Azhar was out and about as usual, frolicking in the fields. His eyes darted around as a playful look was plastered on his face. What would this day bring? Hopefully new friends, who didn't like new friends? His ears flicked back and fourth at all the sounds that surrounded him. The day was wonderful, bright and sunny. It was perfect to just lay back and relax, but as most other colts, Azhar wanted to play.

As he walked through the tall grass, or what seemed to be tall grass compared to him, his banner stayed perfectly in place. The little bow around his neck twisted to the side a little, at his top hat tilted just a small amount. Azhar didn't really mind how he looked, he just wanted someone to play with. He didn't care what the size of whoever it was, all he cared about was playing until he was too tired to continue on.

The grass was equally concealing but far less entertaining to another Usdia.

Edina pricked her ears this way and that, listening for the rustle she knew was stirred by the curious foal's explorations. She could call out to him, but really. She was not a mother. Her sort of creations....clever accessories that many of the native girls appreciated....were equally frustrating, but they were far less ambulatory.

She exhaled another curl of smoke. She supposed the foal's parents were dead, or not worth knowing; what kind of living creatures abandon a baby to the world?

Auntie would do. Independent, unless needed. The only thing, she had a feeling she would be needed just as often as a mother, with the foal's newfound "big brother".

Stepstepstep. She would not call and nag, but she hoped her own ruckus would catch the foal's attention.

My the grass was exceptionally scratchy today! She looked around, hoping to catch a glimpse of top hat just above the grass line. Her ears swiveled to her left, hearing some plodding. The mare started in that direction but the smell of smoke assaulted her nostrils. It stung her eyes slightly but it had to be someone familiar.

"S'that you Edina?" She asked, hoping the lad was with her since she hadn't seen him all day as she continued forward.

Sure she hadn't been given any sort of title or anything but that wouldn't stop her from being motherly toward the boy. He would most certainly provide some sort of little family for her.

When she came upon the other mare, her smile faltered slightly at not seeing the colt but it was only brief. " 'Ve you seen Azhar 'round at all?" She asked, nearly ready to just call out for him. After all, who knew what could be lurking in the grass. Some horrid viper, a wolf, oh the possibilities! But she willed herself not to fret over what could be, and focus on what was.

Thus far, Azhar was gone.

The childish foal's smile was large. His baby blue eyes scanned the area for anyone of his family members, but he was too small to see very far. The sound of one's footsteps caught his attention, then the sound of his name was heard from the motherly, black and white mare.

Azhar made his way over to the two with a rather large smile spread on his face. It was nice to see some familiar faces around.

"Here I am!" He called out whenever he came into the two mare's view. Here were his aunt and mother figure, but where was his older brother? Azhar raised his head up a bit to look around for the tall stallion with the crazy looking mane style. He would have something fun to do, maybe a super hero mission of some sort?!

The little 'side kick' quit his search and turned his attention to the two mares. "How are you two?" The tiny foal asked with a charming smile on his face.

Edina tsked, smoke coming from her cigarette in rapid puffs. "We were worried, darling." her tail flicked, and although her owl eyes remained kind behind her thick spectacles, they were stern. "There are many things that are bigger than us, I'm sure you know."

Slower, too, but that was something the foal didn't need to know.

"Besides what if something were to come after you and you got tripped up? There's an adage that goes 'there's safety in numbers,' for a reason love." The mare said, trying to hide how worried she had been. "So I'd really rather you didn't wander off alone." She added. "It can be rather dangerous for adults of our species to be out and about...especially in the forest."

She held back the urge to say, 'we're bite-sized'.

She had been attacked on her own and wouldn't forgive herself with something happened to the little colt. "But enough of that talk...how was your day thus far popkin?" Flower asked with a slight smile. Yes, never let a child know the level of your fear and or concern.

Azhar's baby blue eyes looked from his auntie to his mumsie. "Okay." He said lowering his head a little, his top hat barely holding on to the top of his head. It wasn't fun getting into trouble, but it was better getting into trouble than becoming someone else's dinner. When their tone was kind again, he lifted his head and perked his ears a little. "My day has been boring and how have your days been?" The tiny colt directed the question to the two mares.
