Here's an idea/suggestion...
Since we all seem to like art, how about a guild art contest? We can all contribute a bit and such. I could do a quick auction sometime and all of the gold I make off it I'll send over to the IA mule to go towards the first place prize or something.
Anyone interested?

That might work, yes. Mostly, it'd be getting me set up with a convenient scanner. I have some at work, but I'm generally doing homework, not thinking about how I aught to scan my sketchbook.

Oooohhhh.. I'd love to see your sketches. I love the sketch you sent with my stuff! I need to find it and scan it and add it to mah collection. *purr* Should search my Japanese notebooks.
Anyway... just so you know what the concept was... Guild art contest as in... we HOST a contest and people draw for us... like outside of the guild. Of course, an art contest INSIDE the guild might be fun, too. 3nodding

*has never been in an art contest in a guild before* what type of art will you be accepting? D: traditional, computer illustrations, realism, anime.. um, that sort. :/

No need to plug yourself, dear. sweatdrop What should be in discussion is the original idea. If we have an art contest within the guild then all medias and styles would be accepted. Wouldn't be fair if we said "no" to any certain style or anything.
Letters would be fine, Kamiko. I actually think letters are better prizes than pure gold anyhow.

erm, plugging..? if you're referring to the little images at the end of post, they're included in my formatting [i'm using gaiabar >_<;;] because there isnt really enough space to include everything in signatures, and i'm not very good with imagemaps >_<;;
just in case if you get mistaken. sweatdrop

Eizeral: Not to be mean or anything, but doesn't that kind of make the whole point of the admins restricting the signature sizes (and trust me, there are very good reasons for them to do this)... uh, worthless?

Also...
I've been out of the art thing for quite a while now, so probably wouldn't contrubute art to an internal contest, but I've got single unopened letters for each month going back to April 2004 that I might choose from to use as a donations towards the winners.

Last picture I intentionally did (ie: bored, sucky doodles don't count) was probably nearing or just over 10 years ago now... Speaking of which, I keep meaning to scan all my old art one day... If I do, I'll post some around these parts if people are interested in seeing any of it.
