - a Slytherin. He's a genius, which causes him to have very high goals for himself, and to look down on everyone else, especially people his own age. He's attractive, but Draco wouldn't have competition in being the Prince of Slytherin because Artemis would refuse to socialise with the other students, not considering them worth his notice.
Hermione, on the other hand, would definitely have competition in being the smartest student in their year. Artemis is more intelligent, but he might respect Hermione for giving him a slight challenge once in a while. I think he'd make a better match for Hermione than Ron.
Artemis is similar to Snape. They're both antisocial intellectuals that hide their emotions. Consequently, Snape would be Artemis' favourite teacher. Although, Artemis is fluent in several languages, so Ancient Runes, not Potions, would be his favourite subject. See how well he'd ge along with Hermione?
Also like Snape, Artemis is not "evil." He loves his parents, and risks himself to keep them safe. He also hates animal cruelty, which results in him blowing up a whaling ship. Clearly, he isn't afraid of hurting people, but his heart is in the right place, so he wouldn't be tempted to join Voldemort. Besides, Artemis would not ever wish to take orders from someone else.
I can imagine him being able to figure out part of the Dark Lord's plans, thanks to things he overheard in the common room, and telling the Trio. Hermione would see his logic and agree while Ron would mistrust Artemis - the arrogant Slytherin - no matter what. Harry would not like Artemis' personality one bit, but he would grudgingly admit that Artemis was clever and never did them any harm.
*sighs wistfully* Yeah, it would be awesome.

if Aunt Redd, from The Looking Glass Wars had entered the Hpuniverse, she would be a deatheater. She was very nasty and mean sprited in that book(and the original alice story) that she would fit no where else. She would have probly overthrown Voldemort, na dmade the muggles her slaves. What a terrible story...

If Light (kira) from Deathnote would enter the HP verse, he would probably be in Slytherin because of his ambition and he's just plain evil. He would be a force to be reckoned with and could probably become the next dark lord. If L from deathnote entered HP he would certainly be a ravenclaw because of his use of logic and intelligence. He would definately help the light side since he has a great sense of justice.

May I just say, I'm the biggest fan of crossovers ^_^
If Granny from Discworld were to join Harry Potter she would without a single doubt reluctantly join with Dumbledore in the training, guiding of Harry. Reluctant, because she hates to look weak or like she needs help from any other person. She would be just as deceptive and manipulating for the greater good but knowing Granny would make herself a bigger part in the plan, trying to absorb as much of the blow as she can.
If Ponder Stibbons from Discworld joined with Harry. Well, first Harry would have a heart attack and start yelling because Ponder looks remarkably like him, then Ponder, being Ponder, would calmly explain the predicament using Natural Philosophy arguments. And then not do too much more I'm afraid.
If the crew from Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy showed up on the Heart of Gold or the Bistromath Harry could find all the Horcruxes so much faster and in style, because of the Infinite Improbability Drive or the Bistromathic drive. And he wouldn't have to camp in the woods and could enjoy Treacle tart anytime of the day because of the machine that detects what you are craving and makes it for you. And Hermione would be intimidated by Trillian and she would try and cheer up Marvin all the time. And Harry would feel an affinity with Zaphod because of the two head thing, because he also feels like there are two people in him sometimes. And if neville were on the Heart of Gold he would give Arthur some tips on how to be less meek and more courageous. And Ford and George would be like new brothers.
Oh *squee* that was too fun. I hope some other people know these other fandoms because that would be cool.

This sounds so fun :D
Alright, er: If Lyra Belacqua from The Golden Compass were to join Harry Potter...(and yes, I've read the book. Reading The Subtle Knife ATM =o) She'd be in Gryffindor. She's definitely not a coward, and although she's quite the liar, her heart is in the right place. Lyra would not be one to blend in, so she'd most likely be friends with Harry, or at the very least, his ally. She would outsmart her enemies and live through the series, fighting along the side of good the whole while. Her alethiometer, too, would be quite helpful, and Lyra would probably be one that Harry would seek for help often.

I read a lot of romance books, and if they joined Harry Potter it would be too much like a soap opera. exclaim I like Minerva's ideas about Artemis; that would be so exciting!
