Unlike the girl Pya was destined to meet today he’d never heard of the silky embrace of music. Oh, but how he would be welcomed to a new form of life. A chance to be welcomed within a pride that would let him be all that he could be. His extremely large stature was well fit; and for a lion of such a young age he had the physique of a adolescent. The gold designs that twisted on his pelt reflected the sun light like gold gems and his firm frame swiftly and nearly soundlessly glide through the glades of the pride lands. Off in the distance was the sound of a heard of water buffalo slowly moving in the same direction he was. He hadn’t traveled into these lands un-purpose but was scared into these lands. The sound of thunder when there wasn’t any clouds told him to move away.
The scruff that was the pre-mature stubble of his mane blew in the wind as it carried his scent towards the heard. Once the first animal caught scent of Pya they began to move away from him. Finally feeling satisfied that he was a safe enough distance away from the sound he stopped by a small watering hole. Looking at it he noticed a small gator resting on the mud at the entrance of the water. Clearing his throat the predator slinked back into the water, shaking his head he moved in and took a drink, pausing a few seconds in between to see where the dangerous animal was. He just quenched his thirst when he noticed the reptile move under the water towards his direction.
Turning away quickly jogged away from the water; Pya knew they where dangerous because he’d seen an entire zebra get pulled into the water from one of those creatures. The thought of drowning while being ate sent a chill up his spine. He turned towards the water and seen the eyes of the creature, turning towards it but a safe enough distance away he growled threateningly but kept walking away from the hole…

"Where the heck am I?" Taka asked herself upset as she started to pad up a hill. Being out on her own was harder than she had thought it would be! The scariest part was that she had no idea where she was. She hummed a tune to herself as she got to the steep part of the hill; loose rocks now replaced the solid ground of the lower part of the hill. The grasses seemed to be clinging to the face for dear life, as did Taka. She was finding this material hard to climb, but she had no other choice, she needed to reach the top. From there, she'd be able to see the surrounding land, and perhaps figure out which way home was. After a few slips, but nothing serious, Taka got to where she needed to be- the top of the hill. Sure enough, a sight for sore eyes- Pride rock. She recognized it from her last visit, her father lived here. She knew that she had been heading the wrong direction, and which way home was, but she felt a stop was in order. She needed food and water if she wanted to make it back home alive.
With that in mind, the juvenile ran down the other side of the hill, which was not anything like the side she'd just climbed. Taka's paws were on firm ground the whole time, so she quickly reached the bottom. Then she saw a most peculiar sight, a very large lion with the oddest markings. They were kind of cool, really, but she'd never seen anything like them. Maybe he had food?
Jua Na-Taka padded up to him calmly, she knew most around these parts were friendly. "Excuse me," She said as she got closer. "Do you have any food? Or water?"

Pya walked away the water feeling frustrated that the reptile scared him from the water; he’d would have fought the smaller animal if he hadn’t been able to sit and lap at the water for several minutes. Drinking was always refreshing just because it was such a pain to quench the thirst… Looking up to the top of the hill he caught the sight of a brightly colored lioness, she was from this pride! His father, Umo mentioned what these lions looked like. Though he knew they would always have different markings there body type where always the same. His frown turned completely around into a warm friendly smile and he started for her as it seemed she was walking towards him. Once a comfortable distance was reached he came to a slow stop and pushed that comfort zone to about four feet away from the lioness. His theory was simple, if you where friendly and had little secretes you would keep little distance between you and strangers… If it was true or not was still yet to be proved other wise.
He carried little pudge, but enough to say that he ate well from day to day; but he was still in shape… a comfortable body type. He had indeed some food that he had hunted just a few hours ago, actually the meat would probably still be tender and warm. Nodding a greeting he listened to what the female had to say, and there was a small pause as she simply asked him for food and water. This was just one way he would unconsciously prove that he was truly un-selfish and very friendly. Most individuals would get angry with a stranger asking for food without even giving a name! Pya Miwanzo though… was unlike the many and he always wanted everybody he came in contact with to be happy and content His selfish-less mind set he turned half way around and looked to her, and tossed his head towards his kill. It was only a few meters away partially hidden in some bushes. It was a large enough animal for two lions to eat decently enough for two days at least. Chuckling he spoke, ”Yeah, help yourself to that!” His voice was deep and warm, kind of like Santa’s voice to a small child. Turning towards the watering hole the hair on the back of his neck stood on end "I'll scare that gator away while you eat!", he bolted instantly towards the lizard resting on the shore, letting out a chest rattling roar threatening the reptile’s life.

((She doesn't have the drum mentioned in the response OOCly yet, but she does have it ICly))
Taka's eyes widened at the male's words. She bounded to the kill to eat a few bites before the meaning really sunk in. He was going to do what?! Chase away a gator!? "Be careful!" Taka yelled as she rose to her paws and quickly slid her small drum off from her neck to keep it safe. She raced over and hissed at the thing before pausing, she was quite a way away from it, but Taka hadn't fought with anything before in her life. In fact, she'd never hunted either, the girl's only skill was in rhythm and song. She looked from the bold lion to the gator and back again. "Are you crazy? A gator could eat you in one bite!" She wasn't mad at him, only being cautious. She'd hate for someone to get hurt on her account, especially someone she didn't even know. Torn between her growling stomach and helping the male, Taka stood still in her spot, tail flicking wildly behind her, glancing from gator to lion.

Seeing her run off to the kill he ran head on towards the animal that laid half way out of the water. He let out another chest rumbling roar before he jumped high into the air above and behind the creature. In complete surprise that it’d been attacked but such a young lion it’d flicked it’s head up to snap the smaller felines bones in it’s large crushing mouth. Missing Pya landed successfully behind it but as he did this slipped in the clay like mud that lined the surface of the shore. Falling to his side the gator seemed to grin as it slowly turned for it’s seemingly promised kill. Hissing it’s mocking growl it charged Pya. Grunting as he quickly jumped to his feet his claws gnashed the ground beneath him and he lurked forward revealing his ancestry rage. The hair on his spine stood on end as he charged the gator completely intent with fighting to the death with it. Though he didn’t know the Taka, it was in his blood to hate and despise these creatures because of the pride his mother was in. It was the Swamp Pride that pulsed through his veins that caused him to have a cold blood hate for the reptiles. Though his intentions where pure enough he would never win a fight against such a large and mature creature. How ever just behind him a deer like creature had jumped into the water taking advantage of the situation to get across to the rest of it’s heard that waited patiently for it on the other side. Seeing this the gator no longer cared for the lion and swiftly moved past the lion without giving him another thought and moved in for the kill. Pya was just about to pound but noticed that the gator no longer glared at him, pausing he turned and looked to hear a splash of water and the deer animal jump into the water. Shaking his head he jumped form the mud onto the dry grass. Shaking most of the mud from his body a safe enough distance from Taka his red eyes looked to her with a friendly gleam. ”S’all safe now!”

"Wow!" she said as she padded over, quickly at first and more cautiously as she approached the water. "That was crazy! You almost got snapped up!" She stared at him a little longer- what a brave lion! Maybe she could incorporate today's event into her song- a brave lion going to battle against a croc for a stranger... What kind of beat would that have?
No matter- there was water in front of her and she couldn't last much longer without it. Taka quite abruptly started to drink, her dark toes squishing into the muddy clay. Cold and wet, just what she needed. Taka could feel herself regaining strength as the chilled liquid swept itself into her belly.
When she was finished, she backed out of the water, paws covered in mud, and gave a quick bow. "I'm sorry, I should've introduced myself earlier, my name is Jua Na-Taka, Taka for short. I'm from the Nchi'Mahdhi Pride on my rhythm quest, and I'm afraid I'm a little lost. I hadn't eaten in days, and I was getting really tired from lack of water, thank you so much." she said as she sat down, tail flicking lightly with contentment. "What's your name?" She tilted her head a bit.

Smirking playfully Pya trotted half way towards her and away from the water, but turning and following as stepped up to the water. ”Yeah… it was pretty crazy.” A small devilish grin played across his teeth, in fact he was still shaken on the inside; he did almost risk his life to let a stranger get a drink of water. This was something Pya would have done for any one thirsty. She did look as though she was slightly tired form her exploration! His smile remained…
Watching her drink he sat down beside her watching the water in front of her. The gator was pre-occupied with it’s new meal and soon more would soon come for the free meal. Sighing as he turned slightly to look around the edges of the brush that surrounded them Pya’s smile faded but his face still held a friendly tone.
He only nodded and chuckled as he stood up once again, ”No no! Don’t apologize, you looked really thirsty!” Chuckling once again he looked to the drum that was tied around her neck, cocking his head to the side he pointed towards it, ”Whats that thing around your neck?” Stepping closer to get a better look the young male narrowed his eyes to see even better, ”I’m Pya Miwanzo, friends call me Pya.” Closing his eyes he smiled gleefully, chuckling once again before opening his eyes again.

((I got Taka's Drum)) "Thanks, Nice to meet you, Pya!" Taka said with a smile and a nod, tail still flicking happily behind her. "Oh, my drum?" She asked when he questioned it. She slid it off of her neck and gave it a gentle push forward for him to investigate should he so desire. "It's made of a gourd and some animal parts- the drumhead's a skin, so on." Taka said, cutting the long story short. "Where I come from, everyone has their own rhythm, and when they get to be my age, they leave for about a day and meditate entirely on what they'd like their song to be. I'm working on one, but anyway, we make music on this." She gave the drum a gentle tap, loud enough to make a strong sound, but quiet enough that it wouldn't make your guts rumble like some of the drums at the drum circle.
"The problem is, the journey outside of the lands is only supposed to last a day... I've been out longer than that, and I don't know which way the big lake is, you know? Not the sea, but the lake." She could only hope that he knew where it was.
"I think if I walk that way," she pointed due west, halfway right. "...I'd get back to my Pride's lands but I'm not entirely sure. I'm in no big rush now, I think I'll stay around here for the night, but I would like to know where I'm going, you know?" She was lost, but she didn't want to leave the company so quickly.

Watching Taka for a moment he sat down a smiled at her as she talked. She was cute talking about this rhythm and he had not idea even what a rhythm was! As she tapped the noise maker (what he related it too) he cocked an eye brow and walked up to it and sniffed it briefly taking in the different things that went into making a… drum. Sitting down once again he looked back up to Taka, ”What’s a… Ri… rhythm?” Stumbling on the word he looked back down to the interesting device. Not knowing any thing about music his curiosity began to spike. He wanted to know everything about Rhythm and her drum.
He didn’t know the difference between Rhythm and Music or if there was even a difference. Narrowing his eyes he attempted to put the pieces together, ”This drum… makes a rhythm or… music?” Looking back up he had a completely confused look washed over his face. His eyes focused back on the instrument and as he looked at it he laid down in front of it looking at it closely, blinking as he tried to figure it out.
As she continued Pya looked to her once again, ”No… I don’t even know where I am!” closing his eyes with a cheerful smile spread across his face Pya was obviously a simple adventurer. Learning everything could where ever he went.
Looking to where she pointed he nodded in agreement. With a shrug he stood, ”Yeah I don’t know…” His gaze quickly shifted to her position, ”I’d tell ya if I knew…” Looking to the ground he walked calmly around the instrument closer to her, ”I’ve got no where to go… maybe I could walk with you… You could teach me about this music business!” The distance between the two was only a couple feet… but enough to appear as though he was interested but not enough to be invading personal space.
